Possible brick - HTC Sensation

So the story is I got this phone for tmobile and updated to ICS from OTA and then after that i did a recovery, in a attempt to root i could not turn s-off since it was using hboot 1.27.0000 so i unlocked the bootloader and flashed CMW recovery and flashed a zip file to root it...after that i flashed a MIUI rom...now I am stuck at HTC screen....
I can get into hboot and into recovery and flash any room how ever it still stuck at htc screen. I tried RUU and i get error 155 and PG58IMG wont work
am I screwed?

There is no s-off for your hboot i think which makes it so you can't flash roms.. well you can but it gives you a semi-brick..
I think running a RUU should do the trick not sure on this one tho someone confirm before op proceeds.

No your not screwed you need to go to your pc or laptop and you will need to have a copy of the Rom.zip you flashed and unzip it and when thats done you will the folders you will see a folder that will say kernel open it up and scroll down and you should see a boot.img you Will then copy it to the same folder that contains your adb driver and fastboot drivers in you will then open cmd and typ your commands to get your fastboot drivers working and then typ fastboot flash boot boo.IMG let it flash then typ fastboot reboot and watch the magic thank me later

I am suprised no one else caught this, but there is a S-off for Hboot 1.27.0000
Juopunutbear S-off. Just follow this guide and or use this tool.

Yes you can s off but if you don't slow down and pay attention to what your doing you will end with a softbrick

[Q] Downgrade from android 4.0 to 2.3 on sensation

Hello xda users.
I want to root my sensation, and therefor i need to get it from android 4.0.3 to 2.3 so it can be possible for me to do.
My HTC
HTC Sensation Z710e
Android 4.0.3
Sense 3.6
Softwarenumber 3.32.401.5
Here is the thing, ive looked around for hours on filefactory.com
put i cant seem to find a file that can put my sensation back to stock rom, so i can start root it. Could any of you be kind and help an noob out here?
Are you S-ON?
Yes S-on ..
you can root your ICS with S-On
Go to htcDev and unloock your phone
flash in a new recovery using "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" using the recovery.img file extracted from PG58IMG.zip
then using cwr flash the updatede SU
Boom! your root
using htcdev unlock whill wipe all your programs and settings AND void your waranty. and u might brick your phone
AND FYI u cant downgrade your Hboot if u are S-ON and the new 1.27 is imposible at this time to get s-off
i will go do that asap ..
Thank you for your quick answers ..
Best regards

THe line "then using cwr flash the updated SU", can you explain further please?
Use CWM (Clockwork Mod) to flash the SU package - if you don't know how to do that then don't even try
i do know what that is, its just my english isnt that well.
i went to htcDev, and unlocked my sensation.
then i got rom manager on android market and tried Flash Cwr but im stuck at here..

ROM Manager needs root to function, and since you don't have root yet you'll have to flash the recovery through fastboot. Then you can install Superuser through your recovery.
But wait, you want to downgrade to Gingerbread? You won't be able to do that since your device will still be S-ON, and Gingerbread won't boot on HBOOT 1.27 (necessarily for ICS).
So the thing Maydayind said about
"you can root your ICS with S-On"
What did he mean with it ?

Virtuous inquisition 4.
For sense ics roms id go with mike1986 arhd 6.5.3 rom.
So what u need to do is root ur sensation
Supercid
Flash 4ext recovery. Its an apk and easy to do
Upgrade ur firmware to 3.32. Flash in bootloader.
Need mike1986 superwipe script
Rom of your choice.
Boot into recovery. Flash the superwipe. Then flash ur rom. Quick run down of what you need to do.
Skill required? Not much. The hardest part might be using adb and fastboot commands for the supercid. Other than that its easy as pie

thanks so much,so now the supercid i read up on it while requiring s-off and root thats alil confusing but ill read up on it again and the superwipe ive been seeing that on rom threads "flash superwipe" what is that and where would i get it?
and i need a big help,i tried upgrading my firmware to 3.32 and it said "wrong cid" "fail" now its stuck on the htc logo and bootloops help please :'(
Superwipe is down toward the bottom of OP of this thread. It leaves you with a very very clean phone. So no apps, no user data, no ROM. You'd want to have a nandroid backup at the very least before superwiping, as well as titanium backup for your apps etc. You just flash superwipe from recovery like a ROM (install .zip from sdcard).
Sounds like you've got hold of the wrong firmware for your CID. So you either need to know your CID (if you've got your head around adb and fastboot commands, "fastboot getvar cid" will get that for you) and find the right firmware, or supercid your phone so you can use any firmware. Go to this thread for firmware.
For your firmware there's a file,
android.txt, that has a list of CIDs. The T-Mobile CID usually isn't in it. If you do the superCID you shouldn't have to worry about it. Other wise you have to open the file located in the PGM581000 file and add CIDT-MO010 to the txt file. Either way make sure you delete the PGM file immediately after you flash it.
Sent from my HTC Sensation ICS 4.0.3 ARHD 6.5.3XE. Rockin'
Go to the dev thread for ROMs, ARHD is my preference. Good directions and all the files you need linked right there. Well most ROM threads are that way but this ROM and firmware are smooth and flawless.

This is misleading and not really true. First of all, VI is not true AOSP but Sense with most of the obviously sense parts removed. Secondly OpenSensation CM9 is hands down the best true AOSP rom and now that it has bluetooth and 1080p camcorder there's virtually no reason to use a senseless sense rom like vi.
to everyone that has tried to help me on this, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! giving me all the infos and quick break downs..
now i do have my phone up and running again but heres what i did..

CID is carrier identification. The thread you downloaded your T-Mobile firmware from contains firmwares for a variety of CIDs, in other words, specific to whichever carrier your phone came from. SuperCID removes that form of 'branding' and allows you to flash any firmware file, if you look through the list of firmware they can all be flashed to a device with CID 11111111. So essentially we superCID for convenience.
SuperCID has no bearing on what ROMs you can flash, the only consideration is that a particular ROM will require a certain firmware, eg. ICS ROMs need 3.12 base or higher.

Almost. SuperCID and custom recovery you can do no worries. Firmware upgrade will depend on what stock ROM is currently installed, if you flash firmware that your stock ROM isn't compatible with you will get bootloops and most likely have to downgrade. So personally I wouldn't be looking to upgrade firmware until you intend to flash a ROM that requires it. At that point you'll want a custom recovery anyway so it won't hurt to install that now.

Thanks. I'm currently on the T-Mobile Sensation 4G stock ROM S-Off/Rooted. Will going to the 3.32 firmware wipe the stock ROM or cause bootloops for sure?
I also have ClockWork Recovery from a really long time ago. Using ROM Manager to flash a new recovery (trying to update) does nothing. Why does that happen? Perhaps my recovery is too old?

I'm would assume your 4G would already be running ICS? In which case you probably already have up-to-date firmware installed. The firmware update generally applies for people coming from GB to ICS. Go to Settings/About Phone/Software Information/More/Build Number and see what numbers you have there.
Flashing firmware will not wipe your ROM, the worst that will happen is bootloops if the firmware and ROM aren't compatible.
The recovery you have now shouldn't stop you from flashing a new one, instead of using ROM Manager try downloading 4ext from the Play Store and see how that goes.

Ok so i had an ICS rom running on my sensation and then i saw the virtuous incision rom and i wanted it. so i updated to 3.32 and i wiped data, dalvic, and cache and then flashed the rom but it just keeps looping. Are you soff?
If not and you are htcdev unlocked
Then you need to extract boot.img from the rom zip file (usually in kernels folder)
Then you need to flash the boot.img via fastboot
Command

So there's no problem... When you said you had ics rom you might have 3.32 firmware.. Why update it again? Any ways what's your hboot saying now? post all the stuff in hboot..
Also I recommend you to do a factory reset / wipe all partitions except sd card... From the custom recovery you have and flash the rom again... If you are on 3.32 then you should not have any problem

and i updated because i thought i needed to for the new rom, i see now I'm an idiot Dx
also
I tried flashing the rom again after wiping like you said, and i just got to boot loop again D:
Then the only reason Is firmware is not properly flashed... Get the 3.32 firmware from this thread and flash it again...

Make sure the name is fine.. It should be PG58IMG if you are using windows..And keep it on top of sdcard..
Then hboot should automatically find the update (try this couple of times)
If it still doesn't work. Get 3.24 firmware from the same link and flash it and see
Btw you are supercid right? Also the hboot you posted earlier is fine.

Do one thing right now you got virtuous rom right.
Try to do a restore from backup... From your custom recovery.. I assume you have Nand backup..
And see that solves the problem
Otherwise
2. Extract the boot.img from the rom you've flashed.. (it will be in kernel folder inside the zip file) Then flash the boot.img via fastboot.. Keep the boot.img in your adb folder and Type this
"fastboot flash boot boot.img"
3rd chance
3.flash 3.24 firmware from the thread ive linked.. And flash the rom again.
Final chance
Get the ICS RUU of Europe one (get this from pyramid shipped rom collections) thread GOOGLE it) and run the RUU.. With you phone connected to your device in fastboot
This will restore you to stock ics... After this you'll have to flash recovery and all again

My freinds sensation is really screwed up please help!

I s-offed my friend's sensation with revolutionary and now the bootloader says revolutionary on the top and it says s-off but no fastboot commands work (it says failed remote not allowed) and somehow i got 4EXT on there and i did a full wipe and installed jellybam and when i didn't have smartflash enabled it bootlooped and after i enabled it i got it to boot but on the start screen right when i selected a language and hit start the phone rebooted.. and i tried unlocking the BL but it doesn't even let me get tokenid... And i was thinking of ruu but i don't think it will work cuz it doesn't seem like my phone is really s-off...

Ok so you have s-off by revolutionary and you have used your token that you got from HTC website right... You were able to flash 4ext recovery and r able to boot into recovery and flash rims right??? Ok now u flashed a Rom and it reboots whenever you try to set it up... Why don't you download a different Rom like cm10 or other Rom with sense in it and if that doesn't work, lock your bootloader and flash the original stock update zip from T-Mobile
"HTC Amaze - Nightmare Sense 1.6"
"HTC Sensation - MIUI"
"LG G2x - Stock and overclocked"
"LG Thrill - Slim Stock Rom"
No i did not unlock and i did not use htc token, i only tried to cuz i thought that might make the fastboot commands work but i cant even get the tokenid i need to submit to tue htc site in order to unlock. And i could flash roms but they all bootloop cuz i cant even do fastboot flash boot boot.img cuz it says 'failed remote not allowed'... So i cant do anything besides get into recovery which doesn't even help much.... And when i do fastboot oem lock i get the same failed remote not allowed like every other fastboot command i tried...

Second press and hold volume down and power button (pic 2)...
Lastly you will see an almost similar screen on your phone but yours will have s-on but if u have it just click on fastboot with power button and plug it into the computer (pic 3)...
Also if u can get the token from HTC and and want to unlock the bootloader I think you will have to flash the stock recovery image but you can.google that and download the stock image and flash it with the "all in one tool"

actually you are saying that you did S-OFF with revolutionary.io method
which means that you have hboot version 1.17-1.18(htcdev method doesn't work for these hboot versions)
that means that you have gingerbread firmware installed
so any ics or jb rom won't boot
you need to upgrade your firmware first
see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
install 3.32 and then 3.33
read the instructions carefully and
before installing check md5 sums(it is very important)
edit: post your bootloader details to confirm
I was on 1.18 now it says 1.17 and revolutionary, i did install the 3.32 tmous (not 3.33 cuz when i tried supercid i got 'failed remote not allowed) and then i was still on stock gb and it made my phone bootloop so i tried installing vipers wich didnt even boot amd then i tried jellybam but when it got to the setup it crashed....

as i see you are still in gingerbread firmware(as see from radio)
and revolutionary hboot
i assume the upgrade firmware failed
try again
after that you have to flash an ics or jb rom in order to boot
you said you have 4ext recovery
if yes then it's fine
use 3.32/3.33 firmware from this thread
I edited the pic of my hboot, i accidentally uploaded the wrong one, and with 3.32 it still bootloops on vipers and crashes on jellybam.... Can i upgrade to 3.33 firmware (which is European i think), and the sensation is tmous and it isn't supercid (since every fastboot command gives me 'FAILED (remote: not allowed)')
?

Only your hboot is upgraded but your firmware it is the same(depending from radio)
And also it is said revolutionary
It should say juopunutbear
Are you sure you followed the steps correctly?
About 3.33 it is ok
That's why it is called universal

[Q] Htc one s maximus rom boot loops couple of times then boots into android

I had s-off on my htc one s. When i s-offed my hboot automatically got upgraded to 2.16. I ran a command the changes the secrity flag to s-on but all the software on my htc is for s-off/ Is there a fix besides jtaging
I gues you're stock with hboot 2.16 for now. Just use any Rom that runs on that hboot like magio, maximus or source.

What do you mean by "original firmware"? You meant you've flashed firmware.zip from maximushd to upgrade for 2.16 and then run the s-on command? If so and you have 2.16, radio 1.20?
Just make sure you haveflashed modded recovery that works with 2.16 firmware, then adb push maximushd rom zip to your sd card, flash from recovery, make sure you fastboot flash boot.img and you're good to go.

You got it little bit confused. You need s-OFF for upgrade to 2.16 or for downgrade the firmware back to 2.15. If you got upgraded your phone to 2.16 and then put your phone to s-on then that's it. There may be a way to gain s-OFF again but you just have to try or the guys that brought us facepalm and moonshine need to add support for new 401.xx firmware. You can ask them nicely on IRC (link to their IRC channel is in the OP of their thread) and see what they say/can do.
But for now you're stocked with hboot 2.16 so you can only run roms that use the same partions layout. (maximus, source, magio and I could see some CM 11 builds already as well).

Okay Thank you for the information! Im going to flash the maximus rom tomorow.
EDIT: What is the fastest most stable rom from the list you gave above? Because i want a stock rom that everything works. Any Advice? Thanks in advance
Another EDIT: Will i have to follow the same instuctions that are on the rom forum page, or do i just install the rom and flash the boot?
Dude why are u over complicating everything it's not hard. If you don't understand what your doing you should have never rooted your device a bit stupid to upgrade to 2.16 and then go s-on

Instructions are there for a reason follow them idiot all of them end off... If you only needed to use a few steps the developer wouldn't add extra ones

I have successfully installed maximus rom 10.00. The problem is when i power off the phone it boot loops about 2-7 minutes give or take a minute , then it goes android into after boot looping for about 2-7 minutes . So i cant shut off the phone and also how would i fix this whole boot looping problem?. Any ideas?
