[Resolved] [Q] How to return to SPL 1.42 from HSPL - General Questions and Answers

Hi
Newcomer at all this.
HD2., Trying to install a custom ROM (W7)
Installed HPSL 2 OK but I cannot install the W7 ROM (it says flashing fails)
So no I want to get back to the original SPL 1.42 and Win6.5
I have tried to flash the WIn6.5 ROM but that flash also fails.
How can I get flash the standard ROM and/or get rid of HPSL
Thanks in anticipation

Update: It seems to fail in the installation of Radio_V2
is there anyway I can take the radio installtion out of the nbh file and just install the rest (as a means of getting rid of HPSl) or even just install SPL1.4 by itself?
TFAI

Easy when you know how
Use HSPL4 to get back to SPL2.08
then use HSPL2 to go from SPL2.08 to SPL1.42
Other combinatoins possible

revert back to stock to update to ICS

Hi , few months ago i rooted my phone ( did not install any custom rom) only the clockwork recovery mod (somethin like that) i think , so now i wanna go back to stock so i can install ICS, i download my RUU and a pg58IMG.zip file(what is that for) , so the problem is that my phone is connected in charging mod to my pc , and debugging is on , but adb devices cant read it , what should i do ?
Please any additional info would be appreciated , thank you alot
as far as i know, if you want to install stock htc ics, you just download the original RUU, run setup and plug in your phone, you don't need clockwork recovery or anything else like that, just follow the steps from the HTC RUU setup...
If you have received the FOTA updated just changed the recovery to stock HTC Recovery. And flash or run the OTA update. I use this guide to get back to stock HTC Recovery it may also help you [GUIDE] Get Stock Recovery/Install OTA Updates without losing data.

[Q] Do you need ROM Manager to flash ICS 4.0.3?

Hey this is my first time posting - I have a rooted Rogers Samsung Captivate i897 that I upgraded to Gingerbread 2.3.4 in November (with an AT&T based ROM). I am trying to upgrade the firmware to the new ICS 4.0.3 that is now available for this model as I am looking for something new.
So, I did some research and followed the directions that were posted (got ROM Manager, downloaded nightly .zip files & GApps). I then tried to back up my ROM using ROM manager (didn't work but thats OK I have the ROM file on my PC). And did the factory restore/cache wipe and tried to flash the .zip files from my SD and it didn't work.
Here is what it says when I try to flash:
"E: failed to verify whole-file signature"
"E: signature verification failed"
Question 1) What could be causing this error?
Question 2) Should I try to flash a stock ROM first before attempting to flash ICS?
Question 3) do I really need to use ROM Manager?? Is there another method available (flashing from PC from Odin)?
I am hesitant about doing this on the fly because when I updated to Gingerbread in November I had a good scare with my phone - soft bricked it, fixed that, and then got it stuck in a boot loop, then had issues with boot logo conflict between Rogers a AT&T. I was out of a phone for about a day working madly to fix it. I would like to avoid it again at all cost.
Phone Information:
Firmware Version: 2.3.4
Baseband Version: I897UCKH3
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I897UCKH3-CL461307
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.UCKH3
Please help I appreciate it!!

[Q] HELP! Flashing Stock thru Odin not Working!

OK - So I'm not a noob, but also dont have tons of and indepth experience when it comes to this stuff. I know enough about flashing custom recovery and roms / flashing back to stock / yada yada yada ....
I'm on Verizon S3 i535 4.4.2 (yes I know the bootloader's locked and there isnt anything I can do, custom that is, to this phone)
So, I rooted - loaded safestrap - even loaded the ONE custom rom (which was a debloated stock) that I could find. Decided I wanted it all back to stock - went to sammobile.com / downloaded the correct one and flashed through odin - it was ALMOST at the end and getting ready to reboot when BOOM - FAILED pops up and then it went to the Firmware Upgrade/Downgrade Problem (with the triangle). I can boot into the actualy download mode, like you normally would for odin - try to get recovery and get that Firmware screen. I have a feeling it's a Partition issue (cause for the debloated rom I installed, I had to make a "Rom slot" for it) - but i dont know how to fix that!
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Easiest way to reinstall stock rom

Hi all as title states my moto g is downloading the new 5.0 update but during install it says error and switches phone back on with no changes made. It was rooted and custom firmware was installed. Since then uts back to fully unrooted, stock recovery is reinstalled and bootloader is still unlocked. However still it errors a quarter into installing.
So i have come to the assumption that it is best for me to revert/ reinstall the stock 4.4.4 rom back on and try updating after that. However seen loads of complicated methods on how to reinstall the stock firmware onto my phone so want the easiest way if possible.
In attatchments is the info from the current stock rom that is on the phone (will state a custom rom has never been installed to the phone always been stock) and i have downloaded the following to put onto it:
XT1032_RETAIL-GB_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.40_36_cid7_CFC_1FF.xml.zip
Ive tried using the mototools v3.1 and does abserlitly nothing non of the commants work or do anything with my phone.
So which is the easiest method?
Many Thanks
major problems!!!!!
Stock recovery installed to phone. Started update it was installing and got to 3/4 of the way through, errored, restarted and not goes in a loop saying no command!
Phone will not switch on!!!
Why has this happened?
If fastboot is too convoluted - using a custom recovery, flash one of these zips:

What update were you installing when it errored?
