Stuck in recovery loop - Samsung Infuse 4G

So in the process of upgrading from CM7 to CM9, I somehow soft bricked my Infuse 4G. Now all it will do is reboot into blue CWM (version 5.0.2.7) continuously. My computer won't read it in download mode even after installing Kies, and a few sets of drivers (not all at the same time). It says error 43, and won't connect so I can't use odin or heimdall. Where do I need to go from here?
Edit: Update- got it into red CWM, then it rebooted and now I can neither connect it to a computer, or get any CWM options. It will boot into download mode, but my PC won't recognize it still. Safe to say I'm past the point of repair?

use odin 1.8 and flash UCKD5, then flash cm9

don't worry, it's far from brick.

It's still saveable...although which program have you been trying with download mode...I suggest heindal as it doesn't require any drivers from kies or Samsung...it downloads and installs custom driver for the phone the first time you run it...
So if you've had no luck with Odin try heimdal...if you had no luck with heimdal try Odin...but on a dif USB port...once heimdal is used Odin can't be used on that USB port...
You also may wanna try a dif USB cable...it could be your cable is semi broken and no longer works wig data transfer...mine was like this and would only charge and woulv no longer transfer data...so I used ny dads which worked...

My problem is that I can't get my computer to see the phone. It just boots to the Samsung screen and hangs there, even if I try to reboot to recovery again. Download mode works, but my laptop tells me there's a problem with the device.

Heimdall doesn't see the phone either. I'll try to find a USB when I go in to work tomorrow, because based on what I've been trying that's a definite possiblity.

I was in your exact situation. Here is how I resolved it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696716. The heimdall one-click unbrick was able to write to the when nothing else could.
Hope this helps...

Yeah you have to go wayyyyy back to stock and then upgrade. Any of the one click restores will work. No way to save your old rom, but you can definitely get out of it...

Try a different usb i been through the same thing...a samsung usb to be specific

[Q] Can anyone help unbrick my phone...

I tried running Odin to unbrick back into recovery, but apparently didn't have the drivers installed (to my surprise). I hate to say it but I think I've reached the point of no return...any help would be very much appreciated.
Edit: I can't even get into dl mode and I don't have the samsung logo on the screen anymore...just a phone and computer logo.
May be you are not in dowload mode correctly.
For download mode:
1. remove battery
2. connect phone to computer
3. put battery
4. press volume up and down buttons only (no power button)
Try these steps, hope its helpful.
As far as the driver issue is concerned, downloading "Kies" is the easiest way. The phone doesn't actually work with the software, but the process of installing it will take care of any driver issues.
Search Kies in google to grab the download.
Try one click unbrick ^^ it work on mine

That's the thing...odin would be a breeze, but I just can't get the right drivers for odin to id it...so I guess my solution would be to get kies to id my phone so I could dl the drivers and run odin, right? Easier said than done I suppose...
Thanks for the feedback guys, I really do appreciate it...
Don't plug in your phone at all. Open up Kies/Kies Mini or whatever you have, and under the options it should have an option to install drivers. Once they are done, close kies, reboot your computer, open up Odin with whatever you are flashing, and then plug your phone into download mode.

No, the program itself can install them without the phone, at least kies mini will. Or you can just download the driver from here:
32 bit drivers: http://www.mediafire.com/?0b45zo7o75rc5d5
64 bit drivers: http://www.mediafire.com/?3dh4d6up72me9re
It said I successfully dl'ed the drivers, yet nothing has changed...used kies mini, restarted my comp, and tried to sync, but it still can't recognize the phone...hate to admit it, but I think I've exhausted just about every solution I could find or think of :/
get rid of kies. it's a useless program. also if it's open odin might not work, even if it's open in the background like in the system tray.
the drivers are in the most logical place you could think of. on the samsung website under device support.
http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.c...445/SGH-i997_Infuse4G_USB_Drivers_5_2_0_2.zip
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/at-t/SGH-I997ZKAATT
use the samsung cable if possible, others should work but on the older moment/intercept style phones a specific cable seems to be required. it couldn't hurt to make sure you have the correct cable.
even if you have the phone + computer screen it doesnt automatically mean you are in download mode. you may still need to do the download mode proceedure from battery pull (to make 100% sure the phone is off before you start the proceedure)
the best way is to
1 open odin
2 pull battery
3 connect the cable
4 phone should be face down
5 hold the volume buttons at the same time
6 with volume buttons depressed slide the battery into place
now you may see dwnload or you may see phone + computer or you may even see a black screen but there is a good chance that if the drivers worked that you will see a yellow box in odin
good luck

Get UnBrickable mod. That works well. I use it whenever I put my device into download mode. Just send me a pm and ill do it for $30+shipping. UBM lets you upload download mode to a device regardless of its state. I spent alot of time researching the methods and I came up with the mod for this device not too long ago.
UBM is the best option. Here is a demo on a captivate. We rewrote the HIBL for compatibility with the infuse4g
Thanks for all the help guys, but absolutely nothing I tried was working and I was short on time and patience...so you gave in to the JTAG unbrick service. Great communication and Josh does quick work of getting things working again...I'm a firm supporter of DIY, but if you do reach the point of no return like I did, it's a very reliable resource.

[Q] Phone not showing up on pc while in download mode

I have the samsung galaxy s 4g. First off it can get into download mode, with the yellow triangle. Second, It's recognized in normal mode i.e., mass storage, samsung kies, media. Odin also recognizes it in normal mode as 0:COM. Though when starting in download mode windows tries to install it but fails and says usb not recognized. Also Odin no longer shows it as 0:COM. Any suggestions?

The answer IS out there, I found it when I first started... But, here's the spoon:
1 Start Odin, plug in phone while it is off and battery out
2 hold the volume up/down buttons and insert battery
3 If Odin does not recognize phone then, reinstall the drivers
4 Repeat steps 1 and 2

Can you see enough of the screen to root your phone? I would recommend rooting it, downloading sgs kernel flasher, downloading a cwm kernel, flashing it, then reflashing through cwm stock gb and see if it fixes it. It might be a hardware issue though. Have yet to hear somebody say their screen stopped working after using kies.
Use the first link in my signature for detailed directions, links and downloads.
You don't need to **** with ODIN. I recommend my method. No ODIN

New Phone N Now DEAD, PLEASE HELP

I got the phone yesterday. It was unlocked and I was using it with t-mobile.
I was able to root it fine. Than I tried to ODIN SkyrocketCWMrecovery. It did not work, so I tried to start the phone. But it said "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies &try again"
So I download all the files needed and I put the phone in download mode. But I keep getting all kind of errors like "<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)" and each time I try I get a different error!
I have used ODIN many times but this is the first time I have had so many issues.
Could it be because it was unlocked that Im having these issues?
I have tried different usb ports, started the pc and phone, I mean I have tried everything I found on the web.
But I know one of you have the answer and hope you can help.
Thanks.

Are you able to get into stock recovery mode? If yes then try formatting the phone from there and then try download mode again, also, download the drivers again for the phone on your computer.
First though, try another computer.

Can you do adb still? If you can you might be able to copy over the recovery.img manually.
Hook up to computer and try adb devices from whatever screen you can get it to boot to that's not download mode. If it comes back with an attached device try running adb shell and then su. If the prompt changes from $ to # you're good. Lmk.
Edit: for future reference being unlocked has no influence on flashing anything. And why were you odin'ing CWM when you can just flash the T989 one from Rom Manager?

Ok, here's what happened an hour ago that should help you guys to help me out.
I took the phone to a guy that advertised in craigslist. 40 minutes later his got the phone running. BUT, get this, I turned it on and ALL my apps contacts super user(old version) I mean EVERYTHING that was there before i flashed was there.
Its as if he was able to figure out how to get out of the window that has a phone and yellow triangle with exclamation mark in the middle and to the right a monitor. You know the window that says " FIRMWARE UPGRADE ENCOUNTERED AN ISSUE...."
Because once it started everything was just as I had it. I didnt even login to my gmail account because everthing was there.
He charged me 40.00 to restart my phone pretty much. He was suppose to root and flash to newest super user so I can install roms and he didn't even do that. The old super user was still there.
SO, I get home and I want to flash AGAIN the latest super user so I use odin 1.8 and it fails. I said forget it and remove the battery and now im back to the SAME WINDOW AGAIN! I am not going back to pay him 40.00 to restart my phone.
What do you guys think he did? How did he get out that window? I know my phone has everything intact I just need to get out of the screen I mentioned above.
Btw, I'm not able to do anything with adb because it wont find any device since its in that wind...
My guess is you have driver errors..try another computer first and foremost.
What file are you flashing for root? You don't need to Odin anything to root or put clockwork mod on the phone.

Yes there is, can you point to the stock recovery? And is there a certain odin version I should use. The guy i mentioned had in his monitor that the top of the odin window said EPIC 4G. The one I'm using says ANDROID+SLP.

You should be using Odin 1.85, i just found it on google..search for Odin 1.85 and an xda attachment should be one of the first links. D/l that and extract it..only thing is get rid of the .pit file that comes bundled with it, you don't need it.
Ok, i put Odin 1.85 on this post, and here's the link to Stock Recovery d/l them and then verify that you are in download mode and that your phone is being recognized by odin.
place the .tar file in the pda section in odin and hit start. It should flash no problem..if it doesn't you have driver error or you don't have a Skyrocket.

Hi everyone, I am a new person in the forums, so please understand if I'm not good at some stuff and if I'm posting this in the wrong place
Well, story is that I found my old Galaxy Tab 2 in my basement after 3 years, and I got it to turn on (no factory cable, 1€ chinese cable). Android version is 4.0.3.
Found a couple of roms in the forums for 6.0, and yes, I've done it before on my phones.
Computer cannot recognize the tab, only says "Unrecognized device", even though I've tried every driver there is to it. Tried kies, no help. Tried odin, no help.
Neither of those detect the tab either, so I rooted it from the tab itself with KingRoot.
Now the tab is rooted, and I tried to flash TWRP to install 6.0.
It says that the recovery is flashed, but when I try to reboot to recovery, it only restarts, with nothing.
It goes into download mode just perfectly, but when connected to the pc, it still doesn't detect it.
I do not have money to buy a new tablet, so I would really like some advice.
Thanks!
hello
go in download mod ( power & vol+ )
go back to origin
use cfautoroot (all needed in it odin + drivers + cfautoroot)
use a new cable
after that install twrp, os ( first cm12.1 )
regards
Hi, will try!
Don't set auto reboot in Odin.
Once TWRP is flashed wait 1 minute and unplug the tab.
Now directly boot into TWRP, else stock recovery get restored on boot.
You should update over OTA to 4.1 or 4.2 if available first, else you'll have to flash a newer bootloader using Odin to avoid graphics glitches at boot.
