No panic its not bricked You need to format your sdcard. There are howtos on this at the forums. After that your cwm will work but your sdcard will be empty also...

Ok, I wipe the sd card on phone and then the screen goes black and then tries to reboot. Then I factory reset. Then I got into recovery and flash a rom I pushed through adb. Then I restart device and I get stuck on the Htc logo with the red writing about development. I have tried many roms, still no luck.

Please be more exact in your explanation, which version did you use before the flash, which version did you flash.
Did you do any other alternation, bootloader?

Sei bitte genauer, welche Version hast du davor drauf gehabt, welche hast du aktuell installiert.
Hast du etwas am Bootloader verändert?
Irgendwie nehmen die ignoranten Deppn wie CSP immer mehr zu, unschön.

This is because of stock Rom and s-off combo.
Flash custom rom (just not a unmodified original), or s-on again.

Normaly you could always get back to S-on. I havent done this yet, So i cant advice you in this. But remember to check the requirments for going back to S-onn!!!
I havent noticed any disatvantage/actions from being a testdevice in any suspicious activity.
You could always clean the rom of the spycrap. Or run a deodexed stock ROM. Or a custom ROM.

You serious? Took me 1 minute tot find topic.
S-on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158514
Deodexed ROM: i have the file on my dropbox. Have too look 4 it later.
There was a topic about the 3.16 ruu where sombody made 1 of it.
When looking for the S-on i saw at least 4 custom roms that are close tot stock as possible, sense bases.

Hi,
I want to remove my friends htc one xl's branding by tmobile and flash a miui rom. After hours searching this forum(s), i have a little idea of what i have to do, like i have to unlock bootloader, some s-off thing, flash a custom recovery and then flash rom. As i come from samsung forums, i have no idea of how this works and even hours of research havent helped me out. So i would be glad if anyone could tell me what i should do to at the end i get miui. (I think flashing custom rom removes branding, doesnt it?)
Thanks very much in advance

First of all we need to make sure you're in the right place. Is the phone an Evita (One XL)?
Sent from my Evita
Unlock bootloader
Flash twrp
Flash Su
S-off
Flash anything.
Never used samsung but it seems like anyone who comes from Samsung phones tend to be ridiculously noobish. I suggest reading through the stickies in q&a and android dev and original android dev if things don't make sense to you. This phone is quirky but once you actually understand what you're doing and why, it's simple. Lazyness will brick you. Also, never root these for a friend or they will be calling you when something goes wrong. And something will go wrong.

Normal way, i think:
1/ Check your computer, have ADB and htc sync install or not, if not, download them and install them.
2/ Boot into bootloader, and check your status of hboot, build. If your hboot, build are qualified to get root, go to this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952038
3/ After unlock boot-loader, go do soff to install custom RUU:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155071
4/Flash TWRP recovery (google and download it, latest build 2.6.0.0)
5/ Install any rom you want
PS: for MIUI rom, you dont need to soff and hboot required, thats mean you just only care about: UNLOCK BOOTLOADER, ROOT, TWRP recovery.
So first, go to htcdev.com and unlock bootloader for your phone, after that, check if your phone can root or not and install TWRP recovery then flash MIUI rom.
So thats all you need, maybe it not clear too, but you need to give me some infor about ur phone, so we can find right solution. I am noob too haha
Ok, so:
1/ yes ive got adt with adb tools included; im on linux so i think no htc driver needed
Well, if i dont need soff thats good
Thx, clear guide man

I want to update the phone and lock the bootloader on my Verizon Pixel. How is this done, and is there any specific method to follow to do it without issues?
EDIT:
I am returning the phone to Verizon due to a GPS issue and I need to relock the bootloader first.
Here you go:
developer.google.com/android/images should cover you.

Hello, can anyone help me? my u11 life is from telcel (mexico) and has the sim unlocked, what I want is to install the EU Ruu to update it to Oreo, but when I try to do it, I get an error (131 Custumer id).

Without s-off it is not possible to change the cid. So it is not possible to install another ruu

I see S-OFF is related to device security preventing rewriting the partitions... Is this related to unlocking the bootlader? Or can you have S-ON (??) with an unlocked bootloader?

So, after S-OFF is available for this phone, is it going to be possible to change the CID of a device with only one partition to the CID of the android one version and repartition the device to be able to install the android one rom? Or is repartition just impossible?
Change the size of partitions is usualy impossible or can brick your device permanently. Doesnt have the sense version a/b partitions?
Convert it to USA Unlocked?
