Market not showing up - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Alright so I did the whole CM7 R11 trick to have twrp. Now after all that I went back to flash gapps, Google works but the market isn't there. I've done everything but go back to one click and redo everything. Also when I was on cm7 (I'm on mokee now testing to see if it wasn't cm7 only) after clearing cache and dalvik, fixing permissions, a lot of things started to force close. Any advice/help will be appreciated

I would suggest you reformat your SD Card from blue CWM with 2048 partition and 0 swap and reflash. Make sure to backup your SD Card before doing this. I had the same problem and that fixed it for me.

When I went from bml to cm711twrp I skipped the beginning part where it said to sign in or create and it wasn't there. So I did a factory reset/system wipe and installed cm711 and flashed gapps again. I signed in and it was the "market". I then got a fc b/c it updated to the play store.

I'll give both advices a try and see which one works. Thanks guys

[Q] Need help installing CM7

Okay, So here is what I have done so far:
1) Rooted phone
2) Installed CWM and flashed the i9000 version per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1107881
3) I reboot into 3e recovery, wipe data and cache
Here is where I'm having the problem. My only options are Reboot, Reinstall packages, delete all user data, delete cache, format internal SD card. If I try to reinstall packages it tries to open update.zip (which doesn't exist) and doesn't let me choose a .zip from my SD card. Also I get the E: signature verification failed.
I had CM7 on my captivate and I remember having this same problem but don't remember how I solved it. Any help would be appreciated because I am feeling frustratingly slow on this. Thanks!

Sounds like you need to install modded 3e recovery (putting the modded recovery file into system/bin) then hit "reinstall packages" option twice. Try THIS link
That gives you working CWM
When you get to flashing CM7, after the first flash, a battery pull and re-flash is needed. Also don't forget to flash gapps!
There is a video on YouTube about that recovery

Low internal storage problem

I have run into a huge problem.. I was on unnamed when suddenly I got the notification for low internal storage, I move a few things and reboot into recovery, clear several things then reboot. Only to find out, the problem still exists, so I switched to Octane ROM and problem came back. Tried to factory reset, but no luck. Only 3 apps installed. What to do?

I would recommend you try going into cwm, under mounts and storage, and format cache, data, system, then try reflashing the ROM of your choice. Or use gremlin remover, that will wipe everything that a reflash or system restore would've missed.
I also use unnamed, and with somewhere around 70 apps installed I always have 300+ MBs of memory, 320 after cleaning caches.

won't let me format/system. Think that might be the problem?
What version of cwm do you have? Cause on the old version 3.x.x it didn't let us format system, but version 5.x.x should. If your on 5 and still can't I would say it would probably be a good idea to try gremlin remover.

I am on RED Voodoo CWM from Honk's KJ1, assume it's 3.x.x?
Correct. Try flashing this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1610528 which will get you on cwm 5 (which will still be red) and then format cache, data, system, reflash unnamed, or whichever ROM you choose, and you should be good.
Will do, just after I finish the gremlin remover. Hopefully, that'll work.

Flashing CM9 on Xoom keeps failing

I've already flashed a custom recovery image of ClockworkMod Recovery 5.8.3.1 and have rebooted into recovery, which works fine.
I have Downloaded the latest version of CyanogenMod and gapps-ics and placed on the root of the sd card in my xoom. I have also tried this by placing this in the root on the internal storage but I am having the same issue here.
I can wipe data/factory reset fine, as well as wipe cache no issues, but then when I go into install zip from SD card, then choose zip from sd card I get the line E:Can't mount /sd/card/ so can't install the zips cm-9.0.0-rc1-wingray or gapps-ics
Any thoughts on what might be the issue here, and why I cant get to the zips. As I said I have tried this both ways, having the zips on the internal storage and on the actual SD card.
HELP! So so fed up with v3.2 I need CM9 on this!
I don't know if the message is caused by the launcher. I would disable the signature check and try again.

I had the same problem, did a few google searches which indicated there was a problem with that version of ClockworkModRecovery, i ended up reflashing with ClockworkMod 3.2.0.0 (R4c) and all was fine after that.
Hope that helps,
K
Thanks will give that a go and post back later for if it helps others.

Go to settings ->applications->all
scroll down to "Google services framework" and clear cache and data, now scroll down to play store and wipe cache and data again... just for good measures wipe data from all Google related apps...
Now restart and go to recovery->advanced->fix permissions-> wipe dalvik cache and cache and restart your tablet... this should work....
If doesn't then wipe everything and reinstall the from from scratch....

I just tried this and after the reboot I was still getting the force close, so I reinstalled the ROM and the problem was still there. Don't know what to do.
I am also confused as when I install a different jellybean ROM, my home screen layouts are all still the same, even if I wipe the system.

What recovery r u using ? Try TWRP... download TWRP AND INSTALL IT by flashing it through recovery.....
1) wipe your external SD CARD CLEAN
2) copy say AOSP JB and TWRP to your now clean SD card
3) go to recovery and flash TWRP first and reboot again into recovery.
4) now wipe system, cache, dalvik, system and internal memory using wipe option
5) now flash ASOP JB and once done just wipe dalvik and restart...
Hopefully this should work....

Should I try a different JB ROM instead of the Team EOS one? Could you link to the thread with the one you use possibly?

Did you flash harmony kernel... ? Do exactly what I say, when you go to twrp recovery flash harmony kernel and restart and get back into recovery... now go to wipe and wipe everything expect external memory ( cache, dalvik, system, internal memory) after all these now flash the AOSP JB ROM and wipe dalvik/cache after installation.. now flash superuser which you downloaded from the link within AOSP... important is try AOSP ROM WITH HARMONY KERNEL... leave team EOS JB for now...

If you talking about just the wallpaper (green leaf wallpaper ) p, then green wallpaper is same for both ROMs as its the default wallpaper of JB... go to settings and find out what ROM you running on... also try clearing data of applications which are FCing....

I did all of the wipes in the order you said, I flashed the harmony kernel and the AOSP JB ROM, and still get all the force closing of android.process.media.
I selected the orange canyon kind of wallpaper when I was in Team EOS and when the AOSP ROM booted, it was that wallpaper. Even though I know it should be the leaf one. All my widgets were still there too. Even though in the settings menu it said it was running on the AOSP ROM.

[Q] SCH-R530U Complete make-over NEED GENIUS**!!!!

I have a SCH-R530U US Cellular GS3 running on JB 4.2.2 with AOKP's mr1 build 5.
Kernel: 3.0.67-aokp-00038-g5a02406
I'm bored of this ROM and want to try Liquid Smooth for the features and hopeful battery life extension. I have been trying to get my phone back to stock EVERYTHING every couple weeks for the last few months now, and have not found any stock rom/kernel files that do anything other then brick my device into a hard boot loop. I have a NANDROID backup, so all is not lost, but I'm just so sick of not being able to find ONE file that will give me stock kernel and stock ROM so I can try a new ROM with new features and speed. I would flash LS over the AOKP build, I just haven't found any info on whether or not the ROM is compatible with my kernel, or if that's even an factor and Iv freaked out too many times over thinking my phone was F$*!ed to be that ballsy in trying something without having exact instructions or some sort of literature/video. So Id rather be safe then sorry and start completely fresh.
Also to get rid of all the non-sense i have on my phone from flashing tons of files to get rid of AOKP, and not knowing how to delete them.
The other issue. My SD card isn't recognized by anything. I cant move apps to my SD card with any app out there, the file is emulated and what i think happened was somehow, I ended up with two SD card files, and they have mixed files in them. So being as newb as I am, idk what files i need to keep in order for proper functioning of my phone and which I can delete, so i can move apps to the SD card and pictures and all that stuff to free up space on my phone. Im more then willing to delete everything on the card, but that wont fix my unorganized internal file clusterf$!*#.
Iv seriously being looking for months, downloaded ADB toolkit to try and get stock back that way, but just another boot loop.
TL;DR
1. Need stock ROM/kernel files for my version that will actually work and not bootloop me.
2. Can any ROM be flashed over any kernel, or are there restrictions with specific ones?
3. How can I fix my SD card problem (not recognizable by any App2SD app; literally none -says my SD card is emulated), with messed up internal files?
PLEASE HELP!!!!
Through your recovery do a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik) Sounds like you want to wipe your internsl sd too? Depending on where you keep your info you can wipe your internal SD but it's not necessary.
When you flash a ROM it will come with it's own kernel so you don't have to worry if a ROM is compatible with your kernel. Just make sure you flash a ROM that is compatible with US Cellular.

Thank you for your reply, honestly.
I vaguely remember doing a full wipe (system, cache, delvik, and data) and it not fixing the issue. But, I will try again. I'm more concerned about my SD card issue and all the messed up files. Will wiping all this fix that? Using ES explorer, I have about six /0 files... Idk if you know much about that, but from what I've learned, within that ONE /0 file, there should be storage for my SD card (data/media) and of course, there's nothing there. So, do you think or do you know that doing a full system wipe will remedy the problems? No tone intended, not trying to be a jerk, simple curious for the future.
Just format the SD card. Wipe everything off if your comfortable with losing the info. You can save important stuff top your CPU if necessary.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Won't formatting the SD card just erase everything anyway? This would fix my "corrupt" file issue though, correct? The multiple files and unoraginzation?
Sent from my SCH-R530U using xda app-developers app orginized
Yes formatting it will completely wipe it.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
And that's something I can do through my recovery, yes?
Sent from my SCH-R530U using xda app-developers app
I'm using TWRP and it can be done though recovery.. wipe > advanced > check sd card
Just backup anything you want to save

Will responded with results later tonight. This stuff always scares me... Gatta risk it for the biscuit though.
