Hello, can anyone help me? my u11 life is from telcel (mexico) and has the sim unlocked, what I want is to install the EU Ruu to update it to Oreo, but when I try to do it, I get an error (131 Custumer id).
Thank you
Without s-off it is not possible to change the cid. So it is not possible to install another ruu

I see S-OFF is related to device security preventing rewriting the partitions... Is this related to unlocking the bootlader? Or can you have S-ON (??) with an unlocked bootloader?

You can unlock bootloader without s-off using the method from htc-dev.com

So, after S-OFF is available for this phone, is it going to be possible to change the CID of a device with only one partition to the CID of the android one version and repartition the device to be able to install the android one rom? Or is repartition just impossible?
Change the size of partitions is usualy impossible or can brick your device permanently. Doesnt have the sense version a/b partitions?
Convert it to USA Unlocked?

Hi, I'm sending my HOS to have it changed and with S-Off I want it to be stock first, but I don't have any Orange rom or ruu. Do you know where to get it?
Thanks
Edit: The stock CID is ORANG309

Doesn't appear to be one. Check out this site. There's a few Europe ones...
Just try eu Orange ones
Normally they contain most used languages.
You can check the txt-file in tempfile wich cids are supported

Wow, long time ago... I suppose you are also spanish, so check out this link: http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=557781
When I sent the phone, it was with the correct rom, S-ON but I wasn't able to install the original recovery, I think. Anyway, they considered the phone under warranty, so there's no problem
Hi all!
I got superCID to complete the s-off procedure, and everything went fine.
Now can I stay with superCID or it is safer to restore the original CID?
Thanks
I stayed with scid without problems...

I'm wondering the same, although after changing to super cid, I haven't continued to s-off. At the time there was an unanswered question regarding a few of us whose phone model is PJ04011000. I'm not sure this was ever answered in the Face Palm thread (post 818). Or ... what would I need to do to obtain s-off via Moonshine method. Appreciate any help!

Future updates on stock, i would advise to check twice before doing it on supercid.
Updates on custom roms is no problem.
Depends what your original cid and mid was/is. ( assuming s-off is done)
If its a branded eu device. Then i would unbrand it. (even when not on s-off)
There should not be a mid conflict.
If its a unbranded eu device. Change back to original. Or compatible with a common/general wwe ruu.
Most usa devices have a different mid then the eu devices and are almost always branded.
Fully unbranding these is still troublesome.

That's some insight into CID.
I don't have an RUU of JB for BM_001 and want to change to some other CID using s-off.
Can I receive official updates after S-on and flashing the new RUU? or will there be a problem?

If you just want jb and dont mind that your on stock bell rom.
Just s-off, then change back cid to original (as far is i know always 8 digits, check via fastboot with getvar all command)
Then run a older bm ruu. And just do the otas till, your on jb.
Afterwards you can always, change to a unbranded one if you want. there are guides enough on this forum.

only way to get s-off is to use sunshine which is a $25 fee. I just got my A9 today and used it with systemless root. works well. purchased for my M9 also.

Nop no need for S-OFF for flashing a custom Rom, it's needed for people who want to use stock backups from other builds (like for unbranding) or someone with European model who want to flash a US Rom, but the incoming Rom for A9 (WNC one) will have both versions available so no need.
S-OFF gives you the opportunity to flash FW updates from any other region so you get them days or weeks before official release of your region

is the bootloader of the htc u11 life(android one) easy to unlock like the nexus or pixel bootloader?
or do you have to do it on htcdev?
but on the htc site you can't find the u11 life?
or will it be possible to unlock the bootloader later?
thanks for answering!

Just go to the bottom and choose all other supported models
i get stuck at the command prompt step. I downloaded the android studio, the sync manager, and have the java updated.
Just follow the Commands on htcdev. Took me 5 minutes to unlock.
All I needed was ADB and Drivers for Windows
