Our main goal is to port the HTC Sense to all non-sense devices.
Developers currently:
- Whosdaman
Kernel DEVs
- DevinXtreme
APKs Modifiers
- IN NEED
ROMs Porters

Anyone else want in? We are in need of developers for the Epic. If you wish to join in let me know and I'll be more then glad to fill you in. It's a closed project, but will be public to everyone once we get it ready.
UPDATE: We will be basing the ROM port off of the Desire Z for all devices over the Desire HD due to landscape support in sense, keyboard support for Epic, and overall performance.

Are you going to wait for the Froyo source? Or build it off Eclair? It's not going to be easy, but I'm sure you already know that Sense is built into the kernel and framework.
Anyways, you've got my support

O we know, we are recruiting the best devs around for this project. We were going to wait for the Froyo source on the Epic...for right now we are collecting.
The Epic's port will be based off the Desire Z source since it is closest to our device.
We don't know about the other yet...whether it is HD or Z that is best for those
Subscribed and looking forward to this with great delight. Feel free to let me know if there is anything I can do from testing to bricking lmao. you know where and how to find me lol
I'd love to help out, you just tell me what to do! I'm not sure how much I can help, as I am new to this all. But I have enough time and devotion to be a big team player. I am a big fan of sense UI and would LOVE to help this get ported to the Epic. Where do we start? Assign me a job

I understand yours, as well as everyone elses want for SBC. Absolute truth? I don't use it. I find the small increase in life I get not worth the potential harms and quicker EOL of my battery. I would prefer, at this moment in time, to continuing improving the kernel in other ways.

You really gotta be a **** like that?
The Guy summed up the ridiculousness of all the SBC demands, and you still Focked with him. Not very cool.
Dont get me wrong, I appreciate all your contributions to xda, but seriously, someone makes a valid point and you mock him, even though you agree with his point? It defies any psychoanalysis I can even come up with.
Just my .02¢, but Jesus, I don't get it. You develop good stuff, why you gotta sh1t on people?
Maybe you thought you just kept the joke going, hope that's the case, and if so, disregard my post. But it's sure hard to tell (I know I would have taken it as a slam)

(Q) Is anyone closer to or working to resolve Bluetooth issue for aokp/cm9?

First off, I want to say that I read the threads extensively, including the cm9 and nunhuggers uniporn threads and I know that neither rom, nor any other cm9 based rom has working Bluetooth.
I realized from what I've read so far that this is a major task and fixing it is going to be a pain, so please if you have an issue with this topic be nice or don't read it. Don't bash me for asking a question. I use Bluetooth and love the ics Roms that have been released so I gave up bluetooth use to use nunhuggers aokp rom which is amazing.
Allentown I want to know is IF anyone is actively working on a resolution for this issue.
Thanks in advance for any useful information you can provide and as always, thank you to all you developers out there for created such amazing roms for us infuse users.

As far as i know bluetooth is a kernel side problem...so.it would take a kernel dev to fix...and since entropy and jt are the only two.who have worked on ics kernel...id say they are the only two who may be working on bluetooth...

I've never worked on a Linux or Android Kernel - it's been almost a decade since I touched C/C++. I've often wondered the chances of a seasoned developer (C# here) who wasn't been around a lot of C/C++ development solving the bluetooth issue. In the end, learning some of these things comes down to brute force trial and error. However, it would be nice to know from an experienced kernel dev what we'd be up against - or where to start hammering.
Is this something one could do in the evening and get back to a usable phone by the next morning? I'd hate to have to pull out the candy-bar Nokia...but I bet it still works (and with awesome battery+voice quality)!
Also Hdmi would be nice

Just trying to put some of the different information together. I'd seen bits and pieces but wasn't aware of it all...
A previous thread in this forum showed that the Infuse uses the CG2900 by ST Ericsson.
In jt1134's ICS Rom thread, pdtp stated that the Sony Xperia Sola uses the NOVATHORTM U8500 which contains the CG2900. This phone is expected to be released with 2.3 Gingerbread but updated to 4.0 ICS.
Other device(s) have used the CG2900, with the attempt at integration discussed by LinuxBozo.
Alright, I've taken my first steps into a larger world. I've installed Linux to my laptop and I'm gonna see if I can start the long and seemingly complicated road to kernel development.
My ultimate goal is to attempt to create a kernel with HDMI out support, working Bluetooth, full HD video playback, and a few more needs for the Infuse that need fulfilling, including better battery life and greater wifi range quality.
I know it wont be easy at all considering the two ICS kernels we have are made by tried and true pros, but even they started somewhere, and made some mistakes. No greater teacher for software development than trial and error. Wish me luck folks.
Sent from my SGH-I997 aka subject 0, CM9 using xda premium
Best of luck to you. If you go out and search Google for CG2900 Snowball you'll see that even the original developers of the chip were seeking help determining how they should implement their driver. There's open issues with it under Linux as well. I'm amazed it made it into a phone in this kindof shape.
Perhaps that's why the hope is on the Sony phone - they've been fairly transparent as of late with source code drops on their Android phones. Maybe they'll take the time and clean up the driver for the phone?
Thanks, hopefully there is a way to integrate it. I've got a ton of reading to do, let me ask this, is a device's kernel limited to programming native to that device only? I.e., porting that bluetooth tree over to the Infuse? Or that of the Galaxy S II?

Thanks Mushroom. I want to just say that I'm not doing this because I'm unhappy with our current ICS Kernels, but because I want to give our devices more variety with development.
We're at the mercy of the kernel no matter how impressive the Rom, just imagine having full capabilities and having our community push out ICS original Roms and other devices seeking to port from us!!

Wish you luck. Probably best if you start of his, then build around it modding the kernel, as i think building it yourself is very hard.
Its very intimidating. May start with a Gingerbread base and see what I can migrate over to ICS

Team Work

I must say. I am not really impressed with the latest ongoings in the dev forum!
People you must understand. Just changing themes and calling them different custom roms IS NOT VALID!
They are called themes.!!
The only solution to this is team-work. Everyone is good at something! So instead of making 2 different products, collaborate together and make something better than two individual products.
I am ready to help. I might rope in cocafe and diego as well.
Just one condition : you should be having some basic knowledge about android! So people who don't know how to get a logcat, please stay away for now.
Just my 2 cents. Waiting for your input.
I do not respond to tech support via PM

If you used stock as base even that can be counted as being different at this stage people are using 1 custom rom as base and the third person is using the 2nd rom as his base, theming that and publishing it ! that's stretching it!

I hope the result is not a themed ui but a tweaked rom with new capabilities like aosp locker (toggle), crt off effect, ink effect, ripple (toggle), performance tweaks, integrated kernel (maybe?), ota updates, new specific apps, etc.
I didn't create a new app to tweak cocafe or adi's kernels because they will make their own, if you have any app idea I could think about it and it could be added to the rom
Also removing useful samsung apps like allshare or touchwiz is not making it better, at least make an aroma installer to let the user choose
Make a base rom and I will try to help

Lol ask shaaan that I haven't been reading up since months due to continuous tests n stuff. I totally agree with you Shaan. I think that is really pointless having 2 ROM-s who are based on Chuckybean. I don't have much knowledge in developing ROMs so I can't help, but I know if you, diego, cocafe and other developers team up together, there will be a ROM much, much better than that what we now have.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

[APP] [2.2+] MBQs CPU Guide [3/13/13]

Hello all!
I'm MBQsniper, aka Kyler, and this an app I'm working on.
What is it?
It's a mobile version of my CPU guide found in my signature, it's a heavy work in progress, so don't expect anything too fancy. yet. Ill be adding a section for I/O Schedulers soon, along with other things im going to keep a secret for now.
Information regarding the app:
It was made in Eclipse, using Ubuntu 10.04.4
Copied/pasted with very few changes straight from my guide
Again, it's a heavy work in progress, but will get better as times goes on
Bugs:
As of right now, I have found no bugs using the app with my rooted Toro (VZW GNex) running Android 4.2.2, if you find bugs, please report them with as much detail as possible.

If you're wanting critiques I'd link to works cited. If it's a non-standard governor I'd want to know who made it, if they still actively develop it, and what their definition is- unless your definition is better. Personally I like knowing what the creator was intending as it's rather unconventional to use a nonstandard governor. Also,I could see this extend to explain tcp congestion avoidance algorithms and io schedulers.
Also, if they had visual explanations that always helps... but only if they can be explained in a uniform pattern.
There are several faqs like this in forum posts. If someone did it right it'd be nice to have a definitive reference. Depends on how far you want to take it
