How do I get super user to give permissions? - Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G

Need some help.. kinda sorta lost
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

When you usually open an app that needs root the first time it asks from root permissions other then that I think you can go into super user nd edit the apps for permissions idk I'm correct
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium

It should ask you when you enter the application. You can amend applications you've granted or denied superuser under the superuser app itself.
Sent from my SGH-T769

I set mine to allow so it will automatically accept every time instead of prompting. I also turn off notifications to avoid popups.
Go to superuser
Preferences
Make sure everything is ticked as shown on mine. You should be good to go.

I know how super user works I have a s2 pimped out. I've rooted this phone installed cwm and installed superuser but it's doesn't acknowledge apps like add free
Sent from my SGH-T769 using Tapatalk 2

I have set it to allow automatically, but everytime I use emulator to type commands, it says "permisson denied". What can I do?

Set it back to prompt, open app, give it super user access, then go back and set it to allow. Had to do this with some apps, but not all. Once it has been given access, automatic allow should work.

Wrong UMTS signal indication on D2g [Fixed!!!]

As I already wrote on the D3 room was almost too obvious that the poor GSM signal indication was done purposely on Verizon request.
Well, now I have the proof

(The screenshot is from a D3)
Just edit build.prop and change the line
ro.mot.phonemode.vzwglobalphone=1
to
ro.mot.phonemode.vzwglobalphone=0
then reboot the phone
and your three or four stolen signal bars will be back.
I discovered it on the D3, then I tried on the D2g (with the gingerbread FW) and it works perfectly too.
Don't forget to say cheers to verizon
Good finding good job

Or try using EX File Explorer, after finished installation, go to setting and scroll till the bottom of the page, then check the root mount the file system, and you're good to go.

Polaris Office for Kindle Fire

Hello guys!
I hope this thread would not be considered as "warez". Polaris Office is currently only distributed as a pre-loaded app, for Android devices, by different HW vendors. And there is no way, that I am aware of, to be able to buy the app if you like it or need it.
I've copied the binaries needed, from my smartphone, to test the app on my KF. And so far it is working ok. No crashes.
I am attaching the files needed to install the app, if you want to give it a try.
PS: There is an "Update" option available on the Settings menu. This is not working and will cause the app to crash. Do not use it.
Install instructions:
1- Copy the PolarisOffice.apk file to /system/app. Change the permission to rw-r--r--
2. Extract the lib.zip file. And copy the content (libpolarisoffice.so and libpolarisoffice_Clipboard.so) to /system/lib. Change the permission of both .so files to rw-r--r--

I am sorry to hear that. Just to clarify, did you followed the install procedure (copying the files to /system/app and /system/lib)?
I will try to test the app using this rom on my device.

I put the files in the appropriate folder and believe i granted them access...i was a little unclear on the RW-R-R part of your description...but the files are definitely in the right spots.

[Q] GPS-less Wireless Location Problem on CM9 RC1 (OpenSensation or HyperSensation)

I'm using the following ROM (OpenSensation | CyanogenMod 9 RC1) as of 27-06-2012.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494373
Nevertheless, this problem has also happened on HyperSensation, which is also CM9 based.
The wireless location service (the one exclusively based on WiFi connection rather than on GPS) does not work at all with this ROM. I have it activated on system setting. But, every application (like Google Maps, for instance) does not recognize this service as activated. Google Maps even displays a message asking me to turn the service on. If I turn GPS on, then I can localize my position. For all other ROMs I have used with this phone (including ICS ones like MIUI, AndroidRevolution HD, for instance), this service works just fine.
I guess this is a question for the development forum, but I'm not allowed to post there since I'm a newbie in the forum. However, I have some experience flashing ROMs. Anyway, I just searched for some thread about this issue and found nothing.
Flash gapps.. it needs the networklocation.apk or something... I had the same problem before... I use root explorer to put that apk to system/apps folder then set permission and install it like normal app and reboot.
This is how the permission should be:
(Long press the apk to show option and choose permission)

Thank you very much. This issue was preventing me from using CM9. It worked just fine.

[BOOTANIMATION]Windows 8 Spinning Dots (Startup)

My favorite aspect of the new Windows 8 was the little spinning dots that would be there at startup (at least in the developer builds). Well, I decided to make a boot animation from that.

The actual boot amination runs much smoother than the gif
I made this for the G2x so it should work on any HDPI display.
To install:
Download the zip: View attachment W8BootSpin.zip
Use any file manager with Root access (ie. Rootexplorer)
Move the zip to /system/media/ and rename it to bootanimation.zip
Change the permissions to (rw-r--r--) or (Owner: Read Write, Group: Read, Others: Read)
Reboot and enjoy!
If you like this, please click thanks!
phone is not starting after doing that thing, I think i gotta reinstall the ROM !! ?

What all did you do? I have never had a boot animation cause a no boot issue.

I downloaded the zip file and moved it to system/media and then renamed as bootanimation.zip
Before that I deleted the old animation because it did not let me change the name.
I did the wipe from cwm menu phone works now without win 8 animation...

Have you tried one of those boot animation managers that they have on the play store. I don't know if that will work or not but it could be worth a try.

no I have not, but it is okay I actually does not need to add a bootanimation.

I think it needs camera permission as the infrared sensor is used for heart rate detection afaik.
Nope, forgot to mention that I've tried to enable camera permission too but no difference.

i will help you
okay i will try to help you bcuz this happened to me once with my s5 (rooted) and once with my friend's s6(not rooted) :
so basically if your phone is rooted i think you can't fix it (i tried with my s5 )
and if it is not rooted you can try 2 things :
1- go to settings application manager and find s health and click on storage then clear cache and clear data then force stop and restart your phone .
and if this didn't work :
2- you will need a factory reset(and don't forget to back up your important stuff)
'
hope i helped
Tnx for your time mate. I have rooted phone. I'll try to install superman rom (here from xda) for a weekend (only then I have free time) and will see what happens
