Pogo pins battery case released - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=150832551334
This is a Chinese battery case that makes use of the pogo pins. It is 2200mah (but probably less) and should give a good increase to battery life in addition to the internal one already.
Should fit the att one x as dimensions are same as international one x.
Is cheap also at $20 and looks like a matte texture.
Feel free to discuss in this thread and post impressions/reviews if anyone receives it.
Will order mine soon for my international one x.

If its made for the international one x the pins wont line up.

Damn I would love something like this! I wish it would line up I would have ordered it already ):

Ah I've forgotton the pins were shifted. There's another one on eBay that has a bigger battery but is a lot uglier that says works with the one xl

Ugly and expensive. The one in the OP would've been so perfect.

I know this phone doesn't have Galaxy popularity, but it did sell quite significantly when it was released. I'm surprised a company hasn't made an extended battery case for it yet.

Pogo shmogo, what's the point? Is there any advantage besides quickly putting it in and taking it out of a dock?
Sent from my HTC One X

I wrote an email to mugen-power-batteries if they have any plans for extending the battery for HTC ONE XL and the support team said they have started work on it nd it should be released pretty soon. Mugen-power make excellent batteries for those of you who dont know them. SO yeah get excited. If you bored check out the video below of me stabbing my HTC ONE XL screen to test how tough nd scratch resistant it is, u will be impressed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpR306UYNBc

Less wear and tear on the charging port. Also, the case would probably have to be made pretty awkwardly since are charging port is on the side of the phone.

I PMed the seller and he says it fits both to One X and the One XL so go figure.

Batteries at these capacities are usually not that cheap. The battery's capacity might actually be half of what's stated
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk 2

Even half is better than nothing for $30.

Well it could really be a 700mah that stops working after a week.

Would rate it around 70% of stated which in addition with the battery already in thr phone = quite significant.
If you think about it a 1500mah battery isn't that big and a result is its cheap and slim. 1800+1500= 3300mah so it's quite significant either way.
As for quality it's a toss up but in waiting for people up get their hands on one in the international thread. Id expect it to work well though

Does anyone know if it's technically possible to make a Pogo pin case that has a battery & an SD card slot? That would be cool...

That's a good idea, but how would the phone utilize the SD card? There would have to be some micro usb and software mods to get it to work.

That model seems like a bad idea. First, it seems strange to me that the front plate is held on by a really small and flimsy looking hook. That to me gives me the impression that it could fall off really easily.
Also, the sides being open around the screen mean pocket lint is going to collect in there and on a normally white phone it may look really bad.
Finally, he showed it off without any SIM card I noticed. I would like to see someone test the signal attenuation that is caused by the all metal case. It may not affect signal at all but I would want someone else to confirm that before plunking down ~$30.
Just wait a few months, they will be sold for $12-16.

I got one on Friday. It fits our device fine but it is a complete piece of garbage. Very cheap feeling, finish is crap and the front part that slides in is not secured well.

It looks like it should. Typically only two points are charging points where the others are data.
but it says for the one x and xl would it work on both?? cause arent he pins located a lil different
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-3500m...ccessories&hash=item25720c45d5#ht_4857wt_1137
That one seems a lot more probable to work with this device since it only says it works with the AT&T XL.and has no mention of the international one.
Plus, its a higher capacity than the others.

I asked a seller who was selling this if it'd work with the at&t version and he said it would. Same case, but is 24 dollars.
Wow, that is a clever way to make a charging case.
When i first looked at it im like "how would that work?" , but the pin connectors on the back can charge so im sure itll work
Anything that is not specifically made for the XL will NOT work.
I have both of the cases and they don't work with the XL but they do work with the X.
The pins are slightly shifted on the XL and all those sellers are not aware of this.

[Flip Case] found a flip case on ebay

I was kinda attracted to the flip cases available for the htc one x ..
after a small resear found some .. but the one which i liked the most is

i was just wondering , if anyone tried it ? looks sexy.. but 18$ isn't worth untill i know it works fine..
I haven't tried it but is be scared to use one without a screen protector
A tiny piece of sand could get caught in there and eff up your screen

yeah true .. but i wont invest that much money in the case until and unless i have the confirmation that it works perfectly
i was just thinking that someone might have give it a go ..
27$ that's too much , with the fact that i dont know for how much time will i carry my ONE X .. hehehe..
actually i was looking for something like the SAMSUNG NOTE CASE ..
Thats a really good looking case, but I've been rolling naked for a while and i have the same concern about sand as superchilpil, don't want any more scratches

Got this original HTC flip case from expansys.com and it's quite legit! Also downloaded smart screen off app, that way phone screen would automatically turn on and off when open/closed the flip. Worth the money!

I don't understand the pictures on the website, bad photoshop? There's a fin looking thing on the left side that's maybe for the volume keys, except it would be on the wrong side of the phone... Also an opening on bottom right side of case. I'm so confussled.
If it charges via the pogo pins I don't know if it will work, as our pins line up differently than the onex ones do

Trade off between sleek design and extended battery

I've been looking at some extended battery's for the AT&T One X. And they're absolutely hideous. I found this to be the best http://www.prweb.com/releases/ATT/HtcOneX/prweb9778396.htm but it completely changes the design and feel of the phone and it costs $100.
I don't expect to have this phone for more than 2 years so it might not be worth to spend that much on a battery. I'm looking at something under $30.
Have you guys found something better? Something that doesn't change the look/feel of the phone by much? Maybe a battery case that can be removed when the extra battery isn't needed.
I don't even use a case on my phone because i like the way it looks and feels. But sometimes i need the phone to last 5-6 hours of heavy usage and that's impossible with the stock battery.

+1 on that. I have one of the rechargeable battery packs that I carry with me that is compatible with my phone and other mobile devices. Just plug it in for a half hour or so and you have enough charge on your phone to keep going. Not as intrusive as you might think and it's only temporary and usually out of sight (say when you're walking somewhere you don't need your phone).
Personally, I would NEVER get one of those battery pack cases. Like you said, it destroys the look of the phone.
