Life of root - HTC Sensation

HTC sensation 4g will root means how long give cell life
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA

No rooting gives you access to a deeper part of the devices system. You can change things with root access that you were not all allowed to change before.
That is what rooting is. Giving you access to a deeper part of the device system. I hope this helps some.

It wont lower the life of your phone unless you overclock

Over clock means?

Increase your CPU Speed. Sensation comes stock a 1.2GHz, but you can overclock to increase it to speeds as high as 1.8GHz.
GPU Overclocks are also available.

Hi,
If you have HBOOT 1.18.0000, you can use revolutionary in my sig (s-off)
The only problem you might encounter is the fact that your phone is running at 1.5 ghz.
Make a NANDROID backup in case the kernel gives you problems.
otherwise you should be able to run roms like the rest of us.
Cheers buddy, is the proccesor a different chip? It's dual core so it has to be doesn't it? Can't just be over clocked? Has a dev got his hands on one?

Hi,
No,essentially, it's the same hardware.
Ours came out underclocked at 1.2 ghz.
Yours came out at it's native speed of 1.5 ghz.
The devs have worked their magic along with the kernel makers to bring it back up to speed and then overclock to 1.78 ,1.9 and even 2.0 ghz.
As far as I know you will have to read through the forums to see if a Dev has got an XE.
It's still quite new, and as such, still a fair amount uncertainty.
Patience.
We had to wait a while till ours was s- off.
Thankyou. I was under the assumption the sensation was single core. So the difference is the bigger battery and the headphones, witch I plan on selling anyways lol

Hi
Hi,
I appreciate that you are nervous.
Best thing to do, is watch the threads and see how the XE develops

Hi,
reboots are generally kernel related.
Make a nandroid backup and try bricked or faux one.
Check the Dev forum and type "kernel" into the search button.
I got my XE last night and had it rooted with super CID within an hour! Loving it so far! Still on stock rom until i see something that interests me!

Hi,
Please report successes or problems with any custom roms you choose to install.
A lot of people are watching this space.
BTW ARHD working very well on my phone.
Check my sig.
Bump has anyone installed any custom roms yet? I won't have chance till Sunday, come on xe users show your self

for me, i'd choose sensation than sensation XE.. not worth the money.. just install custom rom and overclocked, buy chichitec batteries or evo 3d or an anker..
Beats headphones worth £100 plus the extended battery and I think it's a slightly better looking phone not really much price difference,

hAHA... dont be affraid.. i just root my xe.. its all ok. but i want some kernel can overclock to 2.0ghz or more.. my xe only can oc to 1.9ghz max.. i want more...i just use custom rom arhd 3.6.11 and costum kernel is bricked_XE-1.6_b7. anyone.. someone can help me plzzz!!!

Monitor CPU Speed

Is there a good program to monitor my CPU speed? I have a HTC sensation with the Android Revolution HD rom set to 1.56 GHz with the included daemon controller. But want to know what speeds its hitting and when.

U try the system panel app from the market? I think its a paid version but you can see the speed of the processor.

I have to ask, is it causing an issue ? If not ignore it.
Some RAM is dedicated to GPU, system processes etc. It's not doing any harm in fact it actually makes the phone faster

Oh my another "OMG MY RAM IS LOW WHAT TO DO" question The lower it is the better it is alright.. No worries!

That's not true. Swap your 500 for 100 and you tell me your results.

He meant the lower reported value of total RAM the better because more of it is being used by GPU and system processes so therefore giving a performance boost.

I meant the amount of free ram available yes Wrote it on the run so missed that part lol

Kernel question

I applied the 1.76mhz kernel overclocked and ubdervolted and I want to know is it safe to overclock to 1.76? And if so what should be the minimum... Also is it safe to force both cores to run with system tuner pro?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G with Beats Audio using xda premium
Should probably be okay but if you find your phone getting hot and rebooting then lower the clock speed. 384MHz should be ideal for a minimum.
Is there an advantage to forcing both kernels to run?

You mean both cores? IMO, not really as the second core activates when needed i.e. when playing a game so forcing the second core just wastes battery really.
