I've noticed that after rebooting the phone, the sliding is choppy.I mean,if a slide slowly ,the page dosen't move, and after a while,it jumps where it should be(where my finger is on the screen) . Now the odd thing-If a enter camera, take a random picture,go in preview mode, and zoom in and out a couple of times, the exit, everything works as it should.
Any idea why this happens?
Sorry if I confusing, but it's really hard to explain
Tnx

Could be a few things...
- Things are still opening in the background (scanning SD cards, etc.)
- Starting to cache the pages
- Things eating up CPU in the background

if your on stock rom then we have conservative governor and cfq io scheduler , this not good for performance
also with cfq media scanning at start causes lag for about a min
u should try a custom kernel with good governors and io scheldulers
Tnx for your reply guys.
Well. the SD card scanning was finished, and I always clear my cache and keep my phone with minimum programs running in the background. And this continues to happen(the choppy sliding) until I do the camera thing.:|
And yes,I use a custom kernel. But this happens even though I use Stock or custom kernel with the governor set to performance and i/o to sio.
I've been having this issue since i bought the phone, but never discovered how to fix it. until a few day ago.
may i know what rom you use and what kernel? And are you refering to page in browser? or page in app drawer or home? the next page.

Firstly , this issue has appeared in every 2.3.5 and above roms(stock or custom) . My previous rom(stock JKPK5) was not having this issue(or at least not that severe). But roms such ar XXKPQ , XXKPU etc (2.3.6) had this issue.
My current rom is [ROM]CleanValuePack[2.3.6][XXLE4] with [email protected]_PC#13 kernel.
I must say that I have not tried the camera thing except on JPKP5 . And my current rom.
A permanent solution to this issue is upgrading to CM9 (not kidding), browsing is waaaay faster than stock roms.
HOWEVER CM9 comes with other bugs:
No H/W acceleration (HD videos can't be played unless you use 3rd party apps)
No Video Recording
No WiFI tethering unless you use 3rd party apps.
Now the most annoying is video recording, but if you don't really need it for now upgrade (Bugs are getting fixed really fast, thanks to dhiru)

I have used CM9 for a week or so (Alpha 6). It was ok, smooth but the heating and the battery made me go back to stock roms.
I forgot to mention in my previous post that this lag is in the homescreen, not in browser.

live wallpapers works, in launcher or launcher2, you choose it with home switcher...
this FC, is strange it is there but just at the begining... and not always.
any way gonna check it later.
If this includes the Sense UI Launcher.. does That launcher have live wallpapers?

I used the home switcher and still livewallpapers is buggy (for example the grass wallpaper close when the phone is locked)
The force close has appeared in first and second boot about 2 times but its not appearing now
The 3d gallery is awesome and works perfectly (no crashes till now )
wifi works fine
still testing
This rom is very fast

in sense launcher you can only preview them but they won't apply (at least for me).

SenseUI launcher doesn't work with live wallpapers. As robocik said, you MUST use Launcher2(Nexus launcher) or the normal launcher.
Anyway....I also got a FC with this OMADM, but it continued to FC every time I restarted the phone(4 times total from first boot) so I just removed it and it's ok for now. Does anyone even know what is this app and what is it for? I never saw it in any other ROM so far...maybe it's some sprint app? Also what is this Device Self Service app...when I start it, it just closes on me(guess another sprint leftover? ). Also bugs from 5 v04 experimental are still there regarding camera. Still same bug with shutter sound and no possibility to zoom. Still, this rom is BLAZING fast One question tho...is there a possibility to replace this phone.apk with the one in 5 v04 because I liked the darkened theme :$
Hi Robocik,
Great Rom buddy. Fast and no problems with camera til now. The only problem I have is brightness full after close camera. I think is because this rom is based on Droid Eris (who has a light sensor). I turned off the automatic brightness change and now it's ok. Keep doing the good work.
what about htc sync, it works?

The OS seems to be lagging. It could be the hardware or maybe its the infancy stages of Honeycomb, but not a single thing on the TF is smooth.
-Switching home screens lags
-Playing Angry Birds lags
-Window animations lag
[Q] Is anyone else getting these problems?
It kind of hinders the experience, and for industry leading specs, the performance is quite poor.
The only lag I've noticed so far is with the keyboard input on web pages.

I experienced this a few days after I got my tablet. It ended up being an app/widget I had installed off of the market called weather3d. As soon as I tracked the problem down and uninstalled the app, it was smooth again. Kind of scary how much a wonky/non honeycomb tested app can destroy the performance of your device.

Unfortunately, it was lagging out of the box. I was showing it off to my sister and she's like "what are you trying to show me, the sketchy transitions?"
Maybe its all the widgets? I have all the stock ones including calendar, youtube, android market, and browser widgets
Mine is laggy too especially during home screen transitions using the HC launcher. It is noticeable especially if you are coming from an iPad. I have read that 3.1 fixes these problems and transitions are silky smooth with no lag. I'm currently using Launcher Pro with 1 home screen since I don't use widgets and I like to keep all my apps on one screen. This seems to save on RAM and makes app switching smoother.

I was getting lag with the default launcher, right now using VTL Launcher and its much better. I am getting lag with the browser (default) but with the debug tweak pages are loading much faster then before but theres times when it does lag. Was getting lag with the asus keyboard and just the android one and its much better.
Like any techsupport would ask:
what have u loaded on-the-job tablet? And don't say nothing because everyone loads at least one thing on a new tablet.
Have u tried to remove all installed apps (and Flash-bet u installed that)?
Have u rooted it yet?
Have u tried to root it yet?
Have u attempted/completed any firmware upgrades?
Are u using a dock?
Have u tried it without the dock?
Have u tried a hard reboot (hold power button for 12-15 secs?
i get panel transition lags when i set some live wallpapers
stock, no root, with latest firmware
If u want no lag and and want to use as many widgets with out system lagging do this
1 download ADW ex in market
2 go to adw setting and go to general behavior, animations and effects, transition effect and select *Curve ( I've tryed all pf them and some reason curve has the best fluid swiping)
4 make sure wallpaper scrolling is disabled
5 set desktop bounce to 15
6 set scrolling to 230
This is my way of a lag free life.
Also turn off alm the gestures there not needed
Ill do a video of before and after soon
You are correct...that really made my home screens fly!

-First thing out of the box: lag from scrolling. Then got flash, still lagging
-then got Angry Birds
-then got other android apps
-Not rooted, haven't tried
-just got notice of available firmware update today, will do after battery charges past 50
-No dock
-hard reboot did help a touch
I think I will try to restore it factory settings first, then runnig the firware upgrade, then getting flash. Will post results
Good News! I restored the tablet to factory settings and actually restored it from backup after that. Here is what I have noticed:
-The tablet is working much faster now, with no appreciable lag. Still some tiny amounts here and there but totally forgivable
-The preloaded music (4 songs) was gone. I think this means that before the ship the tablet they preload it with random software. So now its all gone, and whatever was causing the slow down before is gone now as well.
-I restored from back up so I have all my apps back as well as flash and it works perfect
-Also, the Asus keyboard no longer lags! Which is great because I like it better than the Android one. So if anyone wants to use the Asus keyboard without lag, just reset your tablet to factory settings.
Thanks for all the help everyone, I will still try Cowballz69 idea to speed it up even more

Thanks. ROM is already great.
Very smooth. Only little flicker on touch compared to 4.01. Anything tweekd here?
Did little testing. CIFS works! (great). FlashPlayer and Youtube don't seem to be working. Other GAPPS are fine.
Is it too much of a pain to get bluetooth and 3G dongle to work? Can i help?

For flash player..I made a little mistake

Touch is real problem for this tablet, trembles especially when charging.
Maybe ADWLauncherEX work better but is paid software....
However, would be needed the kernel sources for solve many problems
bluetooth, 3g, ext4, gamepad will work in next releases
Yes, touch is terrible. It makes clicking on anything virtually impossible. Is there nothing that can be done without kernel source? It's much worse than any of the Gingerbread ROMs.

Yes is quite bad.
At first it seemed like a small issue, but the continued use makes it rather terrible.
I think that installing ADWLauncherEX makes it better in homescreen and app drawer but does not solve the touch problem inside the apps.
Another issue is that the UI isn't smooth, redraw look like about 10fps?
Also, how does one sign into a Google account? Is that option available when gapps are installed? I didn't get that far as the touch issue is a show-stopper for me and have gone back to the Cheeyee ROM, patch 8, which seems to be the smoothest of all the ROMs (so far).

That option is available after you install the gapps.
I also think that cheyee's patch8 ROM is the most smooth and has the most options (flash, bluetooth, 3g, wiimote, etc.)
Even thought, I am currently using the latest ICS. I personaly think that i can get more from the tablet with this rom. Perhaps its just the ics launcher...
I'm sure it won't be long before everyone is using ICS, once these issues are sorted. I'm looking forward to using the USB host with Torque (OBD2 reader).

Thanks for your great work psquare. For me the rom is actually very stable, I have not had any crashes yet. The only downside is the terrible jitter on the touch screen. This is also present on the 2.3.4 rom, but it seems worse on ICS. For me it is not even possible to change the position of a widget and in the task manager I keep accidentally closing apps instead of opening them (it slides instead of clicking because of the jittering). If this can be fixed the rom is perfect for everyday use Keep up the good work
Hello Together,
it's quite confusing and also disturbing to read about Bugreports in the different Rom threads because sometimes it is not clear, if it is a rom specific Bug or a "CM base Bug".
So I will now start this Thread to collect the Bugs that are CM-Port related and not ROM related in the big hope it will help the devs to find the source of a bug.
Please only Report a Bug here, that happens on more than one different ROM, so we can see it as CM9 related.
Also please only Report Bugs with "clean" installations, so no "I have Ivendor RC4 with CastegnaIT 6.6 Kernel" because there is no way to find out, if this Bug comes from Ivendor CM9 or the customized Kernel.
Also don't repeat Bugreports "Please no +1 Posts" to keep it clear.
I Will Update Firstpost with Bugs and Solutions frequently.
For now, I observed the following Bugs in every CM9 based ROM (ivendor and acro68 Versions and customized version of that):
Bug: "Blank Screen Screen" Bug
Description: The Screen stays clear when opening an Application, no content is visible, also the scroller shows the correct size of area, so it seems as if the content is rendered but not visible
Affected Application : Every Browser (Stock and custom like Boat Browser) and eMail (Stock), different Reader like Google Reader and Facebook. Seems as if every App with a Scrollview is affected (maybe a bug in Scrollview code itself ?)
Workaround : Kill app with taskmanager (also remove from cache) and then restart
Also it seem, that current Version of Maildroid(Pro) is not affected from this Bug, so it's a workaround. Also Mail Sync for Exchange seems to be quite more battery friendly.
Update:
User "kaarl" maybe found reason for the bug: click me and further click
Bug: Wake freeze/slowdown
Description: After phone wakes up (by using powerbutton or by events like alarm or phonecall) it sometimes seems, as if it CPU isn't able to go over Min frequency. The phone don't really responds to touchscreen or buttons, screen mostly stay's dimmed
Workaround : Waiting up to 2min or pull battery out , wait 5 sec. put battery back in restart
Bug: Battery voltage reading seems to be corrupted.
Description : There are readings from 3mV up to 3V, depending on used App (AndroSensor shows 3V at 90% battery what seems a bit way off)
Bug: Faceunlock don't work
Regarding Battery drain with different signals (tested with acro's Beta Build 2 with IMAP all 15min and Whatsapp installed):
3G : 1,5-2,5% / h
WLan : 2,5-4% / h (AVM Fritzbox as WLan Router)
2G : <1%/h !
This values are nearly same numbers as BOKQ6 so there seems no longer an issue with battery !
I found, that exspecialy 3G drain is very much affected by signal strength. In my office I have quite good signal strength and have a drain @3G by around 1,5-2%/h. At home the 3G signal is very poor, it often swaps to 2G, there I have a drain like 7-10%/hour.
On the other side, I have the feeling, that with acro's current Build(Beta Build 2) I have a slightly better 3G signal then with BOKQ6 (GB-Rom) when signal is low. Maybe there is some output limitatation for radio antenna in GB Roms that our ICS Roms don't have ?
Battery voltage bug, every app report 4mV, but its actually 4.xx Volts.
Browser lags on stock cm9 rc4 and other cm9 ROMs even though I set the governor to 1800mhz. And sometimes it freezes my phone and I had to remove the battery and power on again. Even though cm is stable. Its still laggy, Arco and Ivendor are only focusing on WiFi and BT problems and adding new features but cm9 will always lag

Checked with AndroSensor and that shows me 3.0 Volt currently, so maybe more a bug of Apps ?

Couldn't find any big lags with Browser, testet it with Arco's current Beta Build 2.
Maybe you have installed to much Apps that fill memory ?
Also it depends on the Sites you visit (bandwidth, content etc.)
Besides of this, I think, acro and Ivendor focus their work on the Basic bugs (like deepsleep problems).
Even if there is a problem with the Browser it's work for CM-Team, not for Arco68/Ivendor....

Currently testing Arco68 Beta Build 2 and I couldn't confirm any such lag for the moment, so maybe it's only ivendor specific and therefore you should write there for it. Here I want only summarize Bugs, that are NOT Rom specific but something that we can see in both versions.
But I will keep an eye on it.
Extreme battery usage on all cm9 based roms when on gsm radio signal 2g or 3g. Battery drain is about 8% per hour, phone is in deep sleep with lot of little wakelocks..
On wifi its 1-2% per hour...

Can confirm it for 3G (added it to OP as Important issue), must test it for 2g as it is reported as far better than 3g.
Anyway thanks, that you have remembered me to observe this issue.
Nova 3 dosen't work...incompatible .

Hello Together,
i
Bug: "White Screen" Bug
Description: The Screen stays clear when opening an Application, no content is visible, also the scroller shows the correct size of area, so it seems as if the content is rendered but not visible
Affected Application : Every Browser (Stock and custom like Boat Browser) and eMail (Stock and Maildroid).
Workaround : Kill app with taskmanager (also remove from cache) and then restart

Something wrong not with the apps but the sensor. Your device cant work with a 3.0V battery. Androsensor report 4.0V battery voltage.
I think the numbers after 4.xx and 3.xx is not show or report. Something is not good thats sure.
Ad hoc wifi is buggy! It freezes on "obtaining ip address"

OK I've got it...At first moment I wrote about this bug because it that appears in all CM9 except for arco build...
I changed my daily ROM from cm9 to cm10. CM10 by doomsday is so smooth that it is faster than cm9 with init.d tweaks and castagnit kernel and geeky engine with JB Libs. I'm playing gangstar with 0 lag. But only videos make cm10 reboot.

No. I mean that cm10 runs better, smoother and faster than cm9 that has an over clock kernel.
White screen bug appears in:
- Facebook
- Gmail app (from Gapps or downloaded from Google Play)
- Stock Email application
Sound is "blurry and Cracky". With and without an equalizer (DSP/Beats) Caused by the bass in music (ringtones/notificationsounds/mp3/flav/wmw files)
BLN is not working properly (kernel related)
3G/Wifi drain when they are used (kernel related, perhaps the drivers?)
Wakeup lag when cpu is at 245mhz or less ( just change min freq to 368 mhz and there is no bug but it can use more battery)
I havent found any other..
Thanks for detailed Report, will Sort it out later.
This thread is not Form CM10 or customizations (CastegnaIIT Kernel counts to that) also please No +1Posts !
Will mod ask to clean thread up....

Updated first post (exspecially about white screen).
About your bugs:
Can you name me a example for Sound problem ? Because with acro's Beta 2 the Sound seems ok for me, I couldn't hear any heavy cracks or blurrs, and I tested all notifications that comes with CM9. Also the sound of phonecalls is quite ok.
BLN is not a normal function of CM9 Rom, it's a customization and only in ivendors Rom, acro's rom has no bln support. So please post any bugreports regarding BLN in ivendors thread.
3g/Wifi i tested with acro's last Build and it seems on par with BOKQ4 (used same baseband for testing), so this also seems no longer a big problem (think, ivendor will merge the changes from acro into his next build)
If you mean with Wakeup Lag the first Bug i've reported: did 368mhz really do the trick ? That would be a good information for workaround. Or did you mean something else ?
Hey bravo users, I was just browsing through LifeHacker and I found an article about Pimp my ROM. Taken from the XDA post, "Pimp my Rom is an aroma-installer based script that will allow you to choose between a plethora of nice tweaks, mods, apps, themes and features to add to your current rom." Here's the xda post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908269. I'd tell more you about it but I would do a poor job, so just visit the post.
It apparently works with the Defy roms, so it might work with bravo roms as well. I guess I could try it and let you all know if it works. If I do install it, I will edit this post with my results.
Edit: it installed fine, and the tweaks I added work great too! I should mention that I'm using skeevy420's cm7 kang. I recommend it.
some people were reporting that the text on the aroma installer was hard to read. did you encounter that at all?

Nope, the text was just fine. One caveat is that you had to use the volume buttons and power button for selecting everything, but that was no problem.
On another note, I ticked the tweak for faster wifi connecting, and it seems to be working. I also ticked the "faster app loads" tweak and I think it's working, but it's hard to tell since cm7 is already lightning fast. I think the "higher jpg image quality" tweak is working too.
I've been using my phone for about 7 hours today and I've noticed no problems so far. I'd like to know the results from running PmR on JB or ICS, just so we can be sure that it works 100% on Bravo. I might do that later on my PA and ICS nands. Happy tweaking!

weird, I didn't have to use physical buttons.
I'm on Quarx's 9/12 cm10. These are the tweaks I selected:
-better battery consumption
-better jpg image quality
-better camera recording quality
-battery savings
-faster scrolling
-better touch responsiveness
-reduce dialing time
-misc 3g tweaks
-deeper sleep
-smoother online video streaming
-faster wifi connect/disconnect
Everything is pretty responsive, may be just placebo, but hey it works on JB :good:
I tried using it with skeevy420's miui pikachu port and my phone wouldn't boot. It's possible that I selected settings that conflicted with the miui aroma installation settings. I don't recommend using PmR on Miui.

No I used PmR 2.0, which works fine on cm7.

I used hdpi for my cm7 and cm10. It also worked with PA.
For Miui, I think I forgot to 2nd boot miui properly before I used PmR and that may have had something to do with it. I will try it out tonight to see if rebooting immediately aftet installation will provide the solution.
*edit
I've been using miui for a few days now without installing PmR. I still have no clue what the issue was, but I'm very happy with skeevy420's miui pikachu port without PmR. I suggest you try it if you haven't.
Pimp my Rom is very nice my GPS and scrolling much better:thumbup:

I've been messing around with PmR for the past few days and its great, for the most part. Not everything is compatible, one of the options breaks wifi, and some of the default values it uses aren't the most optimized for the Bravo. Also found a bug with its dns tweak -- it forgot to put a # in the build.prop before its name.
I'm trying out the "high" settings for multitasking, and I think I need to go one step below on those options -- a bit of lag occurred that medium didn't have. Medium worked better with V6 as well. The GPU tweaks don't matter since our CM7 is already fully hw accelerated and the GPU frequencies can't be scaled (yet, kernel limitation). Also noticed some of the sqlite tweaks don't work as expected (tons of errors in the boot logs).
On a side note, I'd rather CM7 have the custom kernel instead of CM10.

No, I'm gonna try and figure it out today. I applied every PmR tweak that I didn't think would break the system; apparently one did :silly:.
UPDATE
The wifi issue is from the tweak Connect and Disconnect Faster; delete the line "ro.mot.eri.losalert.delay=1000" from the build.prop to fix it.
