read this http://www.bbh-plus.net/showthread.php?5618-Syssctl-Config-tweaks-explained&
-Min Free KBytes (vm.min_free_kbytes) -This is used to force the Linux VM to keep a minimum number of kilobytes free. The VM uses this number to compute a pages_min value for each lowmem zone in the system. Each lowmem zone gets a number of reserved free pages based proportionally on its size
-Dirty Ratio (vm.dirty_ratio) and Dirty Background Ratio (vm.dirty_background_ratio) control how often the kernel writes data to "disk" (in our case the internal microSD system card, not the removable microSD card). When your apps write data to disk, Linux actually doesn't write the data out to the disk right away, it actually writes the stuff to system memory and the kernel handles when and how the data is actually going to be flushed to the disk. These values represent a percentage, the higher the percentage, the longer it waits to flush, the lower the percentage, the more often flushes will occur. Now remember, we are deeling with solide state storage, not the traditional disk platter and spindle. So we are actually able to delay flushes a little longer with solid state versus a traditional hard drive disk
-VFS Cache Pressure (vm.vfs_cache_pressure) -Now here is where it gets interesting! File system cache (dentry/inode) is really more important than the block cache above in dirty ratio and dirty background ratio, so we really want the kernel to use up much more of the RAM for file system cache, this will increas the performance of the system without sacraficing performance at the application level. The default value is 100, as a percentage, and what you want to do is lower the value to tell the kernel to favor the file system cache and not drop them aggressively.
-Oom Allocating Task (vm.oom_kill_allocating_task) (enable or disable, generally in Linux this value is either a "1" or a "0," representing as on or off.) -This enables or disables killing the OOM-triggering task in out-of-memory (oom) situations. If this is set to zero, or disabled, the OOM killer will scan through the entire tasklist and select a task based on heuristics to kill. This normally selects a rogue memory-hogging task that frees up a large amount of memory when killed. If this is set to non-zero, or enabled, the OOM killer simply kills the task that triggered the out-of-memory condition. This avoids the expensive tasklist scan, which can take mass amounts of time and "hang" or freeze the system.

I use lightning zap which already applies pretty much all these tweaks.
Some of the other tweaks in this post I don't think our phones will really use or need.....due to the HD picture and video that's built in to the galaxy s series.
Also I do believe most these tweaks are already written in by the dev's of our custom roms .
But Thank you for your work and dedication.

Hey.!
Titanium Tweaker is a CPU optimizing application which helps you boost up your Phone's CPU and make it faster.
The application tweaks the kernel, as the name suggest, such as to change the Scaling Frequency, Governors and Schedulers.
Also this app is universal so will work on all ROMs and Phones which support the features!
Fellow Developers! Feel free to add this app to your release's ramdisk
Previous Users of this app must have noticed that this app is updated after ages Actually i did not update it,
I completely rebuild it from scratch ! with a better heirarchy , sleeky UI, a fast Interface, and sexier tweaking
So you may miss features like Prop Editor, Turbo Charger, Customized toggles, etc
These features will be added in the next few releases after which i will work on better tweaks :laugh:
Current Features of this application :-
* Cpu Frequency Optimization
* Governor Selection
* Choice of Available Scheulers
many old and new features coming back
Titanium Kernel Users :- There will be updates on kernel specific parts too like voltage and other scripts Stay tuned for it.. You can get the voltage working version from Aditya's SL kernel Thread till then
The application works right from froyo upto JellyBean (4.2)
Note :- ROOTED USERS ONLY !!! no, i was'nt shouting,, its so that it comes to you attention
Supporting all SU binaries and works with all kernels and roms.. If you are on stock, it will not work..
DOWNLOAD :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adipat.root
Credits :-
Aditya Patange (adi_pat) - could'nt have dont it without you
Ajay Kawte (speed_bot) - appreciation

Please let me tell u, this is not v6 script,, as that rearranges priorities, specially the launcher, this app is a multi purpose tweaker, My turbo Charger just adjusts settings of the LMK values and provides differant options!
THIS IS NOT THE SCRIPT, JUST A PART OF IT && it does not lag on any other phone, not e1 galaxy y, i have tested it my self, it freezes just for 2 seconds ONLY ON THE FIRST USE, as it has to gather all SU permissions at once, Thats it.. its fluent after that
Use it for the toggles it has, for the admin functions it allows u, the customization it allows u, and lots more!
Maybe u should conversate w/ zepp then

Hi
Since I use Titanium kernel with UV I can help to test this
as soon as you have anything to test
Just some things I noticed:
Most are more "cosmetic"
-filter out freq that are not "possible"
Nicer then to show "NoFreq"
-same for goveners and IO Sched
Regards

Thanks. I would "rate" such a thing as "cosmetic"
Since it does not influence the functionality.
First of all "safe functionality" is most important to me
for such an app.
But the "eye candy" factor may influence more how
"popular" the app will become. Human brain tends to be
attracted more by "visual" things

Ok, lemme tell u 2 things
1) This app is completely safe, no chances of bricking or getting in a bootloop
and
2) This app is completely functional, not just a cosmetic , as u said..
It does have various functions that devlopers and advance users find useful,
Please tell me that why do u think that this app does not influence functionality ?
Thank You
nice work make my lg p350 laggfree keep it up

I think you misunderstood what he was saying. When saying 'most are cosmetic', it means that most of his issues aren't with the actual functionality of the app, more with the look/feel of it. Things like hiding invalid options instead of basically making them unselectable are 'cosmetic'.
Btw, im playing around with your app. Ill post some feedback afterwards.

i want to disable hardware overlay and i'm on my micromax a110 stock ics rom 4.0.4. but the disable hardware overlay option is missing under developer options. i want to use software called screencast thats why i need to enable this option.
Have you tried to add this code to build.prop?
debug.composition.type=gpu

For your reference, I use several codes like this in my phone :
debug.sf.hw=1
video.accelerate.hw=1
debug.egl.profiler=1
debug.performance.tuning=1
debug.egl.hw=1
debug.composition.type=gpu

I was interested in this too, and found this line:
system_init.startsurfaceflinger=0
which is written to settings when i tick the option. But it does nothing, 'disable hw overlays' was still off at reboot.
I got the answer that settings app passes the command directly to surfaceflinger, so setting stays only untill reboot because of that (seems it's intended behavior).
Now i don't know what command that is, but if i did, then i could make init.d script.
Now there is a plugin for tasker (smart settings) that has this option, but tasker is not free, and neither is this plugin. I am surely not gonna buy these 2 apps just for this one setting (tasker might come handy someday though).
So if someone finds out about command that needs to be passed to surfaceflinger bin, please post it.:good:
After flashing Atomods Sucessfully i tried to enable CRT animation ( Mentioned in note that : have to edit the Built.prop to enable animation) as follow
Add # before the line <debug.sf.hw=1>
Like this < #debug.sf.hw=1 >
After doing this CRT animation works fine but i cant able to see my bootanimation only it sounds..
Any ideas/helps..

This line forces GPU to render graphics. In the early gingerbread roms, debug.sf.hw=1 is the source of a pain for all users, slowing ALL popup animations and lagging them badly, and also rendering the screenoff animation inexistent.
The solution is deleting that line or put a # behind, so its not being read by the system.So, doing that has this problem but your system will work much smoother.
This is just my opinion!

I jus take it as a opinion and disabled debug.sw.hw=1 coz there's no use of bootanimation for me..
Thanks again..

well its a tweak, you can add 16 bit transparency as well and as i said that tweak is the same thing as this
debug.sf.hw=1
debug.composition.type=gpu
if you add both the system should run smoother but i guess its not battery friendly
also if you want ultimate smoothness but a less battery life you can add this in build.prop
debug.sf.hw=1
debug.composition.type=gpu
debug.composition.type=cpu
this will force both gpu and cpu to work the graphics
i gave it a try and added the 16bit transparency and well it really works better
so yea, enable all these

if you are asking me if im on stock, no. im now on inspiration as it has no bugs.
you should stay on any gb rom for now as the most of jb roms have a lot of bugs.
the only i like is techkang's cm + kernel 3 but it has the usb charging bug and that is the way i charge my phone nowadays
