Dear all,
your kind help is needed.I just noticed that my DS has gone mute!It doesnt make any sound at all.No sound when it starts no sound when I touch the screen no sound when I get a call no sound in the media player no sound at all in general.
All sounds volume are as high as they can be but I have no sound.
I checked all the options of sound in the sound section and it all seems normal.
I have even restarted it but nothing changed.
I have to add here that this started when I took it off the charger this morning.Mostly like last time I charge the phone turned off.I usually wait to hear the last click when its turned off and then I plug it in the charger.Last night I might have plug it a second or two before the last click sound.
Finally I have to say if it matters that the phone is running stock rom and I have not touch the software at all(no S-ON S-OFF business)
I could really use your help here!
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have been having a problem lately with the headphone port on my phone.I don't use it at all for anything but for some reason, my phone randomly says that there are headphones plugged into my phone. This stops me from being able to hear sounds out of the speaker so i miss phone calls and texts. I also can't hear voices when I phone someone.
I am currently using the latest version of the "CyanogenMod (CM7)" port on my phone. Was wondering if anyone else was having this problem.
Sorry if it has already been posted, I have searched and couldn't find anything.

I have never seen anyone report this problem nor have i had it myself. I think it is a hardware problem so try sticking something in there if you want to experiment yourself or take it to a repair shop.
I have tried that before and it didn't help unfortunately. I did again just to check and it didn't help.
If I re-boot the phone it stops doing it but only for a short time.
I plugged some headphones in after the re-boot and they didn't show.
Maybe there has been something spilt on it and no one told me
Thank you for your help

Try flashing another ROM, preferably a Froyo ROM and see if it works then because it seems the problems stops for a while then appears. Hopefully that works.

Hello guys,
Just recently, my speaker option stopped working and I am not sure how it happened. I've been on barebones for a couple months now and I was curious if it was just the rom, so I flashed cm9 and slimics, but still no luck. Any suggestions how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

When you say speaker option, do you mean putting it on speaker during a phone call? Do you hear sound out of your external speaker when you play music or do anything else besides phone calls?
I would suggest going back completely to stock using the GB one-click: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358498. Or, maybe even giving the gremlin remover a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500427&highlight=gremlin
If you don't get sound going on a completely stock ROM, you probably have a hardware issue. Has the phone been dropped or has anything been spilled on it?
Yes, your right, the speaker option won't work during a phone call. When it is at max volume its just a scratchy sound from the person when they talk. I think your suggestion may be the best way to go as far as trying to get my speaker to work again. Thanks.

did you go to the sound setting and tried adjusting things in there ?
if you didn't drop the phone, then, maybe you should root it again ? or recall if you install any app before it went dead ?

Hello people!
Well, this is the story: I had the 4.22 stock firmware on my Xperia Tipo. When someone called me, the ringtone sounded normally for the first 2 seconds, but then... the volume of the ringtone decreased drastically, and also the sound quality of the ringtone decreased too! It sounded like an *.AMR recording...
So, I searched fot the 4.27 firmware, I thought that would resolve the question, but NOPE!! Nothing. The ingtone stills sounding like an old recording after two seconds of ringing!
So, I was wondering if we could share comments about this. Someone else had or has this kind of problem? Or someone has solved the problem?
I have to say that I tried turning off Xloud, but that doesn't works. And I have no sound MODs on the firmware.
Let's share some answers about this problem! :highfive:
Hi,
Somebody posted in sony forum that he got a solution by switching the network. Initially I thought what a joke. Then I tried to change network mode to GSM from wcdma(preffered)/gsm. Ohhh yes after changing the netwok to GSM ringtone is ok now. This is definately a sofware bug. Yup those who preferred wcdma/gsm will have problem.

:good: Wow man! Never thought of trying that! Well, thanks for the reply, but sadly I sold mi tipo last month. I needed money to replace the broken display for my new phone... I still have some screenshots of that Xperia somewhere in my PC, sometimes I miss it.. Was a great phone!!
But anyway this could help someone who still has the phone! :fingers-crossed: Thanks for the response!
Anyone know waht is causing the volume level to go WAY down after I place, or receive a phone call. I love the phone very much but this is driving me crazy! I'm on T-Mobile which is working fine. I have to use the Digits app at home to make calls. But no mater if I use Digits or not, if I make or receive a call the loudness of anything on the phone basically goes away. System sounds, YouTube, Iheart radio.... Anything that uses the speakers looses all volume. I have to reboot to get it back. Pretty annoying
I am facing the same problem. It just started to happen this week.
Clearly it's boring! if your device is rooted with magisk try viper4android it's magic, believe me !
Im having a similar problem and started to notice it few days ago, mainly because I am 85% of the time using the phone on vibration only.
I don't know exactly what OP means with "goes away", if this means that the volume is low (ringing or playing music) but the controls are still to the top, then yes I'm facing it too, but, what is really strange is that for me, just the top speaker have sound, while the bottom speaker is really low.
I managed to figure out that if I cover the top speaker with my finger without "pressure" or trying to squash it, the bottom speaker start "working" again. Im lost with this situation.
Sounds like a messed up mixer math or possibly audio mod that is messing it up

Could be a botched firmware. Be my guess. Iv flashed many roms and official firmware and never had this issue. Have you tried flash tool or the new flasher?
