[Q] accelerometer not working + other problems - Motorola Atrix 2

I rooted my atrix 2 then changed the build.prop to optimus 2x so that I would be able to play order and chaos online.
Now my phone screen glows when it's in sleep mode and my screen won't rotate(can't tilt my phone in temple run either). Does anyone know how to fix this without making order and chaos unplayable?

Same thing happened to me. The only way I could fix it was to restore to a previous saved backup in CWM. Hope you made a backup!
I would advise against making modifications in that fashion. And always make a backup when doing so!

Force close Sacred oddessey xperia play

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with gameloft sacred oddessey everytime I start the game I keep getting the force close straight away tried playing on phone and sd card also tried clearing data and reinstalling any suggestions please

Yep, everyone on 2.3.3 has the same problem.
Same thing with Rainbow 6 as well.
I only bought Sacred Oddessey last week so I'm annoyed I can't play it now.
Just hope they fix this problem soon

I've submitted a ticket for both Sacred Odyssey & Rainbow 6 but heard nothing back yet.
I've also tipped off engadget, if these issues hit the online press Sony Ericsson & games companies may be more inclined to collaborate closer in the future and a fix for this may be faster forthcoming.
I'd suggest that more people submit this problem to engadget in the hope that they do article the problem.
Engadget will morph the news so that "Gameloft's games don't work on Android" so one has to make judicious use of the press thing.
I received a reply from Gameloft saying that they've 'resent the download links to my phone'.
Redownloaded from the links but still force closing.
I don't think that they've actually changed anything!
Yep its because of 2.3.3 because i went back to 2.3.2 and it works. I only went back because i was half way through the game!

Do you have an unlocked bootloader? Just flash the rooted 2.3.2 system .img, i did that, i prefer the 2.3.2 rom, it seems faster

I was getting this same issue. It would force close after about 5 min. like clockwork.
1)I went in and deleted the game files/ folder stored on the SD card manually.
2)Then I restarted the game and let it redownload them.
3) I then soft reset the phone ( removed battery with phone still on, then waited 10 sec-- not sure if it's completely necessary) turned phone back on.
I haven't had any issues since. Played the game for about an hour with no problem. I suspect it was a software issue. Also could be Androids OS related. Something like memory/resource management. Nor sure. Also could've been just corrupt game files from my initial download.
Anyhow, hope this helps someone. Helped me.
I'm running 2.3.2.

Yep i did the same as you . I did not like 2.3.3 either, all they have done is added more Facebook crap which i normally uninstall anyway using root uninstaller.

[Q] Random reboots

I recently got a new Inspire off of eBay and immediately rooted and flashed it. I used attn1's method to root and I've tried multiple ROM's... Only time the reboots happen are when I turn the screen off or when it turns off itself.. Also, it only happens when it's unplugged or when the LED isn't flashing. I thought it was SetCPU at first but I even tried it without SetCPU installed and it still does it. I've wiped everything, repartitioned the SD Card, cleared cache, system memory, data, etc. and still it keeps doing it. I'm out of ideas, and it's not my first time doing this either. It's not like I can go return it to AT&T or anything. Can anyone help me?

Check the kernel u r using to see if it uses any undervolting. Either way, try changing the kernel to one that does not employ and under volting and see if that helps.
Radio has nothing to do with this.
Some of the possible reasons based on my exp (might or might not hold good, but worth a try):
1. Undervolted to an extent ur hardware cannot handle (just cos it works on mine doesn't mean it has to work on urs)
2. Try using SetCPU and set min. speed at 307 (I think in many kernels this is at 230).
3. Try using SetCPU and set min speed at screen off to 230 or 307 (battery killers, but well, should help u isolate the issue)
4. Try changing the ROM u have on (if u want to use the same, try downloading it again; sometimes downloads could be messed up). But I would still recommend trying out some other ROM.
Most importantly, if u r restoring apps with Tibu, do NOT restore this time. Try not restoring any apps and data and see how it goes. It could be a case some stray app that u r restoring that is causing some internal FC that is rebooting ur phone.
And I am not sure what you mean repartitioning the SD card or why u need it for. Inspire has ample space internally that most people would never run out of it.
I think I may have figured it out! I don't think my phone likes to be underclocked... idk why setcpu jumps from 300mhz to like 768mhz and nothing in between but the lowest I could go was 768 without it restarting... What is stock speed usually cause I have a feeling my battery is about to be raped with no lube lol

Screen won't rotate, would root/flash help?

Hi all,
just bought an Inspire off CL, and unfortunately didn't reallize that the screen won't rotate. I trired recalibrating, but it kept being aborted even though I put the phone flat on the table on its back. A search turned up tons of complaints from about a year ago with few resolutions, and none worked for me (reboot, recalibrate, kill all apps with adv task killer, switch sim card, etc.)
So the big question is, would rooting the phone and flash custom rom solve the problem? Has anyone solved the problem with the g-sensor?
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
Is the phone rooted? Some roms have customizations to lock the screen and keep it from rotating. Do any screens rotate? Or is the home screen just not rotating?
Try going to home> settings> display and check auto rotate screen.
Sent from Soundwave aboard Nemesis.
Auto-rotate is checked. Apps the should rotate (e.g. Google search, email) don't rotate, and most frustrating is that games that use the g-sensor just won't work. The phone is running stock Gb 2.3.3.

If not rooted I would root and try a custom rom would hurt nothing. But make sure you use Ace Hack Kit and no out of XDA method. Also read, read, then read the Effen manual and make sure your knowledged on the steps for rooting. If you get stuck anywhere there is an IRC chat connection in the Ace Hack Kit page.
The thing about buying used phones from someone else is like buying a used car. Your basically buying some elses headache.
The other option would be to return to seller for money back, your option.
PS: If you decide to try out a ICS ROM remember that the kernels are not fully released as of yet so some games will not fully work and do have a few bugs depending on how it reacts with your phone. For gingerbread I would try a few out and see which one you like.
(Absolution 3.7 , Coredroid 9.4) lol my preference but thats a can a worms you dont want to open here on XDA by asking which is best ROM so dont.
Welcome and Enjoy the learning.
Ok, so all the reading made the rooting process seem somewhat intimidating. However, when I actually screwed up the courage to do it, it was like, that's it? It's donde in under 5 minutes, and I hardly did anything!
So the good news is that the phone is now rooted and flashed with coredroid (looks nice!). The bad news is that there's no change in the problem with the g-sensor! I'm starting to suspect that it's more likely hardware. In any case, I wonder if there are any Roms that might have a better shot at fixing the problem? Somehow I have the probably wrong impression that a custom rom that's modded from stock aren't likely to fix my problem... Any suggestions?

Yeah, if you had a sensor problem before the root and it persists after, it is more then likely a hardware issue and no amount of rooting/flashing a new ROM is gonna fix it. If you're under warranty, unroot and send it back for a replacement.

Did you look in setting for rotation display settings. Some launchers like adw launcher lets you also check and uncheck rotation angles. All roms are great in their own way, try a few on for size but I would give them each at least a week or two of testing. A day or two is not really enough to get the feel of them. You can try Absolution 3.7 , Redemption Alpha 6 (ICS) , or even go over to the Desire HD Dev section and try out - Ice Cold Sandwich 7.2 (ICS) (also dont forget to flash inspirmod as well with this one). Also these three will get rid of the stock look.
Good Luck
The phone was bought off craigslist, so no hope of return or warranty. Rotate sreen in settings has been checked, as well as g-sensor calibration (which invariably ends in abort, even after rooting and flashing coredroid. I might try absolution in a few days.
The phone is for my son, and he cares a lot more whether the accelerometer works (for games) than how nice the rom looks.
One problem I found after flashing coredroid is that even at boot up tbe email app keep crashing (without me opening the app). Anyone knows whats up with this?

Did you do a full wipe (factory, cache partition, dalvik) before flashing rom. Coredroid has a zip called full wipe 1.5 as well.
I flashed absolution, and it didn't help with the g-sensor problem at all. I put coredroid back, this time wiping data and cache, and the email problem went away. I guess my son will have to live with the g-sensor as is. Thanks to everyone who replied for the suggestions.

[Q] navigation keys

hi, i am new to this forum, i have an HTC Desire S that is rooted and has the Endymion V3.5 installed on it, i dropped this phone in water a while ago and for a while everything worked fine, now the navigation keys under the screen are inoperable, so i have to restart the phone before anything will work, is there any possibility of navigation keys being on the screen, like in ICS? I tried the oneV port on this phone and it worked perfectly.... until i wanted to go to another app, which i couldn't do! anything will do, just want it working fully again!
Daniel
hey, there is 1 rom i have tried that has the keys on the screen, im just trying to find it at the moment
Hi,sorry I can't find it anymore but what you can do is take it to a shop and get them to fix in a new post,I think it would be the screen and digitizer, hope it helps

You can enable navigation bar on every AOKP ROM. There are several ports here already as well as one build from source (my sig). But I agree that your best option is to repair your device. Good luck

Gaming Issues

OK so I've had my Asus TF300T for 2 Days now n when ever I play a game that's high graphics they seem to crash n the screen flickers
So far games that are crashing are
GTA 3
Riptide GP
Heroes Call THD
Shadowgun THD
I really cba to download n pay for more games just to see em crash
Could it be the stock Rom ?
Been hearing bad optimization with the stock Rom and a lot of people have been unhappy with it
Would I be best contacting Asus or the place I bought it from
Or would rooting and installing a Custom Rom
be better ?

So its a common issue, most people are saying its a software issue not hardware and in that case I'll wait for a way to root my TF300T
Without having to unlock it, at least then i can unroot and have full warranty back

i have been playing shadowgun and Dead trigger for the past month...quite a bit actually....and just in the last couple days i have noticed it starting to studder/freeze/crash on me....the only way i am able to play it is by dropping the graphics down to low or regular. not a huge deal since the "tegra 3" optimized graphics are a little cheesy to me.
Try using ram manager pro and set it to hard gaming haven't had a freeze since then. Before I used to do cold boot before playing to prevent freezes. So yeah it's a software problem.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2
I play dead trigger and hero's call, both run fine, even on balanced mode, though hero's call runs better on performance mode.
However, I always clear the cache and ram before starting either.
I have done a factory reset n still no look, i don't know how to do a hard reset or a cold boot or even clear out cache and ram, I'm very new to Android
Thanks for all your help Btw :good:

to do a cold boot: turn your tablet off, press and hold the power AND the volume DOWN button until it powers on, you'll see something like "wipe" and an Android icon/picture, with some text on top, DO NOT touch or press anything, after about 10 seconds it will show something like "cold booting..." (i don't remember the exact words), just leave it there and it will boot like normally. -> basically you turn your tablet off, press and hold the power button AND the volume DOWN then it will show whatever images/text just ignore them and it will boot normally, the process happens very fast.
also i think this is for this tablet only, not for every android devices,
and i'm new to tablet too so correct me if i'm wrong
but i have this issue too, it doesn't always happen to me but sometimes it happens it just keeps crashing like that for the whole day, then the next day it's ok, maybe a software issue, i already started a thread before you lol http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1828685

I use the Asus task widget (one click), to kill all the tasks, then use an app called Cache Cleaner from Google play.
