Hi I'm using CMW currently and I don't think It's fully setup for our phone and the issue I'm having I can't charge my phone with the power off when I try to the phone powers on when I plug it in and boots to recovery by itself. I tried koush cmw and I'm currently using mondaco cmw I think It's called same issue with both it also just feels like there isn't enough options.
I just download goomanager from the play market and I'm thinking of trying TWRP I read that the back ups between twrp and cmw aren't compatible so I'll just make an extra back up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm using TWRP now after using cwm for the last month. I think TWRP has better support for the hos. Never had this charging issue though.

TWRP is good, very nice features! BUT : It is not compatible with Aroma for now, so, as many packages (applications, some ROMs...) uses it, I went back to Touch CWM (5.8.3.1) for compatibility reasons, which is also a very good and "standard" flavor.
It works with Aroma now, I used it with the TweakMachine

I really liked his recovery--donated too--nice themes--
I installed TWRP the phone can charge with the power off now, and I like the different options more, this will hold me over until 4ext. When flashing new recoveries are battery stats lost ? Should you wipe battery stats ? Or no.

Not sure when the pros recommend it, but I wipe battery stats btw new roms--

It does charge in recovery. HTC phones more or less have the booting up into recovery problem/issue/feature??? after installing cwm. I wipe battery stats after every new rom I flash after its fully recharged.

TWRP is awesome. I've only used cwm for years. When I got this phone I gave TWRP a go and can't go back.
Flashing roms without needing to fast boot the img is awesome. The look is awesome, themes are cool. All the extra features like built in file manager, great!

I was also having the issue of not being able to charge while the phone was off without it booting into recovery. I seemed to have "fixed" the problem by turning on Fast Boot in the Power settings menu.
I may try TWRP, since it seemed like CWM always had one issue or another on my old HTC Evo, and this charging issue isn't a big thing but isn't helping me trust it
I'm using the classic non-touch cwm. I had issues restoring nandroid's with twrp so switched to cwm, which i had been using happily on my previous phones.

Hey, Im here today to give my 2 centavos ( YOU GUYS KNOW THE DISCLAIMER... ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE IS NOT MY FAULT BLAH BLAH BLAH... LOL?)
Ive been reading some threads in the Development section about how people (users) are experiencing some problems with their phones performance.
I myself experienced these problems, such as black screen, phone lag and one of the most annoying of them all is everytime i pressed the Home button it would take a ScreenShot.
If you are having any of these problems i would suggest you do as i did and flash this CWM Recovery version ----> ** http://www.multiupload.com/UCJYHKQH23 ** (Instruction on how to flash BELOW)
(*) Its version 4.0.1.4 (Its been updated so now your phone should charge even when turned OFF) (*)
Version 4.0.1.4 messes with CPU Clock... More info on this thread ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204102
To flash CWM Recovery 4.0.1.4:
1. Download the PG58IMG.zip and place it on the ROOT of your SDCARD (You should know how to do this)
2. Boot your phone into its BootLoader and after the Sd check it should ask you if you want to update, Push Vol. UP button to respond yes.
3. After it updates push the POWER button to reboot your device
4. DONE
I flashed a new Rom right after this, so I dont know if this fixes the problems with whatever rom you are currently in. (My guess would be YES? but not sure )
Why was this thread moved to Q's and A's?
You may want to remove or rephrase the statement about 4.0.1.5 messing with the CPU clock. There has been no credible statements or evidence that the recovery image is or can cause such an issue.

He old 4.0.1.4 was bad for me because it never charged while my phone was off. So I flashed to 4.0.1.5 but it kept messing with my CPU speeds. So i.update it to the new 4.0.1.4 and the two errors are fixed. I'm.pretty sure its like that for most people

I think the CPU clock "issue" is very misunderstood. The idea that a recovery image could cause (or fix) an issue like this is VERY unlikely.

Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
For me, flashing .4 allowed me to charge with pone off, but the led wouldnt light and I had to do a battery pull to reboot. Flashing .5 solved both the above issues. I believe this is a case by case basis and that either one or the other will work.
Matt
It's accepted that the charging while OFF issue can be caused/fixed by the recovery image. What I'm having an issue with is the idea that the recovery image could possibly cause an issue with the CPU clock while the phone is RUNNING. Unless I completely misunderstand how these things work, its simply not possible for the recovery image to cause that. Nothing from recovery is loaded when the OS is fully booted, so I'm having a hard time believing that there's a connection.

Known issue/bug. You can shutdown by holding the power button for 12 seconds, or install the 14 toggle mod to shutdown and reboot.

Yes you can flash recovery over each other in odin . Im using 5.5.0.4 cwm touch and its working fine. Able to do nandroid and fix permissions. This recovery is actually flashed in cwm.

Have you done any mods since, meaning no other flashes of other ics Roms after or in between. My problems all started after i flashed the cwm nandroid backup in another thread. The issues followed me until i did a darkside wipe then did the odin one click and all my issues went away. Im staying here for a while. Did my nandroid backup of this to always revert to.

This is one of the known problems that sometimes occurs with the ICS leak and most things based on it. The problem is people that think they have the "know all" answer for a fix because something they did worked for them. Just because something works for you doesn't mean it will work for averyone! So it's ok to say "well, this is what worked for me...", but it IS NOT ok to tell others that it is an overall fix or that they did something wrong because it didn't work for them like it did you.
What I have found is that everytime you flash the ICS leak (or related) you might get different results, so if you really are interested in trying to get everything working, just keep flashing until it does. It might take several tries, but keep trying. This seems to be the case for many people, but I cannot promise it will work for you.
I experienced similar results, first flash was lagged to insanity. however second flash fixed this and restored the home button funtion.
The only other thing i did after the first flash was a factory reset, which in my case fixed the home button issue. Not sure if it was freezing prior to that. I may try the cache thing but its not a burdensome enough issue to reflash again. too many workarounds to redo everything again..
Didn't realize this was so common when i posted this thread..thought it was random. Now if only someone could delete it...

Same here, though I haven't tried them all, I just went back to stock, manual debloat and a couple other mods and it's good enough for me, at least until we get real CM9 or AOSP roms.
I'm really not the type to wipe my phone and flash a new ROM twice a week. I'd rather just have something that's stable and functional, and only upgrade for big stuff.
I didnt have the shutdown problem the first time I installed the original ics leak install.
But I did after I restored a backup of it.

I'm on 1.09 hboot and after I switched From liquidsmooth Rom to viper, viper wouldn't boot. I actually has to flash kernel separately. And instead of the viper boot screen liquid smooth screen kept popping up. The Rom would boot but crash and reboot once I tried to do anything with the phone.. so maybe try flashing a sense kernel after Rom install regardless of your hboot. Also make sure you wipe everything venomtester said

"System reboots on Sense" is almost always "out of date firmware".
You need to flash a firmware.zip for Jellybean ROM's.
There is one floating about in the ViperXL thread that contains a few things you need and avoids things like hboot 2.14 etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868236
"WiFi Partition Updates".
The other way to do it is to get a first round 3.17/3.18 ota and flash the firmware.zip in RUU mode.
I say first round as many carriers are now onto their second 3.17 and they are not complete firmware.zip and lack many of the firmware files.
The first round ones are all complete.

ok guys first sry for the bad english i try my best
if you have a broken android system on your device and cant flash a recovery/rom because your battery is to low...... use this here
1. download laden.rar
2. extract the file laden.bat
3. copy the file laden.bat in your fastboot folder ( e.g c:\Android\) and you need the newest sdk-tool
4. boot your phone in bootloader and take fastboot usb ( power+vol-)
5. double click on laden.bat
6. now you battery will be load
7. maybe you must wait few hours you need ~3900mV for flash recovery
you need a unlocked bootloader
What is this?

It doesn't trick anything so much as essentially give you a sort of... running meter? of how much charge you have, then resets it to gain a bit more trickle. Seems like a stupidly slow way to get trickle charge, but if for some reason you've decided to use a recovery or similar that won't let you charge while its running, then this should net you a very slow charge. As mentioned though by pretty much everyone, TWRP renders this as unnecessary, as it can charge while doing whatever in recovery.

This is super sketch. Definitely wouldn't recommend anyone use it.

recovery: CWM
with me this was thus after a flash process I remained in bootscreen hang... mobile phone restarts repeatedly if I it switches off
so I wanted to go in recovery, however, points only briefly bootscrren in from cwm and restarts directly
for flashen new recovery was battery to low said at least bootloader and hit also every time is absent with try it to flashen
in bootscreen and in bootloader one cannot load the mobile phone
and with this programme this has clapped could charge so far I was able flash
however, lasts long
So I have just ported ubuntu touch to my fascinate and wanted to know if anyone here is interested in running it on their infuse .

Ubuntu Touch Test
1.Download base zip http://goo.im/devs/Unjust/Infuse4G/Ubuntu/infuse4g_ubuntu.zip
2. Download preinstall http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-to.../current/saucy-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip
yes it is 300+mb make sure you have space on your sdcard for it
3. Reboot to recovery wipe data and format system then flash bootstrap file first the infuse_ubuntu zip then reboot recovery may do it itself
4. in ubuntu's purple recovery flash the saucy zip takes a while to flash make sure your battery is charged
5. Note this a preview not a daily driver it is pretty cool but it lacks full features.
if it doesnt boot up go into ubuntu's recovery wipe data and format system then flash bootstrap then saucy
To update partially go to terminal on your phone and type sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade -y
the password is phablet
I am working on porting the flipped version which has more features
Yeah, my phone got soft bricked after flashing the base zip. Darn, I was excited...I guess I'll Odin it back when I have the time.

What do you mean what did it do ?
Please explain did it reboot etc ?
I did the wipes and partition formats like you instructed from CWM (version 6.1 I think, can't check ATM). I flashed the first zip and it aborted and said please flash again to confirm. I did, a status bar appeared then it rebooted to the white Samsung logo boot screen and sat there for a good thirty minutes before I got fed up and pulled the battery. Now when I boot I get the black screen with the Samsung logo and I can't boot into recovery anymore so I'll have to plug it up to Odin and repartition. I left it at home though so its gonna be a while.

The galaxysmtd isnt much different from this phone same partitions so I used their ubuntu guide

Not yet I need one of these to test on . I am working on getting Ubuntu touch not preview working on my phone I talked to Scott about the error with the build since our devices both will fail since the file is exactly the same.

I really wish I could help, I would offer you the one I have but USB data doesn't work (you know if it gets soft bricked then there is no fixing it) so for that reason I don't believe it would be a prime candidate, you sometimes can get these freedom eBay at a really good price as long as you can deal with not having something work, or if you post a thread asking to borrow someone device for a while that seems to have worked pretty well in the past here

I would be interested in helping test this as well. I'm not super experienced, but I have been flashing roms on my infuse for a while(not my daily driver, I use a nexus 4) I have no problem abusing it. I would need some details on getting started with this, and what details you need, from me to help.
I have already downloaded the files from earlier in the thread. my current recover is cwm 6.0.3.2 but I think one of the zips replaces that, right? I'm posting the info to make sure there hasn't been a problem with changing over from there.

yes i am ..
PM a link please
Thank you .
happy to help
If anyone is working on porting this, I'd also be glad to test. My infuse is doing nothing other than collecting dust right now so I might as well do something with it.
