hello, i just tried flashing this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1245892
followed all his instructions, but now the device is stuck on asus boot screen.
and i forgot backup ! (Zzzz)
i can boot in to recovery mode, computer recoginse device but there is error saying
driver isnt install. but i tried driver from asus website to manual install but still error!
- tablet cant mount to computer
- i think i just make it worse... somehow it just boot into recovery mode only ! (recovery loop)
- and now cant shut down , when i shut down it will just boot back to recovery mode
have you tried the cold booting from linux option?
volume down + power
wait til message appears at the top of the screen then release both buttons
wait for a few seconds
you will now have 2 options
select cold boot
if that doesnt work try using brks tool and try getting the external recovery onto your tf with the backup and root option. The tf needs to be in apx mode, although your pc will still not recognise it, it should still flash the recovery for you. After that you need to get a rom downloaded onto an extrnal micro sd and flash it.
Unfortunately you will need to use the cold boot method from now on as normal reboot will not work.
It will let you atleast get a working TF again.....to an extent.
DO NOT be tempted to flash the "touch recovery" from brks tool as this is for internal card only.
Can i just suggest to anyone reading this: always have a known to be working rom.zip stored on your internal and micro sd just as a precaution or atleast download and store a couple of roms on the internal - at least one of them "should" work and wont all be bad downloads.

yes i have tried cold boot, but it just stay on the same screen, so i think the rom may be malfunction in copy process
i will try the other method you suggest thankyou
yay got it back to stock ! thankyou for your help
what did you do to resolve your problems?
i used the brks tool to go into apx mode and then use stock rom from asus website and used their tool to flash stock. Now i successfully rooted and applied rom ! all working now

Hello,
I need some help to get the new ICS update. I have a TF101 (no G), serial B80, with firmware HTK75.WW_epad-8.6.6.23.
Previously I was on 8.6.6.19 and used razorclaw to root it. Then I have done the wipe data, and installed 8.6.6.23.
When I boot with Power and Vol- then Vol+ to enter RCK mode I get the green android guy with exclamation mark.
When I boot with Power and Vol-, then Vol+ I get 2 options: Wipe data and android cold boot.
I used some apps to test if the device is root and they say no.
Sorry for my english, but it's not my main language.
Any idea to fix this?
The 8.6.6.23 is firmware for the 3G model. You will not see OTA since ICS is not released for G model yet.
You can try to manually install 8.5.6.21. You could also try rooting and installing cwm recovery and flash the ICS ROM
Thanks for the answer. I've searched around and it seems that I can't get back to 8.5.6.21.
When I try to install it I get the android guy with exclamation point.
I guess I have to wait for ICS on 3G model

Easiest way is to root, install CWM recovery and flash an ICS ROM. Either the stock rooted ROM or one of the many custom ROMs
I was in a similar situation. The ASUS recovery did not work for me either and I couldn't figure out how to install CWM. There is not a lot of help for noobs with B80s and with all the methods out there it was a challenge to find the correct one. Here's what I did:
1. If you are not rooted, follow the instructions in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427838 to get rooted. I had updated to the .21 firmware, and at that point, the nachoroot method is the only option. I had some trouble connecting ADB, but eventually I got it to work. This was the most difficult part of the process.
2. Install CWM. I was having trouble with this using the ASUS recovery, and I think it has to do with B80 models. I found the app in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346180 and it is amazing. If you are rooted, it installs CWM even on the B80 versions. The custom recovery will allow you to install any rom.
3. Download the option B ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514658. Place the zip on your SD card. This rom is the ASUS stock ICS firmware with root. Contrary to what some have said--I noticed a huge difference with ICS!
3. Backup all your user apps and data with Titanium Backup (optional). Do not back up system data, just user apps if you want to keep them.
4. Open your recovery. Shut the tablet off, and boot into recovery by holding down the power button and the volume down button until you are prompted to boot into recovery by pressing volume up. Pressing volume up should load CWM.
5. Wipe and then install! To wipe, select "wipe" on the recovery menu. Then wipe all data, cache, and dalvik-cache. To install, select install zip from SD card and find the zip file you downloaded in step 3.
Best of luck!
Hi,
may i hook in here, i've got a similar problem:
i TRY to get in adb mode, but it doesn't work as expected:
i used this thread initially (ASUS Transformer Root ToolKit V7.1 Universal (Windows) | 2011-09-22), i downloaded the toolkit, connected my turned off tab to the pc, booted via Power + vol up, it got connected to windows and i installed the drivers. so far so good. BUT: if i start adb server and use adb device, i dont get any devices listed... i cant do anything. And when i use this nvflash method with the download.bat file, i get an error and the usb connection vanishes... i dont have any further ideas what to do. but i can boot afterwards normaly to 3.2.1, though i dont get any updates
any hints? Thanks for reading anyways
thanks, DK

What you did was put your tablet into APX mode. That's only good if you're doing NVFLash not ADB.
To use ADB just have yourtablet on like normal with USB debugging turn on
Hi,
thanks for your fast reply, you are right. i got my adb device id when beeing in the os, so this works. but, trying to use nvflash/Brk's Asus TF RootKit over apx, i got the initial connection, but when i want to flash it looses the connection or dies or something... no idea what
you got any hints how i can come back to a clean version, which is upgradable?
thx & best regards,

Hello. Today i managed to install small update from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563249
I sucessfully flashed it through cwm, and I also booted. But then i accidentaly pressed OTA asus update and im now stuck in Cwm Recovery v3.1.0.1 (solarnz-R-230511-1902). I cant access my nandroid backup since this recovery doesnt support internal storage and i when i press reboot system i get recovery loops (tablet restarts but android wont boot, im again in cwm). So i managed to flash some other versions of cwm, i flashed them, but again, after reboot im still in this recovery ... then i tried this guide http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...overy-bootloop-fix-tested-my-c10-windows.html but i havent set an adb to my device before so when im in command prompt it doesnt recognize my tablet so its pretty awkward (maybe because i havent usb debugging on - is there any way to turn it on??). So im an epic noob, can someone give me advice how to unbrick my lovely tablet? I´ll be very very greatful please help...
If you have an sbk v1 version you could use nvflash to unbrick. Check your serial #
Hmm, I already solved it Just did cold boot and wrote some things with terminal emulator...
Hi,
Am exactly in the same situation, have to cold boot to use the tablet.
Could tou please detail what you did to solv the problem once under android ?
Thanks in advance.
Check this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23339963 . You'll need to connect to a PC and us adb to connect (Google it if you are not sure what it is or how to use it).
Then reboot since you'll be right back in CWM, run the advanced script. I would replace that version as soon as possible with the working version of CWM.

ok guys what i have is a B70 Transformer that im trying to fix for someone.......
Ive managed to get touch recovery onto the pad via brks tool.......but its internal only.
It boots into recovery fine. (asus recovery had me stuck with android with triangle)
How the heck do i push a fully working stock rom zip onto the internal card?
Ive never had to do this before so need a little step by step guide.
I cant get the pad to show in device manager but surely if i can flash the alterate recovery i can get something onto the internal sd........maybe
ive tried the other tools but i cant get the pad to show (thing of dooms tool)
the whole adb thing has me pickled.
Just to make it clear the TF gets stuck on the eee pad logo so cant boot in to change any settings........tried cold boot from linux and data wipe but it just reboots back to the same position.
Some options:
-If you can get ADB working, you could push the needed file to internal sd.
-Use NVFlash to flash a working ROM
-You could also try and get Team Rouge recovery on as it read from both internal and external sd card.
Try this by Thing O Doom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1681155
Commands:
adb push \path\too\blob /sdcard/
Then flash in cwm. You can use adb tools from PERI. You need working drivers and to be in recovery for adb to show.
Otherwise Use NvFlash (Same as brks tool used) to flash Rouge, int and ext. They have an nvflash version on their thread. PERI will have this functionality soon.
well i dunno what i done but i think i may have cracked it.........
i was using brks tool again and cant remember what i clicked on but it managed to flash me another recovery for external sd
fortunately i had ww i.c.s on my external sd card as i always keep a back up for myself on int and ext as a rule of my own and finally after about 3 hours of pulling hair...............JACKPOT! its just booted into the welcome screen
Cheers guys for your responses.....if in doubt, trial and error - but never give up!!
Think il put rogue on it just incase and pray that they dont mess it up (its a customers and still in gtee / or was lol + they dont know its me thats fixing it )
damn......just stopped the fota running and now i cant get passed recovery. it just boots back into recovery even after reflashing the full ww. shouldve just left it!! grrr
ok so its cold booting ok from linux ok......what u think i should do? fota?
How actually you stop fota?

Just picked up a TF101 and it had the Cryo (whatever it is called) OS with ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.3.4. The OS didn't pick up wifi on the apps but it is on and logged into the router so I did a reset. Once I reset the TF101, i am stuck at CWM. It won't boot into any OS or anything else. I tried almost everything I found googling (this site and others) but nothing works. I did, however, got the TF drivers for my laptop so I can connect to it but I can't get the USB debug option on (of course).
So what are my options? how do I "unbrick" this thing? is this what some people call it soft-brick as it does boot but there just isn't any OS in there? I tried to put the OS zip file from Asus on a MicroSD but when I went to install zip from sdcard, it i can't get to the microSD to install it. it doesn't find it at all.
what can I do? what are the steps in unbricking this thing? I got this for my dad for father's day (chinese father's day which is TODAY...) and would like to get it to him.
Thanks in advance!
Is it in a CWM boot loop? Meaning when you reboot the tablet it keep going back to CWM?
Try this to see if you can boot OS.
Turn off tablet
Push and hold Vol down plus Power button
Wait till you see a screen that give you two options
Wipe data or Cold boot Linux
Choose Cold boot to boot into OS.

still stuck in CWM. I held it down and no options came up except to push vol +. tried both and regardless of what i do, it just goes right back into the CWM menu. it seems there's no OS to this tablet anymore?
Is there something I can do via USB cable to flash a ROM in there?

If you have ADB working, you can push a ROM file to internal memory and flash it.
Alternatively you can NVFlash a compatible ROM.

Sorry to sound ignorant but what's ad and what command (extra code after the .exe) do I add afterwards?
I'd try to flash a ROM via NVFLASH.
You may download it from here, but you must know if your TF101 is WW version, US version or any other. You must also know if your device is SBK1 or SBK2. That depends on the serial number. For example, mine starts by B50 and it's SBK1. If yours is SBK2 then you'll have to take a look at wheelie. If not, take a look here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620758
However, I'm not responsible for any damage your device might suffer.
Take a look at that and tell me
here's the endall- easyflash version 0.8.3b whitekidneys just updated it and saved my brick. it'll save yours too. just install it on your computer, along with naked drivers 0.7, put the tf in apx, and flash. literally that easy.
Follow the link to easy flash / nvflash and follow the steps...

anyone? i have problems getting it into apx mode, been trying for half an hour and still cant get it in to apx. would the bootloaders be a reason why i cant restore via nvflash?
Could it have gone flat during a flash? and it wont go into apx mode after the failed flash? Someone can correct me if im wrong but im sure partitions doesn't effect nvflash. what screens are you stuck at currently?

There is option right... as far as i remember, when yo flash stock using nvflash it removes root access... so you need to root and flash cwm again using nvflash right... so best option is removing root n going back to stock using easy flash.... boot it normally... let it settle and then root it again and install rogue recovery
That what I did when I had issues with my tablet...

ok got it. easyflasher 0.8.3b fixed it. whitekidneys has it working great now. the problem was getting easyflasher to finish the recovery kernel. something stopped or failed to transfer to the tablet while flashing the recovery. that means no recovery. that means i get stuck in apx mode. he updated it to 0.8.3b and it worked right away.

You flashed a recovery and reflashed the os? When you say new version you mean 0.8.3b right? Cause 0.8.3 doesnt work. You have the newest system update zip from the asus site in the asusupdate folder? When you say bootloop do you mean you can only get to your recovery or do you mean a real bootloop- it just keeps rebooting on the eee pad or asus screen?

I used the option Flash stock/unbrick at first but this didn't help so i tried flashing a recovery and then reflash the os from my external sd card but this result in an error code 7.
Yes I used 0.8.3b ( at least the zip I downloaded says so, program itself says 0.8.3)
With bootloop I mean that I can access recovery/apx but if the system trys to boot it gets stuck at the "Asus Inpiring inovation..." screen.
And yes I copied the latest zip from the asus site to the update folder.
I also tired putting the DE_epaduser9_2_1_21UpdateLauncher.zip from the asus site because I'm from germany and thought it may help...
But none of that worked for me
Thank you for your reply btw.

Crap. Try all of the updates. If you can get to your recovery its definitely a problem with the os. Try othe other updates or get ahold of whitekidneys. He helped me. Or maybe youre having another issue he needs to address.
