New- can't post in dev forums - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I need the sense 4.0 mail apk. I use icloud email as my secondary and the basic email app is not allowing configuration. Running cleanrom 3.0 dev edition. Thanks in advance.

Here is the apk

Here is the odex
https://www.dropbox.com/s/44p7bmeok2p5hg0/Mail.odex

Try this, I pulled it out of cleanROM SE.

First of all this belongs in the Themes and Apps forums
Secondly, you need the APK that Metalhead posted since you need the deodexed version (since thats the type of ROM CleanROM DE is, correct me if I'm wrong as I've never tried it).

Sorry for posting wrong forum. Like I said I'm new here. Anyone want to move it? Or tell me how to.

Good thing you couldn't post in the development forums, you'd be covered in flames right now

Burnt up indeed haha. This apk fails at install so it is a lost cause for now.

You can't install it, it is a system app. Either adb push it to system/app or use root explorer to move it there and be sure to set the permissions. Reboot when you're done and it should work fine.

What should the permissions be?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

The same as all the other apks in /system/app. rw-r--r--

I think what he is trying to say if you don't know how to do that boot into recovery after placing the file in system directory then go to advanced then fix permissions reboot should be good to go after that

No need to do that. Just long press on the apk from within root explorer and hit the permissions option. Set them there.

Simple, but pretty neat.
Thanks for the link.
Great stuff, this can be flash via recovery?

No it is not flashable. You have to move it with a file explorer app. Place the file in /Data/Local, then reboot.

Your moving the whole .zip file to /data/local, correct? If you extract (like I did the first attempt) it won't work.
Yes... ermm I think lol. Will try again to make sure.
So cm's splash screen shouldn't override?
And thanks for the quick reply
Sent from my Nexus One using xda premium
Nope... the file must have been extracted automatically. Its the .exe that I moved.
Hmmm so what do I do?

The downloaded file should be bootanimation.zip, once that file is downloaded. Move it to /data/local. Do not extract it. Hope this helps.
Yea so I have two data folders. One on phone (which doesn't have a local folder) and one on my SD that also does not have a local folder.
Got the bootanimation.zip... just don't know precisely where to put it this seems extremely easy and I can't make it work lol

When you open what ever file explorer you use. If it doesn't already start at the root folder on your SD card. Go to it, it should look like this
Then click on Data, then Local folder. Place the bootanimation.zip there. Hope this helps.
very nice! Thanks! will make a few of my friends jealous hehe
You can flash it through clockworkmod as well. Looks pretty.
I used astro and when to root and i went to data and there is no local folder
Running CM7
Exactly my problem... going to try flashing through cw

Someone requested this in the wrong forum, and just as I was going to post it, someone else locked the thread instead of moving it (like would have made sense). Either way, here it is.

Thanks buddy! I'm guessing this apk enables rooted devices to create mobile hotspots without paying tmobile..
It's the stock app, but with a custom APN you can tether with or without root.
Add a custom Access Point Name, name it whatever you want and set the apn to epc.tmobile.com, save it and set it as default. Tether away.

Not able to install it, lets me change permission but fails to install it

What is it saying? App not installed after attempting, or something else?
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium
Yeah app not installed with a red x
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
Is because it's a system app. Push it to system/app and fix permissions, then reboot.
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium
I got it in system/app, changed permissions rebooted and no go, or do you mean fix permissions in ROM manager ?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
It shouldn't matter how you fix them, as long as they stick through the reboot.
You can try going into system/app and installing it from there by clicking on the app. Might not work, though... Might be something else you need. Maybe an odex file, but I don't have root, so I can't pull mine.

Probably have to change permissions.
Are all these apps different than the current ones?

Yes. Many do not work because they require JB. Basically anything that needs to be pushed into system/app rather than simply installed doesn't appear to work.

How do I make a flashable zip?

Can someone show me how to make a flashable zip please? All I wanna do is take some apks I themed and flash them through twrp. I Googled how to do it and the guides give you a template where you just drop your apk in there and flash it but every time I try to flash it it fails.
Can someone maybe show me how to create it from scratch with the update scripts? People post flashable zips all the time on here so I'm sure someone knows how to do it.

If you have the apks all you gotta do is use an app like root explorer and.push the apks manually into the system changing the permissions accordingly. Would be much easier that way

I know how to do that and it works that way but I have a bunch of apks I themed and I wanna make a flashable zip so people can install them all at once.
I asked similar question in android themes and here is the reply, hope it helps you
Here you have a empty Update Script.

You can put your apk inside.
Dont sign system apks!

I think I know why I can't make a flashable zip right or why it fails. I think it's because of the permission being wrong. Does anyone know how to set the permissions of an apk file before it's on the phone? Do I just have to sign it with apk manager or something?
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app

App2zip
Available at the store, and free
Attached is a empty flash zip that will work on our phone the proper folders are in place to add apks to the system apps.
When adding apk to a zip you must create a folder path like system/app then place the apk inside the app folder so you would have a folder in the zip named system then inside that a folder named app inside that the apk or apks if they are system apps. You do not need to set permissions. When zipping the file when done just highlight the folders inside the extracted zip not the whole zip. ie. META-INF and system folder then right click select send to then compressed zip name the zip what ever you want then flash it.

World clock apk

Could someone link me their worldclock.apk? For some unknown reason my whole clock app has just stopped working and I cannot open it at all. Just force closes. I even tried reinstalling from system and it just tells me "cannot install app" I have no clue what is going on and this will be a last ditch effort before I wipe everything lol. Thanks.

Do you still have the Rom on your sd card in your phone. If so just extract the apk from the zip with root explorer and paste IN system/app with rw-r-r permissions and reboot
