you can go to fastboot mode by switching off your phone and then press (volume down + power) button to turn on your phone to bootloader. Use the volume up and down to navigate in the menu. In that menu navigate to fastbot and press power button. Now, plug in your usb charger.Note that you wont get the orange led while charging.. but it'll get charged

Why not just charge your phone with it powered off? Fastboot keeps the screen on, so there will be higher drain.

It will charge faster in fastboot then it will booted up as there is no OS hogging the battery, you all know that android os generally is the thing that uses the battery most! As for the fastboot thing, i cant see it doing it faster than being turned off.Doing it while turned off actually charges it more accurately and can take hours! It's the correct way to calibrate it

Charge your Sensation fast - turn it off.
Problem solved. Next!
You can also put it in airplane mode if you don't want to turn it off. The gsm/3g signal costs the most energy from your battery
Mine usually takes ~30 mins to charge from 10% to 100%. I don't see why fastboot would help at all. If it takes longer than an hour, try rebooting. Often the battery percentage 'freezes' showing an incorrect percent.

Hello Xda, I just have a quick question. How do you remove the "unable to use flash due to battery being under 25%". I have an higher capacity battery so at 25% I still have about two hours of music left on my phone.
Sometimes at work I NEED the Camera to be fully functioning without a stupid warning stopping me.

Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
I would like to know too, if there is a way to disable that through a MOD. But I have the feeling that someone will just tell us to flash a ROM that has the limitation removed. I know the flashlight won't work either, but you can download a market flashlight and it will work all the way to 0%, so there has got to be a way with the camera flash to work to 0% also.

I'm facing some battery problems at the moment. My battery drains extremely fast that it won't last past half a day. When I charge it it charges extremely fast from 0-50%, then slows down. When I restart the phone at around 60% when charging, the phone becomes fully charged.. anyway to solve this issue ?

Don't worry, incorrect battery information is common after flashing a new ROM.
What you need to do is download a Battery Calibration app from the Play Store.
I recommend this one. Charge your phone to 100% and calibrate.
It can also be the first signs of your battery beginning to die.

Random shut downs often occur due to over heating of the battery.
I guess if you aren't experiencing any of that, you don't have any problems with battery temperature.
How old is the battery? And how suddenly has the problem come up?
I run into this problem many times.
But very simple solution if there's nothing wrong with battery or phone.
1.reboot into recovery.
2. Wipe battery stats under advanced.
3. Let your phone completely die on battery. Turn it back on couple of time and let it die.
4. Charge your phone to 100% + 10-15 extra mins.
5. Reboot into recovery and clear battery stats again.

I do something like this, but without all the extra hassle. There is an app called Battery Calibration, it shows you a read of your batteries mV and it does the same thing as the above, wipes battery stats.
I use it to check my mV, which with an anker 1900 the max mV is 4203. I keep my phone on charge once it hits 100%, then allow it to drop down to 99%, unplug it and plug it back in, it takes several times doing this, but once my battery % being 100 and my max mV (4200), match, I wipe my battery stats (Hit battery calibration.)
One thing I have noticed with ALL ICS ROMs is the incorrect battery reading after rebooting. You'll have say 56%, once you reboot it will jump 15-30% and show, say 79%. Then it drops quickly down what it was prior to the reboot.
Doing a battery calibration in no way helps extend battery life, for me it just does the same thing that will happen after several cycles anyhow, it just saves you time from having to run multiple cycles to get your device and battery to sync up.
This is just what I personally do, I know people are going to post saying that doing a battery calibration is pointless, and probably point you to where google even said it, etc, etc. As far as the calibration doing anything special, it doesn't. I simply do this to get my device (When at 100%) to see my battery at 100% (4200mV). It works for me.

Yes! Once you start using a spare battery, you should ALWAYS alternate between the two batteries. Otherwise, it will affect the life of the battery.
Use One, Drain it, Use the other, Drain it, and repeat the cycle. Always charge your battery through your phone and not through a battery charger as this will charge the battery in highly optimum conditions and the phone will keep a track of the battery status.
so about a day ago my htc sensation stopped working out of no where, it wont turn on at all ,led indicator blinks temporarily then stops ,it was working perfectly fine then i charged it overnight and when i woke up half asleep i yanked the charger of the wall with the phone still charging, did i short circuit it or something ? is that why it wont turn ?

It's not bricked.. It sucked the internal power for now from the phone and went to deep sleep state.. Happens when you do too much of wire tricks fails..
The solution is remove battety, sim and sdcard... Then charge the phone overnight or at least 6-7 hours.. That will bring back phone to life

Yeah that should work because that happened to me when I was trying to s-off my sensation. I just took the battery and everything or then charged it overnight then when I woke up turned it on, as good as new! I then tried the wire truck again and got it first time.

Ok that means that you have some hardware broked. Try yourself to use all hardware. Ex: camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, mobile conn, light sensor, front facing camera, sofkeys, microSD, try also plugin to the computer, then try speakers and microphone. Write if you have some problem

the strange thing is that even if i try to charge it while turned off, the battery drains instead of charging till no power left.

i'm afraid so...when i try to charge it (phone off), the orange led turns on for a few seconds, turns off then turns on again and it stays.
does that mean anything?
i'll try to buy another battery to see if the problem insists.

No problem I also have this , is only the recovery that power on. Don't worry about that. Well try, maybe you can try to use your phone without sim card.

Well your battery drain too fast. Did you try doing a nandroid backup of and then installing cyanogenomd. And then if you have better battery life you can install other Rom. If you like sense 4.1. Then try elegancia, if you like sense 3.6 try hypertreadyng
