Your always welcome . Ever need help just pm me . I will try my best to help you . Take care ...!!!
The problem is that the FM section doesn't have a transmitter.
It might be possible to do something with either Bluetooth or peer-peer WiFi.

Hi Supremazy? I am interesting in the same too, did you find the solution?
I have posted this question on quora and got one good answer, but it's not full. If you interesting, you can search it on quora with the phrase "What a good ways to add FM radio support to Android or iOS device without Internet connection?"
Please, share what new information you have found so far.
Thanks yuriy,
I just looked at the link. But it's not exactly what i want.I want make this thing with new software but existing hardware.
I searched the play store i found two app (PTTDroid and Android Intercom) but they are really hard to setup and requires a wifi router.I love routers don't misunderstand.Actually it's good to use router for increasing range.
Other apps requires registration and transmitting sound from internet.
Walkie Talkie - Wifi & Bluetooth By Porchlight iPhone app is what i want.Just launch the app in two iphones/ipads(or more) and talk.

I do not understand why you suppose it is possible to run FM radio on iPhone without Internet WITH NO USE EXTERNAL OR ADDITIONAL HARDWARE? At least you need FM transmitter like iTrip. Other wise, how you are going to connect to FM radio wave?
I don't want to always carry a hardware in my pocket.Because of this i don't like additional fm transmitter idea.

That's the best option you have: Griffin iFM Radio Receiver for iPhone and iPod
Alternatively, it is possible to modefy hardware wich is quite costly, either connect to the FM radio device via bluetuth. Both not attractive as for me.
What you want is not possible technicaly.
I think I found the app what i want. It's name is WiFi Talkie Lite made by remaller. You can find on the store. Program's best feature is you don't need to a wifi router, you turn your phone to wifi ap with tethering. I didn't try the app so I didn't any information about usage.

What's the best app to use to accomplish walkie talkie in a place where there is no Internet access? Don't mind buying a hardware extension like a Griffin fm transmitter.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
It is possible to use your Android phone as a walkie talkie over Bluetooth and also via wifi using ad hoc connection.
The following are the apps which make it possible.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.remaller.android.wifitalkie_lite
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidintercom
Yep i dont think the android fm can emit , its just a reciever...
Thank me if i helped .. ?
A good way
I have an idea but have a problem, it just works in the city and need some money.
You can buy a wifi router and a make a big antenna ,then connect the antenna to the router.
then download a walkie talkie app for your devices and connect them to the wifi router and use the app.
Note : You shouldn't connect router to internet (with phone cable , Dsl cable or other). we just need it's access point.
Sorry for my bad English. I'm from IRAN.

sort of... to give a back ground info, my university uses somesort of software to check if my pc is updated, but because I'm using work pc, the software gives me an error message.... Pocket PC can bypass the software check, so, I'm wondering if there is a cab that allows me to go on internet through ppc so that I don't get the stupid update check.

I think you should share the connection of Internet to the Wifi network interface on your PC, not on your PDA.
Isn't this what you are after???

GPS Photo is a picture with embedded GPS coordinates, so you can see in progs like Google Earth where the picture was taken. Pretty cool feature
About VOIP: Forget the Windows native VOIP and get Fring. It's free and offers everything you will ever need. Just Google for it

Fring is working well in my touch cruise, but I get the audio coming from the back of the phone , as when I use the handsfree feature. Do you know if is there some way to redirect the audio?

unfortunately i can't use fring. i have to use the internal voip because i have to connect to an internal uc-server... isn't there a possibility to activate the standard voip on the tc (orbit 2)?
VOIP in France
I've bought a HTC Cruise to use it on VOIP with the WIFI but I try a lot of software and the result is poor.
I 've a neufbox with neuf talk ability and I prefer WM6 VOIP because it's not necessary to use another keyboard and contact list to phone.
First one I remove the SFR rom and use these rom : "Polaris_WWE_0.54_Full_bepe.rar" in english plus "WM6VoiP.CAB" and "SetupVoiP_v0.3.CAB" result phone connection , numerotation I listen but the other part listen nothing .
If I try to use fring the two part are listening but with a poor sound quality and a 30 seconds maximum duration !!!
I 've try neuf talk mobile : nothing to listen.
I want to know if somebody can used the VOIP in France ?
thanks
I prefer WM6 VoIP as well, Fring was not working at all with my provider sipgate. I could only receive calls from a landline within the first 10 minutes. After that I had to restart Fring to receive calls again. When I phoned people outside the UK Fring disconnected me after 32 seconds. The only disadvantage with WM6 VoIP is that the sound is a bit quiet but I can hear people well using the USB headset.
I got the VoIP running by installing the WM6VoiP.CAB first. Then done a soft reset and installed Sip Config Tool 2.0.1 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303493.

I use Skype from time to time.
It works pretty fine for me and for my interlocutor.
Of course, it's more expensive than the others VOIP providers but results are OK.
@+
I use SIPgate which works well on the TC, using the standard VOIP cabs I found on this forum.
I am using the native WM6VoiP.CAB together with SetupVoiP_v0.3.CAB on the original WWE Rom and having VOIPStunt as a SIP provider.
It seems to work, however the sound quality is rather poor compared to when I use VoipStunt from my laptop, "internet calling" is in searching stat all the time, but still I can use VOIP normally, that is probably a windows bug.
Also when the Wi-Fi is used and the phone turns off its monitor after 1 minute, I lose the connection. Any suggestions how to help it.

I use 3g VideoCall from Telme,works fine !
I use 3g VideoCall from Telme,it works fine except for the video right now (they say they will release a new version in march or april).
You can download it (from the download section) and use it for free (or with an account just like skype)after registering for free as a Free Member from here : http://web2.telme.sg/cedel/index.php?option=mod_joinus
With "Route 60" activated (as a distributor) u can even call for free to 60 countries on fixed phones (from which 6 countries on fixed AND MOBILES for free)
I call then free from mi 3gphone to fixed phones, to 3gphones and also even to computers having the correspondent software from Telme installed (Deskcall NG)

Hi folks, I was wondering if there is a compatible TMC adapter, which works with TomTom 7 and of course with my XDA Diamond.
Anyone an idea?
Thanks in advance
Are you looking for "free TMC" via the inbuilt FM Radio rather than using the traffic subscription service in TomTom 7?

The first thing is a realy nice idea, i never tought of this option
No i tought of an TMC Antenna wihich might be plugged into the USB Port of the Diamond, just like an optional TMC Antenna for usual navigation systems.
Something like that available.
The traffic subscription is no option for me.
Something like this ?? http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/627
It says it's compatible with pocket PCs and "all common navigation programs". You need to buy the adapter so it has a mini-usb socket http://www.cartft.com/carpc/catalog/item/?wm_item_id=93
Would be very interested to know how TMC works using this within TomTom7
Also there is this http://www.amazon.co.uk/TomTom-9V00-101-RDS-TMC-Traffic-Receiver/dp/B0019JDDB4/ref=pd_sbs_ce_3 but I think this might be for the standalone TomTom units??
Problem solved!
I know this is late but this problem was solved as at May 2009.

I know this is an absolute shot in the dark but i just want to give it a try in case someone knows anything about this.
1. I'm wondering whether its actually possible to have 2 bluetooth headsets connected and working to a WM phone at the same time.
2. This would only apply if the answer to the first question is yes. Is there an app that would let audio between the two headsets through, just like an intercom.
What I really want is to pair two bluetooth headsets to my touch dual and have them work as an intercom for when i ride my bike. I know there are other options out there, but I would just like to know if its possible to go this route.
i have the same idea but no solution. I would like to use that on my motocycle
do you have any solution?
Hey guys, no solution for this? I'm interested in either winmo or android intercom apps...
Hi the same for me!!!
Hi guys I´m also interested in this kind of application for driing motorbike with mygirlfriend!!!
I found this one for apple (http://i-apps.fr/application+iphone+imoto+intercom-10461)!
I would like to know if someone is able to build one application like this for our android machine???
Go android, go bikers!!!
I would be interested in this also (Prefer Android.)
In a few days
Hi all,
i will release one that does exactly that in a few days.
When released i'll post the name here if you want.
Best regards
Thaks man!!!
Robelor you are the biker´s god!!!
Hey Robelor when will you release you application?
Greetz!!!
Hi all,
i have reread the question and i realized that my application is not "exactly" for that
What my application will do is to place full duplex calls over bluetooth with two android devices.
The use of bluetooth headsets is only supported on 2.2+ versions.
I hope to release in one or tow weeks
It's exactly what I need...And I know others persons which are looking for this too!!!!
has it been two weeks?
want to try it...
TIA
It is out.
It is a free beta because we still have problems. Most of them when using BT headsets.
It is called:
Android Intercom
Just look for "intercom" at market
Best regards
Just downloaded this! Can't wait to test it out on my Epic 4G!
I tried it but crash on startup on desire HD froyo 2.2....
I have some reports of start crash. It is the native encoder lib. It is only compiled for arm and desire HD is arm. I have tried on desire and it worked.
Sorry I will dig on that.
Regards
I'm not complaining at all!!! It was just to reported you problems to improve it...
Keep going on, I will spread this app to my bikers and android addict friends!!!
I don't understand how it works. pls help
·Pair devices
·Start on both devices
·Select the other device on each device.
*Now both are waiting for connection of the other but none trying to connect
·To start the connection process just say something loud enough so you can see green squares.
*This is because automatic reconnections use to end on phone reboot . And this way it is easier to reconnect when connection is lost
·When connected your voice will be transmitted only if it is louder than the threshold.
Please let me know what you thing of how it works. If you dont like it or whatever.
Regards
Has someone tried it successfully?
All my phone would do is create a hell of a lot of noise. I could hear another android device. Seemed to be stuck in speaker even if I played with the button. Muting was the only way the app was tolerable. Also there is no way to close the program. Close a connection yes, not the software.

I looked many months ago for a stick with FM and found nothing.
But then you'd need an app to go with it.
Haven't checked lately.
How about a device with a mic port? You could output FM from another device into it and play it

I thought the point of using "Android Sticks" was to have everything in one small device.
Yeah, anybody can hook anything to anything, but that's not the goal.
My purpose has been to have a small device that can provide FM radio to all the people with phones or tablets that do not support FM. So the stick would be the 2nd device, and adding a 3rd makes no sense because it could just be connected directly to the phone, for the same 2 device count.
