I'll try it
oka cool thanks! i just installed the rom and fix about to start testing, will let you know how it goes...
s/n hmm.... my phone not charging no more thats a first and thats weird!
p.s. YESSSS!!!!! FINALLY MY 10TH POST THANKS!!!!

Be warned! The flash does work BUT be prepared to no be able to do Bluetooth calling and have low volume speakerphone. (Damn 2012 baseband!!) All roms are broken (even ice) with the sp/bt issue and there is no fix. I suggest you stick with a stock 2.3.4 build. It doesn't have these issues.

thanks... i'm not worry about bluetooth calling... but how low on the speakerphone? isn't the new baseband increase call quality? yeah i would stay on stock but the hellfire rom runs so fast i'm so used to it

Acctually a tester for hfp and the new Bb has Bluetooth working fine and no speaker phone issues.. make sure your ril is 21y too..

Congrats on the 10th post... let us in the hfp 2.2 thread know how you make out with your testing..
Sent from my LG-G2x using Tapatalk 2

speaker loud
YES!!! the call went thru and the speaker just as loud as when i first got the phone

OK I'll try changing the irl thing and set it. I won't hold my breath if it doesnt work though.

It didnt work. I matched the bands to the 2012 march update. I guess I'll just stick with HFP 2.2 with no bluetooth voice call support. :/

Moving to Q&A

I just flashed the new baseband zip from owain's post and my phone works fine now. This rom is awesome. SOOOO smooth and fast compared to my other ones.

[Q] 4.0.4 or LC1 low-mic related issues?

for the record, this is the 2nd 4.0.4 ROM that people have complained of them not being able to really hear me over the phone... I'm starting to wonder if it's 4.0.4 related or radio related? I was running kl2 on most of the 4.0.3 builds before the latest (lc1) was released along with 4.0.4
In short; anyone experience low-mic issues with this or any other 4.0.4 ROM? If you are or are not, please share your radio (baseband) & ROM combo! What would affect the mic volume? ROM, radio, kernal?
other things that might after this:
Kernal - AirKernal 3.9
Issues on:
Swamp goblin 4.0.4
Androiduser 4.0.4
I'm currently running MIUIXperience, kernel Cyanogemod 3.0.25 with radio I9020AUCK1 without this problem.
Have you tried other radios for your model?
i've only tried the latest LC1 radio... i get better 4G signal with it... but i might flash the KL2 radio...
is this issue radio related??
If you have hi-fi recording enabled in voodoo settings it can cause this.

Strangely enough... That worked lol... I swear I've had it enabled on previous versions and i didn't have these issues... I use my recorder at least once a week and talk on my phone daily so i always have it turned on but never heard anyone complain about this... I'll leave it off and turn it back on when I'm ready to record! Thanks

Does sound work properly and everything? Are you able to make calls using T-Mobile's Network?
Been reading through the thread. Apparently EB designed the newest version to work with the new BB.
I'm gonna backup and flash.

DEFINITELY working with v21y

Yay!!! Thanks guys
I'm gonna get the new baseband now. I've heard that using the LG update tool with an old version of clockwork can soft brick you. Anyone done it with clockwork 5.0.2.0?

I updated perfectly fine on Windows 7, running 2.3.3 stock ROM and had 5.0.2.0 Clockwork flashed at the time

Can someone tell me what does not work with EB ics right now? Because im running CM7 RC3 and dont have working bluetooth or speaker phone so might make the upgrade to ICS if its worth it.

I didn't test everything. I was mainly curious to see if the calling was clear. I didn't keep it on long as ics roms have sucky data for me.
As for video, I don't believe it works on any ics rom. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I don't really keep up with them because of the data issues.

From my testing, BT does not work on the latest EB AOSP 4.0.4 build 4 release.
also, FFC is upside down on new baseband.
personally, i'd stick with rooted stock or CM7 if your one V21Y. at least until doniqcc irons out the wrinkles. i flashed last night and restored my CM7 backup this morning after going overnight from unbelievably GOOD battery life on CM7 to unbelievably BAD battery life on EB. but it is nice knowing that good things are down the pipe for the G2x. dont lose hope for a fully functioning ICS =]

As much as I want a fully functional ICS rom for the G2x, I'm not holding my breath. Unless somebody sits down and starts figuring out the source code for HwA themselves.

Try to update to 2012 Baseband

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to update to the new baseband but everytime I run the fix my phone still says I have the july 2011 baseband. I am running Hellfire 1.8 and I tried to do it the way it says by flashing ROM, FIX, then GAPPS. but to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You must be on lg's stock Tom with the old baseband and the run lg's update tool

So I would need to go back to a stock ROM, update baseband, THEN go back to HFS 1.8 for it to go through?

I just got finished doing this, WOW the GPS has a fast lock now. Make sure that you flash the BB FIX after you restore you HFP
Guys I cant install the lg update tool. gets stuck around 10% then just stops. Im already having issues and I havent even gotten to the phone part lol help? tried rebooting laptop, running w7 64bit T420 8g RAM. I dont think its my laptop..
UPDATE: added screenshot of where setup gets stuck.
follow this thread. works like a charm. make a backup of your device first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248644
the steps in this thread will restore a stock gingerbread rom. when that is done, use nvflash and put the stock recovery back on as well
reboot your phone and do the update that way (over the air). look in About Phone under system settings and you will see a menu item at the top called software update (or something similar). use that to update your phone, you will end up with GB 2.3.4 and the new baseband
if you want to use a custom rom, eaglesblood build 4 has support for the new baseband built in or you can use CM7 RC3 or a currently nightly, or you can use either kwes or buru's roms, OR owain has a bb update zip that is supposed to work on any rom
good luck!
Sorry it just turned out that it was my jobs firewall that didn't allow the install to talk to the Lg servers. I got home and it worked so I now am running HFS 1.8 with the new baseband. Thanks for everyone's help on this.

how is your BT and call quality? those are issues on all but the stock 2.3.4 that comes with the new baseband (and the tweaked roms based off it)

The only thing I've tried through BT is tethering, as I dont use a BT headset, which works great. Call quality is clearer but not a huge difference. Data drops less often now though.

Try and get as many people to star that so perhaps the developers won't keep telling us it's "Hit or miss" and not a big issue.
I've had no luck with Bluetooth on new baseband but it works great on the stock 2.3.4 ROM from LG. Loaded with tons of bloatware to slow your phone down again.

i starred it and hope it gets fixed one way or the other and i agree, the new stock 2.3.4 works great and getting rid of bloat shouldn't be a problem however, just yesterday and today while running 2.3.4 my phone would just start getting really hot doing nothing but sitting in the holster, screen off, 4g off, BT off, wifi off, dont understand, but i put cm7 june 10 build on and now it doesnt do that
Yeah, I can run custom ROMs and all is well other than Bluetooth for call audio. My problem is I drive all day and have to use Bluetooth, so I'm stuck on stock
Hopefully it will get fixed.

Roms with working bluetooth with new baseband

Are there any roms that have working bluetooth call audio that work with the new baseband? Curretly cm7 does not.

Yeah i ran official GB for a long time before switching to CM7. I dont mess with custom roms besidides stock CM, no one makes their own roms any more they just take CM and customize i think iv seen one or 2 ROMs that wernt just CM rips and they are not being updated any more its sad but what can you do. I wont switch back to stock because i love the T15 kernel and all the custom options in cm, i forgot how much i missed the black background messenger.
I am currently using Owain's Domination ROM v.77 w/new baseband and bluetooth audio is working just fine. That said, Owain just released v.78 and there are a number of bugs (bluetooth and wi-fi among them). I am sure he will have them addressed in no time with a fix all update but if you decide to go the route of Domination I would choose v.77 which is a really nice ROM for daily use. My battery life using Harsh's kernel is amazing!!
Update: Was working fine. Now my BT sounds like crap.

New CM7 Nightly

I don't have a bluetooth headset on hand, so I cannot test the state of bluetooth calling!
(It's from the 8th, but nobody posted about it, so i figured I would)
Nothing in the change log shows any changes to Bluetooth so I'm gonna assume it's still borked...

agreed at I don't notice a lot in there for us to update it lol... Although this is the longest I've stayed on a rom since my G1 came out and I didn't root it til after 9-12 months lol... been on 7.2 "stable" since release.

I'm on CM7 Nightly #225 and I have no problems with Bluetooth at all. The only problem I have with this ROM is sometimes it takes longer to connect to WiFi.
Other than that, CM7 #225 is flawless.

No idea why..

Everyone with the new baseband with a rom other than v21y has the issue. The inly resolution so far is to downgrade to an earlier baseband, perferably oct 24th or july
Doh, seems I should have read a few more threads on this before doing the upgrade.
Honestly.. everything was work ok.. before I upgraded.. I do think call quality is better on the new BB.. but enough that I want BT gone.. no..
so I need a original upgrade or restore file with an earlier bb on it eh? I will check the dev section.. hopfully there is a thread with it.
Now, I could run the 2.3.4 with the BB and BT works? I could put CWR on it.. so I am still rooted... even run a Faux kernel I guess? I just wont have all the CM settings - correct?
