I'm thinking about trading my t mobile s2 for the skyrocket. The reason I want to do this is because t mobile is going to be getting 4g lte, does anyone know if the skyrocket will work on the 4g lte since the skyrocket has the same bands as t mobiles lte?

uh I believe this is wrong. They were working on using our skyrocket radio to try and activate the present but disabled LTE chip in the sgs2, but to my current knowledge haven't succeeded yet. Even with an unlock, no LTE for u...yet

flash a full tmobile odin restore on your skyrocket.
its the same device
I am about 80% certian
yeah ill pass, I'm not bricking my skyrocket. The sgs2 is exynos, while the skyrocket is snapdragon. im 100% certain.
So of I were to get the skyrocket and Odin it to tmobiles version, would it just disable the lte or keep it enabled

Tmobile LTE wont come out til late 2013. Maybe early 2014.
T-Mobile T989 is the same as the Skyrocket other than the fact that the Skyrocket has LTE, and a shifted orientation sensor, probably to accommodate the LTE.
They did a fair bit of research on this over on the T989 forums and the end result was it doesn't have an LTE modem.
Also, regarding original question, Skyrocket LTE modem probably won't work on T-Mobile LTE when it rolls out. Wrong frequencies.

Needs some good suggestions.....i finally sim unlock my infuse 5 mins ago.and my tmobile sim is working. But im gettin bad service in tmobile. Is their anymore fix i need or im missing something to make the infuse my daily phone.with tmobile service? Or no chance @all..... tnx

At&t uses different radio bands for 3g/4g. You will only be able to access the edge network.
So what do u think using the infuse in tmobile? Is it better to just get the phone thats locked to its own carrier.or the sim unlock phone?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997R using XDA Premium App
Your going to have really slow data. That's the only difference. It will still work just fine just take for ever to use the net and things like that since it will only be on edge. I'd just suggest sticking with a carrier specific phone if your worried about data speeds.
Wat phone from at&t will fully work for tmobile 3g/4g data...

Likely none - I have yet to see an AT&T phone that supported the AWS 3G band that T-Mobile uses.
Does the Galaxy S 4G get At&t 3G when its unlocked. I unlocked it and it gets at&t 3g. Is it possible?
Galaxy S 4G
Uh...did you just answer your own question?
You just said you get 3g on your unlocked SGS4G.
People are telling me its not possible. I'd like to know if it is. Mine gets it but does it really get it or is the indicador wrong?
Galaxy S 4G
Does it seem like edge network speed. You would be able to tell the difference.

Its fairly quick. Not edge at all. Anyways I guess I did answer it myself just wanted to see if it was possible. Wasn't like that before I sent it in to Samsung so idk...
Galaxy S 4G
The Galaxy S 4G has 3g speed on AT&T 1900mhz band but not on the 850mhz band, where it will be Edge Speed.
I think this was answered a long time ago in one if these threads.

Why dont you install speedtest and check download/upload speed ?
Will someone explain PRL's and how to improve signal? I have ATT skyrocket and Verizon SG3 and the skyrocket 4g is more consistent and very fast whereas the SG3 runs in 3G or 1x and when LTE is running it's still slow. Any ideas?

You know, I have the Sprint version, same problems, Ive changed baseband 3 times. Its an internal antenna issue I think
this message brought to you by my GalaxyS3

Has anyone flashed a at&t modem to a Blaze 4g yet with success? I was wanting to try, to see how my speeds would be. I am on straight talk network and had a note  and was getting 24MB download speed now using the blaze and only getting 3MB download speed. If anyone has fixed this issue or flashed a att modem please help???
was the note from TMO or at&t. If it was at&t it may have an lte radio

I don't think that the blaze has the proper hardware for lte. (%68.993 positive)

The stock modem (either UVLB7 or UVLH5) already has support for both T-mobile (1700 MHz) and AT&T (1900 MHz) bands. I used ST sim cards from both T-mobile and AT&T, and I was getting 3g and 4g (well, really 3g+) speeds from them. The highest speed on ST AT&T sim was ~6 mbps, and on ST T-mo sim was a whooping 15 mbps. The bottom line is that there are no other radio firmwares to flash.

I just think its weird how i can get suck good speeds with an att phone and worse speeds using a tmobile phone but using the same sim card.
How can you get T Mobile LTE network working on the G2X?

You don't. Our phones do not support an LTE network.
I was under the impression that the G2X had the (AWS) 4th band at 1700mh and at 1900mh.
If so why wouldn't it work?

Give it up - it does NOT have LTE. When this phone was built, T-Mobile didn't even have a clue how they were going to even IMPLEMENT LTE, let alone have any devices with support for it. Just because the same frequency is used, doesn't mean the same technology is used. The 4G in this phone is WCDMA which is totally different than LTE..
Man, why am I wasting my time.... go away and enjoy your 4G.
Guys, let's not be so harsh on OP.
To answer your question OP, the G2x does not have the hardware required to enable LTE. There is no LTE antenna, amplifier, nor chipset. The best we can get with the G2X is HSPA+ (4G). Hopefully this answers your question.
So just make sure that if they switch to LTE in your area before your contract is up....they give you a phone that works on it. Just sayin....

I'm pretty sure that they won't completely disable HSPA+ in the area if they brought on LTE.
I think, the only people left on the g2x forums are all jaded because of this phone. Don't feel to bad OP just understand that most of the people here have been waiting patiently for something good to happen with this phone for years.
