Hi ya all.... was wondering if my current Verizon's MZ600 which has not been upgraded to the 4G LTE modem yet would accept an MZ601 3G GSM modem... or any other...?? And then i could sbf via rsd lite or flash the MZ601 files on to it....
Practical...??? Cos i didnt know about the different versions before i bought the verizon xoom... i live outside the US...

I currently have one of those dummy 4G lte modem on it....

I don't think so.. As Verizon Xoom (MZ600) is WCMDA (or CDMA - don't remeber now...) meanwhile MZ601 Xoom is GSM, which are different kind of signal.. Understand what I mean?
Sent from my MZ601 using XDA Premium HD app
yes, i understand that, but what i wanted to know was, what if i interchange the internal radio module of the cdma to the gsm, and the flash the MZ601 sbf on to xoom....
Well, I think one of the problems is the hardware, you have a WCDMA signal driver, and GSM one is different, but I think it worth the try... If not works, just reflash back
Good Luck

Just wanting to know if it will work on tmobiles 3g or 4g or will it only work on edge? Thanks
Sent from my R800at using XDA App
My o3d works on tmobile hspa "4g" speeds no problem
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA App
Yes but make sure you get the P920 model, the AT&T version Thrill (P925) will only work on EDGE.
Oh ok thats awsome now just gotta find a place to buy one ebay has them for alot anywere has them for a cheap price?
Sent from my R800at using XDA App
even with p920 there are 2 versions, tmo and att. Be careful when buy make sure to ask seller about tmo version, or look for spec that has 1700mhz band that tmo uses. att uses 850 and 1900mhz band, you don't want that one. i bought mine at

sorry can't post link. good luck
I'm thinking about trading my t mobile s2 for the skyrocket. The reason I want to do this is because t mobile is going to be getting 4g lte, does anyone know if the skyrocket will work on the 4g lte since the skyrocket has the same bands as t mobiles lte?

They are the same phone just with different firmware

I know they are the same phones but the t mobile version doesn't have lte built in like the skyrocket does

uh I believe this is wrong. They were working on using our skyrocket radio to try and activate the present but disabled LTE chip in the sgs2, but to my current knowledge haven't succeeded yet. Even with an unlock, no LTE for u...yet

flash a full tmobile odin restore on your skyrocket.
its the same device
I am about 80% certian
yeah ill pass, I'm not bricking my skyrocket. The sgs2 is exynos, while the skyrocket is snapdragon. im 100% certain.
So of I were to get the skyrocket and Odin it to tmobiles version, would it just disable the lte or keep it enabled

Tmobile LTE wont come out til late 2013. Maybe early 2014.
T-Mobile T989 is the same as the Skyrocket other than the fact that the Skyrocket has LTE, and a shifted orientation sensor, probably to accommodate the LTE.
They did a fair bit of research on this over on the T989 forums and the end result was it doesn't have an LTE modem.
Also, regarding original question, Skyrocket LTE modem probably won't work on T-Mobile LTE when it rolls out. Wrong frequencies.
I'm buying a refurbished Xoom off best buy with a model #rf-motmz600 so I'm assuming its the stingray. I would like to know if its possible to use an att sim card since its gsm compatible? I'm completely new to tablets so any help would be great.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-6
I don't think the stingray is gsm compatible. You'd need a MZ601* (everest) to use it w/ an ATT sim.
* there are other model numbers for the everest-xoom but I am not positive which... (not MZ600, 602, 604)
Alright thanks dude!

Will someone explain PRL's and how to improve signal? I have ATT skyrocket and Verizon SG3 and the skyrocket 4g is more consistent and very fast whereas the SG3 runs in 3G or 1x and when LTE is running it's still slow. Any ideas?

You know, I have the Sprint version, same problems, Ive changed baseband 3 times. Its an internal antenna issue I think

I have four Sprint devices [two are GS3s] that I'd like to use on Verizon.
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to do something like that?
Verizon says that I can't use a Sprint device, but is it possible to flash something that will make it look like a Verizon device?
Thanks- I need to know whether to try to sell these phones or not.
Don't quote me on this, but I thought Sprint devices had integrated sim cards, only accessible via mods?
Assuming I'm wrong, you'd first need to check that the radio on the sprint variants supports any of Verizon's bandwidths. From there I'm not sure. Maybe flash a Verizon ROM and test? I'll do some research when I get home and let you know if I find anything useful.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Alright, did some reading. From what I can tell, the Sprint GS3 will have limited connectivity at best. The reason being that the radios do not in fact support the same bandwidths.
Verizon's S3 supports:
LTE 750
CDMA 850 / 1900
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
Sprint's S3 supports:
LTE 1900
CDMA 800 / 850 / 1900
US Cellular version adds CDMA 1700, LTE 700/850/1700
Verizon operates on LTE at 750 (mhz?) only, so that's a definite no-go on the LTE. As far as the CMDA 850 matching up - you might get some connectivity, such as voice, maybe 1x data/3g data, but I don't really know enough about the topic to speak with any certainty.
Hope this helps.
You can't anyway because Sprint and Verizon phones are locked because of cdma regulations or something like that.

My Verizon Note 2 is unlocked factory. T mobile sim cards work fine, I've tested it, just no data because the bandwidths aren't supported by the radio.

That's different. Note 2 is hardware unlocked so that you can switch to any carrier or use any rom worldwide thanks to your root method. Not the same for the GSIII. In Adam Outler's first Casual method for Note 2, he has a video explaining just how far unlocked the phone is and what you can flash since the hardware (as in the insides) is unchanged worldwide.

Obviously. Not disputing that - in fact I was more or less observing it. He said that CDMA phones are locked or "something like that" . That statement could be misleading to some, indicating that ALL CDMA phones are locked due to "regulations", when I know for a fact they are not.

They're locked in a way that makes it to where you cannot switch to Sprint if you're using a Verizon phone and voice versa. So they are in fact locked. Not gsm locked though. Cdma phones are locked. Our phones are gsm capable.
