Amazing Phone - First Impressions

I had this phone for few hours now and it is unbelieveable fast and responsive.
The screen is better than in my previous Galaxy S 4G and actually feels better and more responsive. The colors are unbelieveable and more natural than SGS4G. Black colors will not make me return this phone at all.
Thr speakers are super clear as well. Actually got surprised by how clear the sound is.
Data speeds and reception have been great as well.

i love this phone and yeah there are some down sides (plain jane vanilla android) its got alot of support behind it!!!!!

Agree, love it so far.
I love my Nexus One but couldn't resist this puppy. And so far I love it. It had a quadrant score of 2340 out the box.

T-mobile has the best customer service of all the time. I called today and I was 9 month into my contract with 3 vibrants on my account. I was offered new g2x and renewing my contract. I told them that other lines dont care about this phone but they might be interested in some phones that are soon to be released. And the rep told me just call back and they will give me full phone upgrading option to my other two lines. Cant be happier and cant wait for the ups truck now!

Did you call to cancel your service or did you speak to the sales department?
In my experience, the sales department would never make an offer like that so I'm guessing you were threatening to cancel unless you got a deal like this.

I actually talked to CS first and told them the problem that I was having with GPS on my vibrant and then she connected me to some other department(customer loyalty I believe). Then I nicely explained the stiuation with the phone having GPS problems even after the current replacement that I had. And he asked me, if I might consider an upgrade and I just told him that I could give it a try to see if the next phone is better. And then I told him that I cant upgrade all three phones right now but I might in future. So I asked for G2x and he expided for me and devided $250 into four month payment + $50 rebate. (btw, I have been with tmobile since 2004)

loving it so far only 1 problem
so im loving the phone so far. coming from droid 1. havent been able to test the 4g much yet only 2g at the house. I do miss some of the customizations in my rom Sourcery from the droid one will get to porting it to this when we get what we need from the great cm. coming over from verizon obviously. my only complaint is i was under the impression the tmobile girl would come welcome me and she hasnt shown up yet

I had a chance to briefly try one of these out at the store today and was really tempted to just buy it. I currently have a nexus one so it's a huge step up. The only thing holding me back is the HTC Sensation which is supposed to come out in june. Do you guys think it's worth waiting for over the g2x?

I read multiple posts about the Sensation having a locked boot loader. I dont know how long it would take devs to get around it but it might be problem at first for a while. I would also would like to see a real world comparisson with G2x.

The sound is incredible, both in call and external. I was amazed how loud and clear it is.
Great phone thus far except I'm burning the battery much too quickly.

I'm leaving the skyrocket. Regretfully. Had to switch to my wife's Verizon shared plan. So I sold my skyrocket. It sucks. You just are great. Best forum on xda. I appreciate everyone's great attitude and wish you guys the best. Doc j is the man journal will have greats developments for this phone. And I'm glad I was a part of the best community on xda ill still be around to help answer questions. But am now stuck with the thunderbolt. Which sucks I really want the nexus. But can not afford the 299 price as my car just took a dump. Both differentials and the transmission went out so I had no choice in this switch. The thunderbolt is junk. So I'm stuck unless someone wants to donate me a galaxy nexus or droid razar lol. Haha. Its been fun folks.

sorry to hear this I have really enjoyed you being here. Don't worry about the thunderbolt, you will tweak that one to a better state, and get something better later when things settle, we both know that.
on a side note..what happened to the car

Sorry for the spelling stupid auto correct on this post thunderbolt. Lol trust me this phone sucks if u ever get veriizon don't get the thunderbolt only reason I have it is my wife had it unused so she just had to acctivate it. For me

To many mods did a launch broke the entire drivetrain. To much torque.

Lol already rooted it and have liquid asop with ice theme. Verizon lte sucks by the way. 10mbps down on there lte......60 on my skyrocket

holy carp...how much torque were you running? I was at 370/390 (ish) when one of my ringlands cracked...tried driving it home and well..I should have had it towed.
I am halfway done with the rebuild but can't finish it
I make a monthly payment on and walk by my WRX everyday knowing I can't drive it again until most likely August

Not sure how muh torque. Vf30 turbo 565cc injectors perrin 3 inchinlet. Catless up pipe ....catless down 3 inch exhaust ... walbro 255lph pump... gfb manual boost controoler. Injen intake. Tactrix tuned 21psi. Valvebody coolant bypass...recirc valve crush cap mod. Samco sport intercooler piping

The spider gears inside the rear diff broke off Nd were bouncig around in the diff case.

That definitely sucks. Hope yours is up and running before mine!

Well this sucks.
Thanks for apparently being the only one with the sense to perform a system dump after the ota update...my work would not be so distinguished with out that effort. Got to say thank for the all night enduring the boot loops for me and logcatting to get things working. Please stop by and say hi whenever. You got my gtalk. Always open to you.

Lol I have gon through my flash happy phase, I mean like a new device. As far as roms go, im on Z.E.U.S Build 5 with the ICS theme and it runs and looks absolutely awesome, dont get me wrong, I just would like to have another device is all.

I might go for the international version of the Galaxy Note, or another foreign already released phone probably commin to AT&T, I heard that the international versions usually are better spec wise

i found that the replacement for my Infuse is my Blackberry Torch. I still have my Infuse use it probably one day out of the week. I also got an iPhone, but that's to fit in with the trends. LOL.

I replaced my infuse with a Nokia E71 from Straight Talk as my main phone (I don't even know how it happened, I guess the 3 day battery life was enticing) But I know how you feel. Have you looked at the Samsung Captivate Glide? Not much better in terms of specs, but it at least has a hard keyboard for texting which is pretty cool.
I love my Xperia Play too (waits for flame war) But it's nothing really special. It's just good for NES and SNES roms really

i have been looking at the lumina 900 a lot lol not sure why never had a WP i think thats why i like it so much

60% of the smart phone users dont need a smart phone, they dont even come close to its capabilities.. All they do is games, youtube, fb...lmfao, dont waste your money.. its all the same ..

What to say to customer support.

Is there something i can say is wrong with my phone to get it replaced with a DIFFERENT phone. Its just a theoretical question I dont hate my phone but I need a "backup plan".

Makes sense. They will almost give you that phone right now on an upgrade. They offered it to me for $17 for my upgrade. But I went with the sensation.

? what exactly is wrong with your phone. I'm using phoenix blood ROM and I love this phone. Its so smooth and i can do everything i need to do. even people with iphone are jealous.

you guys needa quit being so moralistic with these corporations they screwed us on this phone multiple times and tmobile was trying to pack up and dip on us anyway and hand us over to ATnT so if the dude wants what he paid for what he thinks he deserves let him do it not like LG or Tmobile are going to go bankrupt from it or even care that one dude beat the system .. if anything i hope you do beat the system and get it cause they're some grimmey people for real

See I have nothing wrong with my phone. My phone runs great on weapon and faux's kernal. My mothers phone is being buggy though, or either she is technologically deficient. I also was hoping that the phone i was going to get was going to be supported for a while considering the fantastic specs. Anyway alot can happen in 2 years. We are most likely to see an ics port.

Personally i dont like phoenix blood. Once you use weapon, you can't go anywhere else. I am in love with the toggles and the fonts are not too tacky. Everything just works.

Agreed. You're robbed on a monthly basis from TMo. My line on a family plan is $60 a month for services that literally cost the company nothing. They could charge a fraction of that price and still make a profit margin > 100%. On top of that, TMo tried to dump a faulty device on their customers knowing full-well it had hardware problems. Don't feel bad; take everything you can from corporations and don't look back. They would (and DO) do the same to you.

I've had my share of bad experience with my G2X. Recently on kang's nightlies, I notice gps locks instantly. I've been very happy with my phone for a long time.
My one issue still remains, and its emails on stock app don't sync after 10 hours. If I can find a fix i'd be happy and giddy.
I am pretty sure the email issue doesn't exist on stock cooked 2.3.3 roms but I'm too accustomed to cm7 and the built in notifications. I refer cm7.
There are black screen of death I get but, I get by. Email just drives me mad.

More support for this phone either from T-Mobile or LG will be great. Can't complain now that I'm running BP n supercharger v6 nothing is wrong. Maybe GPS not locking fast enough but is way better than an iPhone.... can't say that I don't want ics cuz i do.... btw if u do get to beat the system I'd like to know how. Cuz I'm 1 month away from leaving T-Mobile and refuse to get 2 yr contract with them

Galaxy Nexus now $399 No Contract

The Galaxy Nexus is really cheap without a contract. Do you think is a way to clear out Galaxy Nexus-es before the Galaxy S3 comes out?
Also what do you think about getting a Galaxy Nexus vs HTC ONE X? I didn't get the ONE X because the internet speeds would've been too slow. And should I ever buy a LG Mobile Device again?

Selling my G2x for $250, and dishing out $150 more to get the Nexus. Only thing that saddens me is that I JUST bought a 32 GB Samsung Class 10 micro sd card for $35. -_-

This will probably be the reason I never get a Nexus phone. It's kind of a bummer because that current price is an awesome deal.

Man.... This is too hard to pass up. I think I might just have to order one.... Kinda wish someone would stop me lol.

Lol hilarious post man. But I know what you mean. G2x is a bomb ass phone when it works right. But I need something that's more reliable, and other than the Vibrant, Samsung has a good track record. I have a TMO upgrade this summer, was planning on using it but I guess I'll just save that and use this GN for a while.

Just messin, go for it. Don't feel like you will be betraying anyone if you get the nexus. Its your phone and whatever phone pleases you get it, don't care about what people think of you (except me) .

Lol yeah I wanted to talk myself out of it... But couldn't, sooooo I caved and dropped the 4 bills for it. Came out to like 447 and some change (damn California taxes...).
But oh well, this phone will hold me for quite some time. I'll just save my upgrade for something else down the road.

You can save the galaxy nexus for future updates that's for sure very few phone lines get actual updates, cough g2x cough, lol. The phone is good but not up to potential in slightest bit when it comes to processors these days. Congrats on the purchase though definitely!!! I would if I could.

Thanks man appreciate it. Yeah I know it's kinda mid tier now when it comes to processing and GPU power. But I kinda just wanted it for the screen and the luxury of not having to worry about updates. Hopefully I can see the G2x soon so that I'm not in much of a loss.
I will miss the G2x though. It's one of those coulda woulda shoulda phones. Great phone most of the time that's for sure!

By the time we "do get" official ICS, another version is out too. We are always going to be one version behind.
Heck, I bet only 1% of the market of android is ICS.

Hopefully Google keeps doing this, I should be ready for a new phone when the Jellybean Nexus comes out, if they keep up the trend.

If I had the spare cash to drop, I'd definitely get it. I HATED the G2x until I started flashing custom roms to it. I figure that by the time my early upgrade comes or full upgrade comes, I can just get a better phone at a better price.
In the meantime, I might actually need that money to buy a new Xbox if my continues to act up like it was on Sunday. >_<

Grr. And I just signed a contract with Verizon 15 days ago. Could use that GSM one with Straight Talk and save 75 a month.
