TalkBack (or Speil) help - General Questions and Answers

Is there any way (shorcut or command) that can enable TalkBalks? (Accessibility feature for blind people).
My phone and android Tab (both running custom ROMs and rooted kernals) are also used by a blind person but I dont want talkbacks to be constantly on.
To turn it on, I always have to go to settings -> Accessibility --> talkback --> ON. Need a simple shortcut.. Anyone, please help me out here. It would be great if a hardware button could trigger it!
Help would definately be appreciated!
Thanks in advance
(P.S. If I add a "shorcut" through launchers, Talkback doesnt show)

anyone??
might be willing to pay a couple of $$. cant do much.. student

[Q] Remove Skyrocket Lock screen voice

Every time I want to use my phone, I have to hear the annoying voice stating the current time. How can I remove the audio from the lock screen? Thank You.

Unfortunately this is not it. I checked that already. Everytime I receive a phone call or a text msg. their is a voice notification of the person who is calling/texting. I like that but just don't want that on the lock screen every time I want to use the phone. I would greatly appreciate any help in this matter. THANK YOU!!!
I think you have car mode ON in voice and search settings.

Disable voice
Applicatons-Settings-voice input and output-text to speech-driving mode (enable or disable)
If you disable driving mode, you will not have any more announcements, if you want to have it enabled, go to the driving mode settings and select the items that you would like the phone to announce. The unlock screen announcement is at the bottom of the settings.
Note: These steps are for a stock, unmodded ROM.

Disable Explore by Touch

I just accidentally enabled explore by touch as I enabled talk back. According to Google support pages there's no way to turn it off independently of talkback without a factory reset. I figured somebody here could probably come up with a more reasonable solution.
Thanks in advance

So Explore by Touch is enabled (sort of) as long as ANY program is listed under Accessibility > Services set to ON
So either Talkback, or any app.
In my case I get accouncements of "The Folder is Open" even with everything off and Talkback uninstalled.
Doesn't look like anyone will help.

I see the same thing on my Note II. For me it was using the Light Flow App... It turns on a service in accessibility. turning that off gets rid of the talkback announcements. So it seems that the bottom line is: stop using whatever installed/enabled the service, or live with the announcements

HELP! this damn text to speech is driving me nuts.

100% stock verizon s3. not rooted , & barley any thing on it.
Today it started to read practically everything to me....mostly facebook, but also texts, & calls.
Driving mode is off,
talk back is off
i dont have Lightflow installed.
im confused. the ONLY thing that i did do today was enable Driving mode to test it out, the i turned it off. (via the notification area, as well as enabled then disabled it via the settings menu...)
anyone have any ideas WTF is going on?> also a reboot did not fix it.
My Nexus 7 did the same thing to, but it stopped on its own

its now also reading everything from the XDA app
Go into settings, accessability, and turn off text to speech feature
I think I just figured out, the number one tool to own if you're going to own a Samsung phone is a sense of humor.
I'm sorry OP, but your thread cracks me up and every time I read your post
no one has any idea how to turn this off?

I LOL some more. I'm giving this **** 5 stars.
I should not have to turn it off. Then is mostly a circumvent and not a solution
Also I am not sure what is so entertaining about the post

Unless you are visually impaired or need total hands free operation Text to Speech should be disabled.

i installed LED flow which needed to have some accessibility options enabled, and after that my voice started too. i never did check the box to turn it on, but it did it on its own.
i uninstalled LED flow as i did not like it, and everything else returned to normal.
When you click a folder on your home screen does it say "The folder is open" and/or "The folder is closed"? If it does it means you have something in accessibility turned on. I use tasker. Some of the features requires tasker accessibility turned on. When I do that I get the annoying text to speech notifications like that. Only way to turn them off is to have nothing all at enabled in accessibility. I dont have to disable tts in language and input, so I can still use google now, eva voice assistant and astrid still reads me my reminders. But I cannot use any tasker task that requires accessibility, without hearing" the folder is open. The folder is closed" etc etc etc.

That's what it was saying to me. It was annoying. Like I said I went in and removed led flow, reset all the accessibility settings and it's silent now.

Turn off driving mode. Or go to setting>text to speech> touch the word driving mode> uncheck what you do not want for S3 to speak

[how to] disable wifi power saving mode

Having trouble with your wifi dropping out? I was, until i found the 'service mode' dialer code using *#0011#: once you access the field, push the menu button for options and select 'wifi' from the dropdown(popup?) list. In there is an option to disable 'wifi power-saving mode'. It doesn't seem to be a solution for everybody, but it sure helped me! Also, I don't believe this sticks through a reboot. I didn't discover this by accident, I found it on the s3 forum posted by Robalboa, go here and thank him if it helps you as much as it helped me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271751&page=2
*this in absolutely no way implies i know anything more than reposting a link, use this feature at your own risk.
won't help me cause this phone rocks, but nice find man!:beer:

Advanced messaging and how to properly turn it on and off!

So I'm sure we all know about advance messaging and the way it functions as if it were imessage, anyways I've noticed many times where people would ask how to get it on and such and I myself at one point didn't know either but I'd like to share how to properly turn it on as its an unusual and unsuspected setting haha! Anyways let's begin and yes I know many people already know but this is for people that don't!
To turn Advanced messaging on or off, follow these steps:
*
Turn ON/OFF VoLTE{which is what allows advance messaging to work}Data network
From any Home screen, tap*Phone.
Tap the*MORE*icon.
Tap*Settings.
Tap*Voice over LTE settings.
Select one of the following:
Turn on: Use VoLTE when available(enables advance messaging!)
Turn off: Do not use VoLTE(disables advance messaging!)
Hope this helps! Enjoy!!

VoLTE enable automatic dude....its not like its off out of the box.
How about just turning off the notification for it that is literally always there and cannot be swiped away?
