Beats eq question. - HTC One S

I just updated over the air from T-Mobile USA to fix the signal problem. After the update I lost some sound options from the music app. I used to be able to pick between a handful of eq settings under "sound enhancer" from the music app, including the option to chose what kind of headphones to use. I have urbeats and I no longer see the option to chose my headphones. What happened to these features? The only options now are beats audio or no beats audio.

Yea we all lose it for some reason. I don't know why the pee pee boys got rid of it... There is no more extended Beats settings as well.

Does it automatically optimize? So if I use urbeats or solo the update will auto enhance to use the full potential of my headphones?

Why fix it if its not broke?

I have not tried it as of yet, but I am looking for something to boost my speakerphone, it is terrible! Most of the apps distort the sound and make it unusable... interested in this one.
There are a few threads on this already. I have commented on all of them so far lol.
The quick and dirty is that it works for most. It works for me fine. You have to adjust the settings that fit you without busting your speaker lol.
I also use equalizer in conjunction with Volume+. Now I can hear the speakerphone. It's not perfect but it was better than it was IMO.
what i found for best results (i have it set like this on mine and my buddies)
Speaker option checked
volume boost is at +12
equalizer is on good quality
bass boost is on +5
as far as using the equalizer app and volume plus, i dont recommend it. usually causes slightly more muffled music in my opinion.
Thanx for the feedback guys, wot bout eq settings?

Just to throw my 2 cents in, Volume+ has little to no difference... I'm still searching for something similar to GalaxyS VooDoo Sound Hack.

The Rom has beats in it
Launch the default music app & play any song you should get a option in the notification bar allowing you to enable or disable beats
If this does not happen try pressing the menu soft button in the player when the song is playing then choose sound enhancers & choose beats
There is now a flahable zip available for any sense Rom to have beats

I am trying beats audio now on Hyperion Rom.

Similar thread to one in the General section. Here's my post from that one;
Beats Audio is basically Dr. Dre's idea of what EQ settings you should have when some Beats Audio high performance equipment is plugged in. A stock phone with Beats Audio (Sensation XE) will detect the official Beats headphones (somehow) and Beats Audio will apply a certain EQ.
It's not like beats audio means it has any special audio processing hardware. It is simply an EQ tailored to get the "best" sound out of a specific set of headphones (and make Dr. Dre more ‘paper’). If you are not planning on using Beats headphones, then it is kinda redundant. I'm simply curious to see if this EQ is better than my custom one using PowerAmp. (PowerAmp is also currently running a 2.0 Beta from their website. Check it out.)
I have yet to test it myself, but I would imagine that unless you are planning on splashing out £100+ on Beats headphones, you are best of sticking with using PowerAmp and it's awesome equaliser to tune the sound to best suit the headphones you already have. Much Cheaper! Also the hack that needs to be applied, so that beats activates with any headphones can't possibly apply a different EQ for each set of headphones. It'll be one fixed bass/treble tweak designed to compliment the Beats headphones bundled with the Sensation XE. That's the best reason to get the XE. Those headphones would normally cost over £100 and are meant to be very good.
Since we are on the topic, we all know the headphones supplied with the Desire S are shocking. I can highly recommend the a-Jays One. IMO you'll not get a better sound for £20! Plus the cable is truly tangle-free! I'd have been very happy with these had they cost me £60.
(Also wins the prize for the most over-packaged product I've ever bought. The case is good for keeping anything you want to survive the nuclear apocolypse.)

I tried beats, tbh not much if a differnce with my senheiser cx-200s. It jut amplifies the sound quality a but, and makes the music sound 'brighter'
Still yet to try it on my friends beats solo HD pair.
My senheisers broke, (keeps losing conncetion) so I'm looking for a new pair. Will check out your review for those headphones!

[Q] Dre beats media player on sensation

I have a sensation and I was looking to upgrade my media player tobthe dre beats branded player. Is there a way to do it? Or would my best bet be to just wait for the ics update since ics introduces music equalizer into the os?
Sadly the sensation won't get beats audio MOD, as far as I have heard. But you can install a custom rom, which includes that MOD. But to be honest it isn't that good.
Is the dre beats app just like an equalizer on roids?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
No, Beats audio mod is an addon which is featured in the current HTC phones, the sensation is the one without it. But you could flash a ROM, which includes it. But I wouldn't recommend that, as it isn't worth taking a risk bricking your device, for something stupid as that.
Oh ok I have yet to root my sensation because I know HTC is building a stable ics update. So basically it'll be better to just wait for ics and use the equalizer built into the os?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yeah, that is one way to say it
And one more question for you, and im out of your hair. I currently have a rooted evo I use it to listen to my music. Its rooted with cyanogenmod and I use a good pair of skullcandy headphones i keep bass boost enabled is that pretty much the same outcome to dre beats? I mean I understand dre beats are clearer but in terms of volume and bass?

Low volume tips and tricks?

What's up gang...I'm new to the Sensation (just picked it up yesterday)...and have been trying to look for tips on how to increase the speaker volume.
I'm using Volume+ pro....but doesn't seem to help much. Suggestions?
I'm all stock for now.

I have volume + and it works really well. On +20 volume setting I have to tweak the frequencies down individually as it is too much for the speakers to handle. At +20 with all bands at under 100 I get really loud ringtone with no distortion. It works far better than dsp manager. Am running reverted aosp rom with bricked 1.6 kernel on my xe.

SRS Enhancement is also great at improving speaker quality/volume. Comes in the HTC Music player.

Sound Enhancer Settings Gone?

I'm not sure why, but the only setting I now have under Sound Enhancer is just turning Beats on or off. This happened sometime after I updated to the new firmware. I'm not rooted. Completely stock, just using the Apex launcher. Anyone know what could have caused this and how to get the settings back without a factory reset?
Thanks!
Pretty sure this was HTC doing, don't have them on custom roms either.

I wonder how someone would go about re-intergrating the old sound enhancer settings. I loved beats ur beats setting. That got LOUD and made my system pound hard!!!

Just use audio player with equaliser and well-made headphones.
Poweramp. Nothing beats it
Ok, good to know it wasn't just me. Equalizer apps it is I guess. Thanks for the info!

You just got lucky..yeah..that is the 'new menu' in the new base/firmware update..I have used InsertCoin with the new base, and the sound enhancer menus are just like that..no need to worry..
