HTC explorer form - General Topics

All HTC Explorer users please post here for a HTC Explorer forumbin xda developers...please do stress on my point.
This is the best device in the given price and against similar rivals. This device has enough potential. Please create a forum so that more developers can participate and improve this device.
I am new here..if moderators feel this post is not legitimate then delete it but do create a forum for this device.

There is a stick for requesting new forums please use it. And just so you know have a forum will not bring developers. Developers are people who have the device and want to make it better so they dug in and learn and do it themselves

Forum newbie rules!

I have in the last few months purchased a htc desire to replace my motorola dext (cliq).
With my previous phone I have plenty of modding experience (if anyone knows anything about the cliq they'll understand)
But due to the rules here I am unable to offer my advice and knowledge wih rom issues, of which there have been a few with desire roms.
If any mods read this, can you please remove the restrictions in place on my account, so I can participate actively in the htc desire development section, and be able to help out fellow modders.
Regards
Ryan

Running in to the same issue with Xoom.
I've been working on this for over a year but I can't post cuzz of the newb rulls.
As far as I'm concerned we're all here to learn from others and let others learn from ourselves.
This is the only android forum I've come across with this ridiculous rule in place, restricting the sharing of knowledge because I'm deemed too " inexperienced".
Just because I'm new too XDA obviously means I'm new too android as well. Its a joke.

Guys, it is so easy just post 10 postings (you can do that in an hour) and all restrictions are removed. It is easy as saying in a posting "i agree" or " wow, interesting" do 10 pointless postings and you are good to go
Thanks for the advice, but its not really the point.

Done 10 and still restricted, wtf?

It can take up to an hour for your privileges to change.

Don't make pointless and meaningless posts outside of Off-Topic.
Also, try to contribute
I am in the same boat wanted to post but I guess Ill need 9 more
interesting
interesting ;-)
the only posting limit before 10 posts is development areas. (about 1/6 of the forums)
if you are a developer, use you vast knowledge to help 10 people
if you have a question about something in development ask your question in Q&A
but search first. it is better to reply to a pre-existing thread than to start a new one!
(this thread case in point)
there is no reason to complain or spam post " i agree "
Interesting! (sorry, needed 1 more)

That rather highlights the foolishness of having a 10-post restriction. Just about anyone will look at this and go, okay, let's just post 10 worthless messages and get around the restriction. In the end it does nothing to promote a better quality of user while at the same time clogging up the general forums with messages that are a complete waste of time and disk space. Like this one.
10 post restriction
I agree totally!
9 more to go!
And now theres people wanting to change off-topic to also having the 10 post restriction? I dont get it

A space for HTC Explorer

Well, I've just joined XDA. And as I see, we don't have a forum for TC Explorer user, and that's a problem with me. XDA is one of biggest places for developers, so why don't we make a space for HTC Explorer?
Sorry for my bad English

Yeah.. there should be a separate forum for HTC EXPLORER as it is quite a decent entry level android from htc and deserves appreciation as a separate thread...

Seconded and thirded (if that's a word)
Does anyone know where to look/what to type in to bring up any roms made for the HTC Explorer?
My Mum bought one of these phones and is having difficulty navigating the menu, she has asked if I could put a Samsung Galaxy or Nokia type theme/rom onto it for her.
Really, this is a good phone, one of my friend has this phone and wants to customize his phone, but is not able to, is CM7 available?
Before you ask, I have used the search function on forums and it has confused me.
There is already a section for this

How do I get set CPU app.

How to I go about getting the free CPU set app for my sensation?

Set CPU is a paid app as far as I know.
Check out System Tuner. Free in Play Store:

Yes any link or info on how to get a paid service or paid software for free will be considered warez and will be removed from XDA. And the member that posted it will receive appropriate disciplinary action from the Mods and Admins.
I thought set CPU was free to download from xda?
Oh and op no offense but you ask far too many questions, just looking at the q&a section one of every 4 questions is from you for the last 2 or 3 pages. There is a search function and many of your questions have already been discussed on various threads. I'm not trying to be a moderator, just trying to remind you that there is search tool and that it is quite useful

Sorry for the double post everyone, but here is a link to the SetCPU app. It is free to XDA members but it is a paid app on the Play Store.
Now at DLittle2012 the OP of this thread and the other thread, "I overclocked my sensation to 1.566 and its stuck.", originally started about not being able to undo the overclocking on their device. There was no need to start two threads, and I simply went to the Apps and Games Subforum of Android Development and Hacking forum. Then typed "SetCPU" into the mini view of the XDA search and within a minute and a half I found a two post thread that had a link to the SetCPU thread.
XDA has a search feature. People Please use it!

On top of that, xda has a thanks feature use that too, I just saw your profile you haven't given a single thanks yet you have over 100 posts (many of which likely were spoonfed questions). We are all happy to help people that doesn't mean we want to carry you on your backs for something as simple as flashing rom
Sent from my sensational sensation 4g
Yeah man search some before starting 10 q&a threads. Every question you asked are pretty easy to find if you look. I'm with T-mac and yahhboy we're willing to help but plz look before posting a new question. Everything you've asked has been answered before.
If I were to guess your trolling to get your post count up.
PS system tuner is better in my opinion. I bought the paid version because it was so well made.

This. nothing more, nothing less. Although it is 2.24 compared to the market version of 2.3+. It works well even though the free one is outdated.
I apologize for my stupidity.Im very sorry to all of you that I have bothered.

O.k. I would like to say that none if your CPU setter or tuner apps worked.I had to completely remove the app and download the Rom again and reinstall it because I couldn't flash the version I backed up because its permanently stuck at 1.566.

Sent from my thumbs to ur eyes
I think he means setcpu and there actually is a thread about it with free download somewhere on XDA, no warez.
Unfortunately I can't search on my phone to good but OP, just use the search function, it'll pop up for sure.

WTF... try this...
And how did this end up in the "Themes and Apps" forum...
The dev allows setcpu to be distributed for free on xda for members

There is a free version here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419
Version 2.2.4 is the last version that posted and made available for free on XDA.
You just need to extract the .zip file.
And yes please use Q&A.
Regards.

Did I miss the memo? Where the heck is DragunKorr?

All of a sudden, DK's ROM threads disappear from development section?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2058034
I here he is developing elsewhere. I read in post if you google it, you possibly can find him. Hope this helps, best wishes.
