Huh, guess I don't actually have a Skyrocket since that is exactly what my device looks like. What the hell have I been using for the past seven months?!?
EDIT: Oh crap, I think you meant that the OG Galaxy SII is showing a picture of the skyrocket or i9100. This is screwed up!

Funny, my skyrocket looks wrong too!

Had to start a new post to show the picture:
I wonder if this incorrect picture for the i777 is contributing to the brickings due to flashing i777 roms on the Skyrocket. Still not a good excuse, but this could be very confusing for a noob...
EDIT: Wasn't sure who to report this to, so I found a mod in the i777 forum and pm'd him...
Heck- most if the Samsung phones look pretty close anyway.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
True, most do look similar. But i777 and i727 look pretty close as device names to a n00b, which really doesn't help either. That physical menu button on the og sgs2 might be just enough to make them stop and say, "Hey, that doesn't look like my phone..."
But as I said, it's still no excuse for not being careful when flashing roms. The risks are known and if you need to learn the lesson the hard way by bricking, so be it. All it takes is one hard brick to slap some sense into people (most people, at any rate).

Would flashing a samsung captivate kernal or an i9000 kernal brick the infuse? Im still kind of new and I dont want to mess it up. I searched google and the forums and came up with nothing. I really need my BLN back checking my phone every 5 minutes is killing my battery. Im use to my samsung captivate with 2.3.3 serendipity 7 build 2. Is there any way to get the BLN?
Yes defuse kernel but its buggy with bln everyone is waiting for gb
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
I'm also a noob, but can i ask when do people think gb is coming out? What is the wait for? Samsung has to release an official port first?
Thanks
Yes and the devs have said they dont wanna have to refo everything over again so I woukd say within a month or so hoping thay is, need a good port
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
There are two paths to GB for us:
1) Samsung releases a GB port for our phone, rom devs tweak it
2) Someone takes the Cyanogenmod or AOSP source trees and ports them to our phone. This is a LOT harder - it hasn't even happened for about half of the Galaxy S series. (Cappy and i9000 seem to have support, Fascinate does not.)
well IMO this phone would have been perfect with an LED light

Mind heading over to the infuse development forums and providing a system dump to us AT&T users. It will greatly help the Custom ROM development on your shiny new Infuse and make it a better experience for everyone
That was my plan but my boss ran out with the only working demo.. gotta wait to get my own lol

I would love to get my hands on the infuse, from what I've read its an amazingly well built phone with the power to back up the looks and I've been a huge samsung fan since the first galaxy phones came out. I definitely will have to get one for dev/personal use when my finances allow, and also the wife....lol

Lol yeah it is huge the icons on it are bigger than some of my widgets on my cappy and I've seen portable dvd players with less screen. It truly is a monster of a phone, but in a good way, not like the motorola bricks of the 80's that you had no hope of fitting in even a large coat pocket, they were some sturdy pieces of tech though I have one that I held onto that's been thrown, sat on, coffee spilled on, the list goes on and it still powers on and holds a charge and had 0 cracks anywhere on it, well the last time I had it out anyways, its been a lil while and after moving its hard to say.

Google just about any phone with "burst into flames" and you'll get some hits. I think Apple owns the patent on exploding phones, they invented it.

Apple is the king of melting phones. I find it really odd that it never makes news anymore considering its still happening on a regular basis. A coworker just had his 4s melt down on his desk. It was completely stock too. Seems to happen a lot, but apple trolls are quick to remove that kinda stuff from the interwebz.

apple is going to sue samsung now that the gs3 is exploding
I didn't see if it was a quad core or our dual variant, but the tear down of a quad core only showed 2 copper spring contacts that link another board to main board and there really isn't much else in the area shown. Hard to tell I guess. I just dont see what could have caused that much damage.

I just want to thank all the devs that helped make this phone awesome, however as fates would have it I got my hands on a sgsiii yesterday and I won't be spending as much time in this forum anymore. But if anyone wants me to guinea pig something with my sgs4g I won't be afraid to do it lol. But thanks again guys, everything I know about this stuff is because of this forum.

Man the s3 is just incredible, I mean what an amazing device, you guys should really get a job and get one. Adios amigos!

Lol job....sorry but I do get paid well but $380.00 before the $50.00 mail in rebait for a tiny bit bigger screened copy of the S2 is hardly worth the money.....my contract is up and I'm ready for the upgrade but I think I'll wait till they come up with a better deal.
Hmm like I wonder what they'll do us for on the 4th of July...... I'm in no hurry I like having the upperhand before I have to bend over for another 2 yrs lol...then when I feel they're offering me a good deal (in which they never really are) I'll bend over. :-/

It is. Also, hopefully the Verizon logo on the front better be a sticker.
GS3 is still better!
How legit do we think that is? Verizon on the home button seems a little far fetched don't ya think?
This is Verizon. They'd do anything to make sure people knew it was a Verizon phone.
I just thank Samsung for not letting them do that on the S3.

uhhh YA.... Don't think ANY provider would do that but I did find it pretty cool that Verizon store is selling the Samsung battery cover WITHOUT their logo... LOL
Please tell me that is a sticker I can peel off. Pshh thats hideous.. kinda like that verizon logo that was one the s3 in that one commercial before it dropped... o well can always buy a new button
