Union City area. i wouldn't get too caught up with the top speed as you saw the latency was very bad. i was just curious to see how high it can go. on average i'm closer to around 8-10Mb down.
I'm in an overly condensed city, but within the city I've gotten:
13down/3up
But my average is about:
8down/2up
Best I've gotten was 27 down and 4 up... But not often

Interesting that most of you guys with "4g" are not really getting much faster speeds than I get here with 3g (Averaging about 8 down and 3 up with the international One S).
It's likely the same hspa+ except t-mobile brands it as 4g here in the usa

Pardon my bluntness, but a number is just a number with no real meaning without a reference. I was taught in tech school to ask “What is the reference?” To answer your question, I live outside Phoenix, AZ and I am getting EDGE speed of around 12KB/Sec. I am out in the desert 20 miles from the closest small town. What is odd is I get better download speed here than I get in the two closest towns. In Maricopa and Casa Grande I get 5KB/Sec down and 2KB/Sec up.
Richmond, Virginia ive seen it hit 12mbps. Then again we have all the secksy here connection wise.

South of boston I get 5 up as a MAX, most of the time it is only 2-3, and 1 down MAX.
It might be a little more useful if people gave their location AND their current radio/ril/DISH combination. I'm using the official TmoUS package with the included radio/ril/and new version of Dish2.
I get 3 to 5 in Virginia. I still remember the days of EDGE though, so I'm grateful even if I have 1mbit.

Those numbers in Atlanta are ridiculous! I'm so jealous right now. My WiFi is oftentimes lower than my darn data connection. It's such a joke. In Ocean City, Md. this weekend I got 0.06Mbps down, 0.01Mbps up, and 2904 ping (I can provide pictures if you don't believe me). That's literally with the 4G symbol and full bars. My girlfriend's iPhone 4S was hitting 2Mbps down (and that's 3G), and a friend's Bionic managed like 10Mbps down. T-Mobile was killing me; I essentially couldn't use my data all weekend and there was no WiFi.
ok, i'm in southern California and averaging around 3MBPS down. what radio should i flash? TMOUS, ICS, ARHD.
thanks!
and thats all we ever need folks. For me anyway, lol. I don't need 18mbps or more or whatever LTE is. 5mbps is fast enough for a mobile device. even 1.5mbps... that's just me talking though. haha
oh and the highest I've ever got was 9mbps
I used to get 7-9 down, but that's dropped off to 5-6 recently with the latest T-Mobile firmware. I may go back to the international.

Those are great speeds. I envy you guys in 4mb areas. I think it is pathetic that TMO keeps advertising their great 4g network when many cities of a million people and less still don't have it. And, how I can get 6mb dl's in my driveway and then step in my house and have only edge downstairs with a little improvement upstairs. Definitely need to look for another carrier in February. All IMHO--

I too had to dump tmo due to poor coverage. I am in a 42 mbps area and got awesome speeds. But several times per week I'd be somewhere getting no service whatsoever, while my wife sitting beside me was getting full bars of 3g on AT&T. I decided the awesome speeds were not worth the poor coverage.
On the bright side, if you SIM unlock the one S it works just fine on AT&T 3g.

Man. That's some crazy good speeds. Here in Denver, CO the average speed is 1-4 mbps during peak hours on LTE, 10-20mbps during peak hours on HSPA+. Non-peak times for LTE is 15-30 mbps, non-peak times for HSPA+ 25-30 mbps. I don't even bother using LTE anymore here in Colorado. Too many people moving to this state.
