Odd request I know but if someone has a nandroid of the stock rom with nothing added or taken out I would appreciate an adb /pull / whateverfolder I have a couple ideas and would like a nice clean pull to work with. I don't have this device or I would do it myself. I guess I could try the Odin tar but it'll be alot easier with the pull. Rooted is fine but anything else I would prefer 100% stock.

[CLOSED][ROM]Bone Stock & Stock Deodex ROM's Triumph-Now Resets Splash.img!![CLOSED]
Thread closed because I no longer own this device. The download links no longer work. Sorry for any inconvenience.
i just installed and wifi works but when trying to go online rebuts the phone, also the screen goes black and stays like that for like 2 minutes. And yes i did all the restores available.
Which ROM did you flash? Deodexed or Complete Stock?
deoxed one.
Hmm that's odd cause the woofing works fine on mine! Ill look into it!

Same here it works... weird, this is the fix for me that got the wifi functioning again. But then again, I flashed b_randon14's stock theme zip, not this one.
If you want deodex I would recommend that one, more confirm it working at least right now.
Stupid question perhaps, but will apktool properly decompile and recompile framework-res.apk? I ran into a doozy of a problem trying to do that with somebody else's ROM.
Yeah it decompiles just fine! I have done it a thousand times!
Edited op with the zips that will reset the splash.img back to factory as well!!!
Thanks and I'm going to have to try this one out now.
Is the Android logo text hidden deeper in the system than I originally thought? I've actually seen it on my new phone a couple of times now, after reverting different things. You know, the flashing "android" text...
When there is no boot animation, it reverts to the flashing android logo. Its in the framework Res under assets/images. The boot logo(red Motorola logo) is on the same partition as the recovery image as a splash.img. to flash it I have the recovery mount that vfat partition as sd-ext and copy over the the splash.img its the same way I flash recoveries from cwm.
The bootanimations( red Motorola animated logo then cm splash animation) is locates in /hidden/data/power-on animation.

So I installed the deodexed version and I was able to use mobile wifi tether with barnicale without having to change the MTU for the Motorola Triumph!
Once you change the MTU once on a computer, you never have to change it again... you sure it's not just a residual effect?

I'm quite well aware of that. I did it on my laptop, but not my desktop. but my desktop was able to connect online with the tether. i guess i should try it on another machine to make sure.
Is there any advantage with the deodexed version over the odexed version if your goal is to restore the phone to stock after having another ROM installed?
Selling my Motorola Triumph to a friend - I've been running CM7 since the alpha days, so I need to go back to stock. I still have a nandroid of the stock ROM, but that also has a lot of installed apps, not to mention personal information/passwords. Will the complete stock ROM allow her to activate the phone?

It should.
I know this thread is about a year old, but thanks for the stock files.
I had CM7 running on my daughters Triumph. I finally decided to just put both of my kids on my VZW family plan since the Gnex dropped to $50 each and Virgin Mobile's service is a complete waste of money.
I'm selling her Triumph now and the phone has to be stock in order for the new owner to activate it, so this came in handy.
Thank you very much!
Works perfectly. My girlfriend didn't want a buggy ROM ruining her Candy Crush games so I had to bring her back to stock. Took less than ten minutes! Tanks!
I've been searching the forums and I've seen people replace their respective stock mms.apk. I just got my 4g slide, coming from the g2 and im not used to this sense mms stuff. I liked the stock mms in the g2 way better. I tried handcent/chomp/go sms...neither was my thing. I'm rooted so if I had to mod anything, thats good...I just need instructions. I just want the regular android 2.3 stock mms i was using in my g2. Is there anyway to accomplish this? Really appreciate it
If you post up the .apk you want to use in this thread, i'll take a look at flashing it to my phone when I get home from work this afternoon. I'm going to run through all the ROMs I have in sequence testing the custom kernel in the dev section, but right now at this moment my phone has it's stock ROM running.
I can write the update and flash it to see if it works before I go about erasing everything on the phone - just an fyi though, i've never actually done any text messaging on the phone so I can't tell you how well it will work, just if it installs and opens fine.
If it does, i'll post the flashable update i'll end up making so you can run with it...unless someone else gets to it before I get back here today.

Good stuff, I found this here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1203665
as well as :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253108
...but they report problems with mms not working. maybe u can download either mms.apk package and see what u come up with?
Hello,
I have a rooted Samsung Epic 4G from Sprint that had the last update to Froyo on it before I rooted it.
I wanted to remove Carrier IQ but I didn't do it the proper way using the TrevE's utility. Instead I went through the filesystem to delete these three files (wise guy):
/system/bin/iqmsd
/system/lib/libiq_client.so
/system/lib/libiq_service.so
Now my phone is stuck on Samsung when I turn it on and I have to pop the battery to shut it off. I can get into "Downloading..." mode, however.
Is there a way to hook the phone to my computer and use a tool that will access the filesystem on the phone to put these three files back?
My girlfriend has the identical phone and those three files I can easily get from hers so that's not an issue.
My main concern about using Odin to wipe and start over is that I have a lot of apps and they will be lost.
Maybe this has to be done through Linux? Not sure. If Odin can be used to selectively restore the phone without wiping apps, that would also be a solution.
Thanks,
Steve
Not sure on this one - my rom is a stock odexed and I ran this (even though it said deodexed only, make sure you have some space on /system):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340083
When I ran Voodoo Carrier IQ detector, I get a partially removed state:
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.simplecarrieriqdetector
But so do people on deodexed roms:

Can you boot into recovery? Do you have the latest Clockwork Mod installed? Do you have Odin working?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357655
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052813
If so, my suggestion to you is to do a system only nandroid restore with clockwork mod. If you haven't made one, use this one to get you at least back to stock Gingerbread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337222
I do not know of a way to get those three files back short of making a CWM flashable zip of them which I would guess would work as well - I would try modify someone else's existing zip.
I hope with as much stuff as I've posted (sorry, I don't know how experienced you are) something helps - good luck!
Hi there, my friend is coming round soon and I was planning to give it a custom rom
Now, I've done this type of stuff before (on my nexus) I just want to see how you would do it for this samsung phone
Now, what recoveries can you get? I use 4EXT on mine
And, can anybody send me to a stable and up-to-date rom that can be used everyday and has nearly no issues? I need one without all the samsung stuff, just a normal default android one
And, how would I go by rooting the phone?
On mine, I used the zergrush exploit, does it work for this phone??
If you want one with everything working, then use the Froyo roms. CM7 is under development. The major bugs are bluetooth and youtube hq. Leaving that, even thats useable. It's even better than Froyo.
I suggest you to try either Kyorarom or Kyrillos v9.6. Both of them are froyo based, pre-rooted, and have other mods to make it even more faster than a stock one.
Happy flashing!

Thanks, and how do I go about flashing the rom, would I have to root it first?
No need.
This is something to good to read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1372414
BTW to root the phone use super one click root (or sth like that )
Ah, I get it now, thanks
Just one more question, does ODIN delete the phones data before installing the rom?
You have to wipe all your data after flashing(or not if from Froyo to Froyo)
I mean from recovery. ODIN don't delete user data
I exactly I don't know the working of odin, but after flashing you are directly taken to the recovery and advised to wipe data and factory reset.
I love my phone! I have a VZW Fascinate and with all the roms and tweaks it is running smoothly! My problem is I always like to tinker and I want to know there is a way back to where I am now.
Does anyone know of a solution were I can "image" my phone so I can just flash it back to 100% the way it is now?
Try using CWM recovery and making a backup
