Retunr to stock help! - HTC Desire S

Hi all,
Im wanting to return my desire S back to stock as much as possible. I guess that getting back to complete stock (s-off/s-on, carrier lock etc) might not be possible, but can anyone point to a guide that will work.
I saw this thread but it has been removed and locked bizarrely -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604255
I did a search and ive had a browse but couldnt see anything.
Any help is much appreciated!
cheers!
p.s. thread title error - return* my bad!

by the way i tried the following -
Im in the UK on vodafhone so I ran RUU_Bravo_Vodafone_UK_1.19.161.5_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126338_signed.exe
and got error 155
So i tried extracting the rom from the RUU. whilst running i had to go to temp files and get the rom.zip, renamed it to PG88DIAG.zip which is recognized by fastboot, but this did not work. got a very quick pop up of wrong image etc (after taking a while to load it)
So im not sure where to go. Its currently S-On, is that the problem?
cheers!

[Q] ***G1 screenshot for your troubleshooting perusal!***

Hi guys,
*Information contained in screenshots*
Posted a topic about a non-rooted G1 with only access to fastboot and hboot.
I was told that I would have to flash a signed ROM to solve my problem but unfortunately, after proceeding through the full ROGERS G1 downgrade guide by Haykuro, the problem still persists.
The only thing that could have gone wrong during the rooting process is the installation of the wrong recovery through flashrec (it only allowed for remote install for a 32a install).
Here is a screenshot of the phone in hboot for you to get all the info (spl, radio etc.) and a pic of the phone's screen past the splashscreen.
Anybody know how screwed I am?

you're not screwed at all if you can fastboot. esp. on an unrooted g1.
do me a favor, on the screen with the exclamation point, open your keyboard and push ALT+L.
That'll get u a menu, do a data wipe.
Thank you! That solved it but now everytime the phone is turned off and is turned back on. I get to that famous screenshot of death.
Any clue?
Thank you for your reply! Much appreciated.

[Q] Re: Flashing Splash Screens (I searched first)

Hi everyone. I've searched for an answer to my problem, but haven't found anyone with exactly the same issues I've been having loading a custom splash screen onto my phone. I'm currently running the Revolution 4G ROM. I've tried the "flasher" program, I've used the appropriate adb commands, and I've even tried an alternative method of loading the splash1 image file into the data folder of the flasher program before using, all to no avail. Flasher says its working, but on reboot, the same old white HTC screen pops up. When I go the command prompt route, I get the following message: FAILED <remote not allowed>. I am 100% certain that I am rooted and S-off, I have full access to all of my programs requiring root and I'm getting the appropriate notifications re: S-off. So what does this mean, and what should I do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You need to flash the Engineering HBoot first.

When you say you have S-Off, is it ENG S-Off? If not, that would be the problem.
If you followed something like hack-kit, you only have Radio S-Off.
(after I typed this msg, I got distracted, came back, and hit submit. Now I see LGSilva already responded lol. I don't know how to delete this post, so I'll just leave it be...)
Thanks so much, quick and easy!

Help with flashing HTC Sensation

Hi guys,
First and foremost, may I just say a big thank-you for all the information I've acquired over the past few days. It's been a great help. Unfortuntaely, I'm now after more!
I have successfully rooted my HTC Sensation and have S-Off'd and installed the Recovery Mod on the phone. This went fine, without a hitch.
I then tried to install the new Insert Coin 5.1.6 rom onto the phone, the install went fine but on reboot, the phone is in a constant loop. When I go back into the bootloader and try to update using the PG58IMG.zip and it just says 'CID Mismatch'.
Fortunately I made a backup of the image but when I go to resotre it I get the same issue. The original splash screen is back, but the infinite loop still exists.
I have a feeling I didn't flash the firmware to the correct version. The only thing is now, there's no way I can see of getting to the device apart from using a multi-card reader to access the SD card.
I'm also unsure of what firmware to use with this Rom? I've heard about editing the andriod-info.txt file to include my phone model or CID but isn't there one with my model already included?
Thanks for any help you can offer guys, I really appreciate it. I was really looking forward to trying these roms but I kinda messed it all up
Cheers
David
Can anyone please steer me in the right direction
Hope this helps

Returning to Stock

Have a question about returning to stock. I followed BlueSix's guide to copying the PG59IMG to an sd and then inserting it into the device and booting to fastboot but it keeps saying there is no image and doesn't update. I'm in the process of trying to download another image but maybe I'm missing something, any help would be appreciated. Thanks
If you are on a windows computer, it most likely is set to hide knows file extensions by default.
That means when you rename it to PG59IMG.zip it actually ends up being PG59IMG.zip.zip
That would make it not get picked up when rebooting to hboot.
First thing to check...
Sent from a digital distance.
Thanks Blue that was the problem. Appreciate the help.

The best place to start would be to RUU your device. HTC makes a great, easy to use utility to restore your phone to stock. If you get the right RUU .exe for your phone (it depends on your CID, MID, and currently installed version).
Search is your friend. All of the information you need is on these forums.
