Stuck at forgot password screen - Samsung Mesmerize

My sister was messing around with my phone and she kept putting in the wrong password now it had too many attempts and requires the email the phone was synced with but none of us remember that. Us there anyway we can get around this without losing the data? I tried putting in null for both the email and password but nothing has worked. Any ideas?

There is a security loophole you can try... as it is booting up RIGHT BEFORE us cellular animation is done start pressing the home button as fast as you can... at least 3-4 times per second.... keep pressing it that fast for as long as you can... while you are doing that also press the emergency call button very fast.. this will get you through. The success rating is about 15% lol... This worked for me...

Text messages

I started having problems today with my text messages. I would get a text msg from friends an I would end up getting them over and over again. I did a battery plug and even asked them to do it also and still nothing. I still kept getting them over and over again. Any where from a minute apart to 5-10 minutes. This has been going on all day since around 10:30. I even did a master reset on the phone during the day and it is still doing it. I called tmobile and they actually disconnected me from the network to see if that would work and it didn't. They ended up having to send it to the engineers and said this would go on for the next couple of days until the engineers got back with them.
My question is has anyone had this problem before?
One other question I have also is. My phone is rooted but I haven't deleted any thing I just have them frozen. When this happened I wasn't doing anything out of the normal with it. Now if I have to get a new phone I know I will have to un-root it. Should I do a master reset on the phone once I get my new phone so that away any of the apps I have on this one will go to my new phone an when I send this phone back so they won't know that this phone was rooted.
Any help would be great.
Thank you in advance.
By any chance were thet txting you fron a iphone?
Suprah..."no cyanogen, rom manager still fake flashes the roms thats y for nvidia phones we have to use nvflash"
no not iphone
Could it be that your friends are bomb spamming you?
There are some apps that lets you spam people with text messages

I really don't think so because it even happened when tmobile was sending there test text msges and when I even sent me a test text msg
Me too. Sat on phone with T-Mobile. No fix yet. Not rooted. Texts repopulate from all incoming carriers. Now I am SMS disabled. Opened a tt and asked for fee anytime upgrade.
ok now I have a bigger issue.....today on my way home from work I restarted my phone and after I did that it was starting to load up it will get to the screen where it says LG with the blue like task bar under it and then it reboots itself. what would cause that. I'm lost and worried now and have no clue what to do. I search the phone rebooting issue and some of the things I'm see to do is this
"help: try formating the phone/wipe data .... hold volume DOWN button and power button at the same time"
but if it wipes everything what would have to be done after that.
This happened to my wife's MyTouch slide a while back. A SIM pull fixed it. Just pull your battery and SIM card out for about 30 seconds and put them back in. See if that fixes your texting issue.

(solved, with an unlikely solution) Got Locked out!!! Help me

I dont have a nandroid backup for months and got some really important (like career important data) which isnt synced anywhere.
so this is what happens:-
I go to play football while leaving my aokp p500(ICS) with a friend (Pattern Lock Enabled).
He, being the enterprising person he is, starts messing around,
Enters Wrong Pattern sufficient times and gets Locked Out of it.
The screen's asking for my gmail credentials. so i should just go ahead and enter it, right? Right?
No, fellow people. wrong!!
As it turns out, being the battery nazi that i am, i had innocently turned that little Data Toggle To Off.
So, the sign in is trying to connect to google, But unfortunately, its against google policy to enable offline password verification.

If you booted into recovery and made a nandroid backup, then wiped and restored, would it remember that you maxed your pattern attempts?

Yea, they can, but not so much when you have an important work to do in the morning(phone plays a major role, as the contacts are in it).
and secondarily, its a time consuming process which is precisely an asset i dont have.
what i was looking for was some kind of workaround, or something like that, like enabling data via adb(if there exists a thing like that)
If you reflash aokp without wiping anything all of your data will still be there but the passcode lock should be removed, you should probably make a nandroid first, just in case.
^^ trying, will let you know.
EDIT: to no avail, and it seems like the power button went defunct.
You're kinda locked out...
Why did you turn off Data Sync?
If the data is on your SD Card just take it out and connect it to your PC

Now I'm gonna tell you people something which I couldn't possibly believe happening.
A tale of sheer serendipity, between the master and a slave. Hold on to your seats
I have titanium backup pro scheduled to do a full system and data backup at 3am, every Thursday.
And today is Thursday.
I did a full system wipe, then flashed wc's rom. After installing ti backup, I thought of restoring system data, or whatever was left of it. Something's better than nothing, right?
But what happened astounded me, as everything was in exact way I had configured it last morning. Heck, I even had the message I received at 2:13 in the morning.
But with all these things came that nagging Gmail password box, ( as it turned out in my favor, android has data on by default).
Which I was able to get through by inputting the requirements and Google verifying those.
Wow, plain wow. Ecstatic right now!
Lesson learned. Do share it with everyone, and please buy titanium guys a beer.

I saw your comment on that link - Yes, it should work without any data enabled, because there is no need of any data while doing this
And why the hell xda shows in that forum that you posted Today, 12:17 AM and this message Today, 11:43 AM LOL. I am time traveler
I know your problem is solved but same things happened to me but my e-mail verification is work in offine mode ie no data is needed.

There is a small-ish bug in android, which enables data without showing the E or H sign (ultra rare, has happened just two times in the past 1 year) .
I'm just saying that storing the passwords, and other sensitive data offline just makes no sense at all.
Suppose if a tech person gets hold of someone's locked phone, and he manages to get adb enabled, it's only a matter of time before he will get hold of the passwords.
And then, another mat hanon will be born(@mat)

Stock HTC One S got bricked sudenly?

so yesterday my unlocked T-Mobile HTC One S got bricked, before you ask i never touched the ROM of the device, it was pure stock HTC One S with a lot of apps.
basically it entered into a strange loop: first the T-Mobile greeting message appeared and then the HTC One S logo, over and over and over again. the only thing that i could do was to power button + volume down and do a factory reset.
This happened one day after i updated its firmware OTA, and in the same day that i downloaded a free app called AutomateIt.
i'm only upset about the fact that i lost the pictures and vids that i took in the 6 weeks owning it, but i am worried that if it did this once, it could do it again so i need to know if this is something common to Androids, my One S or something else.
Very strange!!!
Root the phone and make a nandroid backup. Stock Rom's sucks!!!

Did you let the phone die? the phone don't like to do that. Get Dropbox or Google+ that will sync your pictures online.
The same happened with my stock htc one s 4.0.4 twice! I figured out that when you have more than 15-20 saved wlans, you have connected to in the past, in your wifi-list your phone ends up in a bootloop. I didn't manage to rescue any data even not with adb.. clearing the cache and so on. probably you used any automatic wifi functionality from automatelt.

now thats interesting, my phone is also 4.0.4, and yes i did have ~20 saved WLAN's, i can't figure how wlan would have any connection to a bootloop, but then again i dont know anything about programming.
so you always delete the wlans once you are done using them? after you found out did it brick again?

yes, I take care that I don't have more than 5-10 in my list. since that it didn't brick again. but a few days ago I had ~10 in my list and it suddenly restarted again while I was in the wifi list screen and I was like pleeeaassse no bootloop! but fortunately it was no bootloop but my whole wifi list was reset. it must be an error in htc's software.. so we can only wait for updates..
I've had this happen with other Android devices, it's generally some rogue app that screws up the device and only a factory reset will clear it. I've never had more than 3 or 4 wifi points saved so can't comment on that as a possible cause.
It's not 'bricked' by the way, just slightly fubar'd

You are not the only one. I also encountered the same thing because of too much wlan connections and the only thing i could do is run into bootloader and restore factory settings, since i don't have a nandroid backup because i'm not rooted.. fortunately i synced my pictures thru dropbox, and a backup of sms in gmail.. but i don't know why it is happening to us, so this issue isn't an individual case..

[Q] Stumped. Please Help!

Alright, to begin. About a month ago I lost my GPS. Meaning, my phone could not locate itself. Move up to the end of last week...I was unable to send text messages, call out or receive calls. I WAS able to receive text messages. Also, I could use my mobile data (i.e. Internet). Then, I lost ALL capabilities and the phone went to asking me if I wanted to switch to GLOBAL ROAMING. Still, at this point I could ODIN flash to stock. However, I could not ROOT the phone. Even with flashing back to stock (unrooting), the phone would not call, or text, etc...Okay, still with me? So, yesterday, I took the phone to the local Verizon Corporate store to have them look at it. A new SIM card did not fix the problem. In fact, when he booted the phone, the boot and splash screen both came up with a picture of a big LOCK (that was unlocked) and the word "CUSTOM". He looked at us and said, "That's not supposed to be there.". It never was until that time (mind you, I had unrooted). The phone wouldn't even boot to the VZW stock recovery. He was awesome to work with and we did so for over an hour. He was going to replace the phone with a new one under insurance (even though I don't have insurance on the phone). But the phone was not in the system. They couldn't find it. "Like it doesn't exist". So, today I am still messing with it and have been all over the internet looking for a solution. I've ODIN'd the stupid thing so many times in the last two days. NOW, I DON'T have the big un-locked LOCK or the "CUSTOM" anymore, but I can't get past the setup screen because the phone is ROAMING! It will ask which language, then, at the next screen, it tells me to wait while it connects to Verizon Wireless and activates itself. At this point, the phone will make a phone call, ON ITS OWN, and I listen to people telling me that I may be eligible for a $100 gift card as well as other advertisements. I used to be able to pull down the notification bar and setup my wifi. Now, I can't do that.
I've tried every stock ROM available all the way back to 4.0.4. At first, that's what I would do and then, just apply the OTAs until i reached 4.1.2. Now, I can't even get that far.
I'm sure I've forgotten some things, but please ask away if that will help clear anything up. I've never had any problems with this device. Could it be a virus? Or is it doomed for the recycler? I have no idea what to do. Thanks.
Also, I remembered, when I was able to see my phone's info it showed I was connected to the network and everything looked as it should and would, normally. I still couldn't send texts, call, etc...on Verizon's customer representative end, they would also say that it would look like the phone was trying to do something but never would.
When I would request my IMEI#, it checked out fine. However, when I would use the dialer for the IMEI check, I would get the IMEI# followed by a /01 or /02. Not sure what that means, but thought I'd throw that out there, as well. Thanks
Now, when I'm in the aforementioned set up screen, my phone direct-calls Alltel. "Thank you for calling Alltel". WTH.

Hi. Unfortunately, I couldn't give the specifics because I don't really know. Other than, the last flash I did was Odin back to stock (un-root) and do all the OTA updates (up to 4.1.2). So, whatever all the stock, non-rooted S3s are running. Sorry I couldn't give more info. Thanks.

Thanks. Yeah, I was on the phone from 11pm last night until 1am this morning with Verizon and they couldn't get it working. Put in another "network fix" ticket but haven't heard back. Looks hopeless. My contract is up and I am really looking forward to the S4, but money is tight and I was going to wait a bit before that purchase. I was using an old Samsung SCH-U900 Flipshot as my backup. I don't have to tell anyone, but that sucked. Now, I can't even use that because they need the line clear for the work order. So, I'm helpless. How the heck did I survive before cell phones?!

Hey, no problem and thanks. I was going crazy with the old Droid X. Anyway, because of the outcome, I thought it would be a good reason to post and maybe help others. ORIGINALLY, when we first called Verizon, that's the first thing I wanted them to try. Or at least let me try. I just couldn't get past the language set up screen and the phone making calls on its own. All they would do is a factory reset. Still not sure why the phone went berserk and changed up on me. Oh well, it's back now and I couldn't be happier.

[Q] Locked Out of HTC One X, Please Help!

I'm currently locked out of my phone with no way that I know of to get back into it. I'm not sure exactly what happened - I must have 'pocket unlocked' it and bumped it against my leg enough times to where it's stuck on the screen asking for my Google account info. (It says I entered my pattern incorrectly too many times.)
This wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the fact that I didn't have WiFi or mobile data enabled at the time. Because of that, it can't send my information.
The only solution I've heard so far is to do a factory reset, which I really don't want to do. I've got loads of pictures and other things on it that I can't sync to my computer at the moment, and there's no way I'm losing those.
Does anyone here have an alternative solution? If so, please tell. This is urgent.

Nope.. factory reset unless you have twrp... If you can access twrp then you simply need to plug it in and mount usb..
Short of that you are out of luck. Even HTC will tell you to factory reset in bootloader
