Sumvision Cyclone Astro+ ICS PAD - Android General

I've ordered one of these, on the understanding that with the ICS update, the device handles as well as things twice its cost, it only costs £80.

Due to arrive today! Impressions to follow tonight.

I got mine yesterday!
Performs accordingly to its spec, i.e this is about 50% quicker on cpu cycles than say a Galaxy Ace, so its not awesome, but its not exactly bad either!
The Mali graphics chipset is that out of a Galaxy S2, meaning the games run better than standard cpu dependant apps!
It's a good system, the cpu could be quicker, but there again I could be paying £200+ more to obtain that, so at £80 the spec here is darn generous!
Worse part is the screen, which once again is excellent for the price point! What can you expect? Pay £300 then yes get a really nice screen at good rez. This is more than adequate, games look sharper than the main interface.
Video playback is perfect, great with supplied software or go and grab mvideo, also works really well on this device!
I recommended you get the Go Launcher Tablet edition, its free and makes for a much smoother desktop experience!
Wifi performance is perfectly acceptable, good range/signal reception equalling my S2 phone.
Best value return on £80 I've ever spent easy!
9.5/10 (based heavily on value)
Video to follow!

Nice review, seems like a decent piece of kit!
Few questions though, does it actually have 1gb ram and is the cpu clocked at 1.2 or 1?
I have read a few other reviews which seem to cinflict with the specs!
Also are u thinking about changing the rom at all?
There is some development for this tab but under different names.
Have a look for :
Momo9 tab (I'm sure i read something about overlocking with this aswell)
Iview 760
Micromax funbook (there's a few roms on xda for this)
They all seem to have the same specs etc
My main aim for this if i get it is for a media player to plug into my tv.
In your opinion would it be suitable?
Cheers for your help!
Veto
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA

It is compatible with a micro usb to hdmi cable for video output, though I have not tried that myself.
I have a Synology nas and I use the apps for that on my phone for streaming, but I do also use iMediashare from my phone to use the wifi to my dlna telly for watching online content, that works a treat.
I think ebuyer has some incorrect stock at one point, I can confirm I received 1.2ghz and 1 gb ram, but I will get round to a video to prove that.
Cheers for info on roms, I new of momo9 but not the others, there are a lot of device with this spec at the moment, though most of the competitors have only 512mb ram and 4gb sd, rather than 1gb and 8gb.
I will look into the roms and let you know what I get upto on this thread! But the 4.0.3 firmware release from Sumvision is actually pretty good!

Regarding screen quality:
I think I saw somewhere in the paperwork that the screen is only 16M colours, versus the standard 32M of TVs Monitors and other high-end displays.
If the firmware wasn't build with this in mind it could be why the interface looks bad. Games on the other hand often don't require a full colour array, have high contrasting visuals, not text based and are more often than not moving which all helps to distract the mind from the lack of available colours... (well that is my opinion at least)
Regarding video playback on TV:
More conveniently there is a mini HDMI port, which I have been using for video output. Supposedly this is capable of 2k output. Well i suppose it could, but without much fluidity...
During my short time with this device, I have played (using MX Player) the 1080p .mov test file which came on the device and a 720p .mkv (h264, DTS) film from a USB flash drive. Both played well.
However the output does have a small quirk. On my main TV all is well, 16:9 1080p 60hz output, but when plugged into my bedroom TV it outputs at 4:3 1080p 60hz. Which requires me to manually set my TV to 16:9, diminishing the video quality slightly by stretching it.
Hopefully this will be fixed in a later firmware update. This might just something unique to my make and model LG M2794DP, but is something you should be aware of.
In general it is fine for movie playback, but if this is the sole purpose for buying the device I would suggest a purpose build media streamer for around the same price.
I hope this helps.
p.s. I would be willing to test different container / codec / resolution combinations on this device if asked, just PM.

Just got one for my daughter and have been playing with it, setting it up, etc. Have to say it's a fantastic device, particularly at a price of £80! I have the original Galaxy Tab and if anything happened to it I'd be happy to replace it with the Astro+.

Have you tried scanning a barcode?
Have you tried the fingerprint reader?
What is the (outside) size of the phone?
yea i tried the fingerprint scanner. worked ok. a bit anoying when you dont really need it. this far i think its an average PDA with a good camera and the sec level on max. its a fat mofo ... size like the tytn II ... but then this one doesnt have a kbd. No gps, though some software was included.
could actually try to give a proper report on this one just for you guys.
Post me what ever you want to know.
ill update on monday.
Me too have one and this is what I have to say :
-The screen is not bright but antiglare and hence looks clear in sunlight
-Works very good with 1GB Internal Movinanad,1GB SD and 2GB SD in respective slots.
-I had issues with Wi Fi, but I guess SK tools optimised registry an now is solved.
-Apps installed, Opera,Battery Status, NetFront 3.3, Resco Suite, Destinator, Skype,HTC Album.Palringo,TCPMP
-Bootloader can be accessed by Power+OK button and it is same as that of Kaiser, may b POF will help later with CID unlocking though mine is CID unlocked
SEDN100 MFG
SPL-0.71.1000
CPLD-6
-Will post some ROM dumping results here tomorrow.
-Hard Reset can b done by preseeing tow soft keys and Soft reset
-What I hv observed is the memory leak is relatively lower than other HTC handsets. After I close the appas with the given task manager, the % of memory gets back to the original figure ..that of 35%, which is nearly same as when device soft resets and boots.
-Of course a ROM is needed, to make finger print scanner work better.

Hi, guys, I'm really interested with P6500.
@sensorama and hdubli
how much you pay for it and where you purchase it? I haven't found it in online stores anywhere.
Spec wise, did anyone know the difference between Sirius and Sedna? Because in the pdadb.net, their specs and design are very identical.
Oh, and, did it have extended battery like they say it would have?
About GPS, it does have onboard GPS according to europe.htc.com. What you mean "there is no GPS"? Not activated, no GPS software?

There you go. Funny stuff. Will check the GPS on monday.
Btw, got it for testing and eval.
Err... what you mean "funny stuff"? The pda?
Anyway, how would you rate it, 1 to 10?
I've been wanting for a new 3.5" or 4" screen PDA Phone. HP iPAQ 211 have 4" display, but it's not PDA Phone. And O2 XDA Flame, well, sone features that I need is missing and I read lots of negative reviews. So, my next logical solution is P6500 Sirius and P6550 Sedna.
If you could provide an in-depth review of P6500, that would be great.

I find it Strange, odd and funny that i didnt notice the GPS. Capish?!
Anywhooo. Ill see what i can do.
GPS works great..tested vito navigator and Destinator 6.11
Does it actually have 256MBs of RAM?!
Holy buttercakes!
This thing is unbelievable! It has everything I ever wanted I think. Does it have an IR port? I was thinking that would be good for a universal remote, but if not no big deal cause one could add that through a sdio slot, right? I would love to test one of these things.....
@sensorama and hdubli
Hi, this is a list of questions that I want to ask you regarding HTC P6500.
1. Maximum video recording resolution and framerate?
For comparison, my HTC P3600 can record video up to 352x288 15fps 384kbps (fps and bitrate info from QuickTime Player).
2. SDHC and high-speed USB 2.0 support?
4. Audio and video playback quality?
For comparison, TyTN II have good audio playback quality and bad video playback performance.
5. Camera and flash quality? Autofocus and Macro mode support?
6. Battery life performance? Overall build quality?
Thanks for the answer.
@cseserv
www.htc.com wrote this:
2D barcode and business card reader applications come from third-party developers and are not pre-installed on the device.
Hi,
Answers to yr questions.I will also try to publish a mini review,
1.Camera has auto focus capabilities so Worldcard Mobile and Quick mark work
2.SDHC support is there, but am not sure USB 2, but the data transfer seems to b faster than kaiser via async and comparable to that with athena
3. Video resolution 320*240 MP4 , fram rate is 5-6,with a facility of autofocus and flash.
4.Battery life is good if not used wi fi and build seems robust
hmm... i guess people in xda-developers not interested enough with the P6500 compared to Touch Slide and Touch Cruise.
@hdubli & sensorama
guys, where's the review you promised?
Dual Charging?
Hi guys,
I have an odd question, but I need an answer, specially from one who knows about electronics behaviour. Ok, here is my case:
I'm in a hurry, have to recharge my device fast. Charging using the charger are more faster than using USB-to-PC cable. But while I'm charging, I also need to access my files. Unfortunately, the device only have 1 USB port. What to do? I bought a HTC Y-Cable that provides me with 2 USB port. Now the question is, if I connect my charger to USB Port #1 and my USB-to-PC cable to USB Port #2, does that mean I'm double charging? And if I am double charging, does that mean the charging duration will be shortened (faster charging)?
105×56×14 мм - ???
Hi guys,
I found HTC P6500 for sale online at mobileplanet.com. They offers 2 version, unlocked and ESP (for US$75 less). Does anybody here know what is ESP version? And what is the difference between ESP and unlocked version?

If i'm wont change OS GER or WWE in RUS, its realy?
Qualcomm Processor owners you are about to become very popular!
Gentlemen i'm not sure if you're aware but your device is using the same Qualcomm processor and chipset as the HTC Polaris (Touch Cruise) and right now the Sedna is the subject of discussion in the Polaris forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359991&page=33 (look to the bottom of the page).
I am a Polaris owner and am one of the many people who were short-changed by HTC when they crippled our devices by not including Qualcomm Graphics drivers for them.
We have been waiting for HTC to give us some drivers but the prospects looked grim until your device was released vastly outperforming our devices, what i'm getting at is we think your device has the drivers that ours lack and some clever boffins on this site are desperate to get their hands on a dumped Sedna ROM to extract the drivers and see if they can be made to work on our devices.
If one of you were willing to provide a dumped ROM i'm sure the Polaris victims would make it worth your while.
And if not i'm sure there are some people over on the Polaris forum are very interested to talk to you, I guess we are your nearest relatives on the HTC family tree.
Come home son we need your Kidneys!
I've heard its got the 3D drivers ca you try playing a video of a resolution > 320*240and greater than 20fps and see if theres any lag?

Thumbs up for 7 inch NVIDIA Tegra 2 Tablet PC

Do you often show off your stuff in front of friends, like a new released iPhone 4S, shiny sports mp3 or an Android OS tablet? Talking of tablets, do you have any idea that what kind of chips these devices use? Apart from Apple 5 used on iPad 2, NVIDIA Tegra 2 super chip is the top one that won the prestigious Computex "Best Choice" award this year.

NVIDIA Tegra 2’s technology is featured on some new high-profile tablets, like Motorola Xoom, T-Mobile G-Slate, and Acer ICONIA Tab A500. All of them are 10 inch large screen tablets. On Geartaker, the first 7” tablet pc that uses NVIDIA Tegra2 T20 is available now. It has all the features and advantages that the updated NVIDIA Tegra2 has. Here is a comparison graph in a performance test.
As you can see on the graph, NVIDIA Tegra2’s CPU performance beats all the other ones, two times faster than the second one AML8726. NVIDIA Tegra 2 upgrades the original CPU to the ARM Cortex A9, which is an out-of-order execution processor that offers 2.5 Dhrystone MIPS to speed up to 1GHz per core. It’s lucky enough to get rid of the low CPUs.
What’s more, the graph also shows good 3D performance. The ULP GeForce GPU gives excellent mobile 3D game playability. The game players can feel visually engaged with the 3D user performance.
The last but not the least, its video decode and power efficiency is thumping its chest about most. The video decode block of Tegra 2 can smoothly decode 1080p H.264 high profile videos. With a NVIDIA Tegra2 tablet pc, any place can be a cinema.
Apart from these, this 7” tablet on Geartaker has its own unique features.
7 inch Capacitive Screen
Most of the NVIDIA Tegra 2 tablets are 10 inch, which are not as portable as 7” ones. With a 7” NVIDIA Tegra 2 tablet pc, you can bring it with you in any of your bag when you are on a bus, on a trip or in a classroom. People buy tablets just for the reasons of portability, the touch screens, and the ease of navigation. So why not choose a 7 inch one instead of larger ones?
Good performance on multiple applications
You can get an exciting gaming experience on this tablet, whatever it is, Plant VS Zombies, Angry Birds, Speed forge 3D. This NVIDIA Tegra 2 tablet also supports cool applications, iReader, Documents to go2.0, Browser, Gallery, Calendar, Gmail and so on, which can help you manage your work and study properly.
Cheap price
This 7” Tegra 2 tablet offered on Geartaker is really cheap, at the price of only $262.2. You can search for other Tegra 2 tablets on the Internet stores and compare the prices. For example, Motorola Xoom tablet on Amazon costs nearly $470. For such a budget, why not just get an iPad2?
You can read detailed information and specifications about this NVIDIA Tegra 2 7” tablet through this link, and see if it is worthy of your thumbs up.
If this site had a "mark as spam" button i'd use it.
but on topic. why the hell would i do this when i can run honeycomb on something i can root and rom for $300? and is, y'know, in English? with actual functionality, and capabilities.
this is just another cheap knockoff tablet, albeit a higher quality knockoff.
you should also know that a lot of people here consider tegra 2s to be crap. not me, but a lot of other people.
so, thumbs down, not up.
Are you advertising for the company? >.>
If so please don't abuse xda for such.
Tegra2 is terrible for HD video decoding

I know you mean that a tablet with the system of android 3.0 will just cost you
$300, but the tab doesn't adopt android 3.0. However i don't think so.
first, Tegra2 tablet as a low-price one, android 3.0 is not a stable system for
these tablets.
second, android 3.0 is more suitable for tablet whose screen is as big as 10 inch
or ever bigger. Convenience is the biggest poit for 7 inch tab.
third, Android 3.0 is just a transitional and trial system, you might as well wait
for android 4.0, a much mature and stable system.
fourth, Tegra2's SOC is not as good as RK2918's in the aspect of HD decoding, but it can still meet the needs of 1080p decoding, just not available in RMVB format.
Anyway, this chip is adopted by large amount of manufacturers, which can of course prove the success of Tegra 2.
Last but not least, you words are quite impolite.

first, i do not copy and paste a bunch of info., it is written by myself.
second, as a fact, it is not certain, cuz ICS has not been released yet, but the hardware of the tablet affords to run ICS.
third, since the android 4 has not been released yet. At PRESENT, such a tablet with such a system is suitable for others. Maybe you do not need such a tablet, but as a newbie, i need such a tablet, i believe many people are just like me, so, i know you r a professor, but pls respect us newbies.
I am just checking my tablet (I am a rookie) and I am completely satisfied with it. Hopefully in a few months I will be able to say if the processor is good for me,or if I need a better one.
That thing looks awesome.

How to Choose an Android Tablet PC Based on Your Needs?

Choosing a suitable Android tablet pc is a huge project. In our last post you’ve learnt how to judge the performance of a tablet from different aspects. But how to choose a tablet that is most suitable to you? There are still several things to take into consideration, for example, budget, purpose, taste and so on. This post will guide you through the process to see which one is your top concern.
Price
It’s universal practice to think about your budget before purchasing anything (except for super rich guys). How much does your budget range from? If it is over $500, go for an iPad2 immediately. But if your budget is limited, like below $100, you still have many choices. Take the Gpad M009B as an example.

Its silver plastic shell and user-friendly interface make people fondle admiringly at first sight. Running on Android 2.2, it works stably after continuous hardware and software debugging. It surpasses either MP4 or MP5 for more applications. Common softwares are pre-installed on the tablet, E-book, office, E-mail, music and video player, Facebook, Internet Browser and so on. Simple games, like Angry Birds and Plants VS Zombies, run smoothly on the tablet. What’s more, thousands of Apps for this Android tablet pc are available to download from Android Market.
Gpad M009B can meet all the fundamental needs of ordinary people. At such a cheap price, it has accomplished its role as a tablet to bring fun to players. It’s also a good choice for tablet beginners who are still unfamiliar with tablet applications. More needs, get advanced tablets in the future.
Screen size
Screen size is also an important factor that depends on your needs. On the one hand, many people choose a small size tablet for its portability. Imagine that you are exposed to a sunny beach and with a portable tablet you can still share your pleasant journey with your friends.
On the other hand, larger size tablet is also popular with large number of android tablet lovers. Z280-R10 10.1 inch Pad is one of the hit tablets. With powerful AML 8726 Cortex-A9 CPU, you can do almost everything you want, playing games, watching movies, surfing the Internet, etc. It’s surely an exciting enjoyment to watch 1080P movies on a 10.1” tablet, different experience on a 7 inch. In addition, it has an up-to-32GB TF card slot, two USB port, and a MINI HDMI port so that you can watch as many movies as you want, whatever the forms are, AVI/MP4/RMVB/FLV.
Entertainment
An Android tablet pc is a qualified and thoughtful companion to kill your time. If you are concerned about the gaming performance of a tablet, you surely need to have a look at this one.
M12 RK2918 Tablet PC. RK2918 1Ghz Cortex A8 CPU, 9.7 inch capacitive screen, and multi-touch gravity sensor, all contribute to exhilarating and overwhelming 3D games experience. The animating and realistic interface make you feel as if you were in the game scene or fairy-tale world.

I guess ur day dreaming, aha, i'm just kidding. But windows 8 tablet is not born yet.
Android can support very well for ARM Processor, windows 8 can also support many processors, including ATOM, but it cannot be judged how the windows 8 support the ARM in the future.
seriously, Android Tablet has failed to convince anyone, even Win7 tablet are popular than Android tablet and Win7 isn't even designed for touch applications, what hope will Android have when Win8 Tablets start to hit the market, not to mention ipads.
Whaaat? Is there somekind of new mp5 player? You were talkin about mp4 and mp5 (gun?!)
Here is a guide:
Non-techie: Samsung Galaxy Tab (Any variant except for the original one)
Techie: Nook Color or Amazon Kindle Fire (Ice Cream ROMs imminent)
Also in need for a laptop: Asus Transformer (or Transformer Prime if you can wait for it)
Galaxy tab is my choice very good surfing and speed processor and battery.
I have an Transformer and it is amazing. Blazingly fast to surf the internet ( 1900 MS on sunspider, that is nearly half of the iPhone 4 speed), has a gorgeous screen and looks good. And now you can find it for as much as 300 bucks, so it is totally worthy your cash.

MHL is Connection the One S to TV over HDMI?
As I posted above, yes our phones will work with a MHL adapter and the one that I got is pretty damn cheap but it does exactly what you expect of it, don't go and waste £70+ on one when you can get a MHL adapter for about £5, which does exactly the same thing essentially. If you looked at my above post with a link to another website and through the the thread that KT linked, you will have seen my mini review of the MHL adapter that I got along with a video demonstrating it :
http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1071937-htc-one-s/page__st__15__p__594848957#entry594848957
MHL adapter arrived yesterday, £7.28 including delivery (£4.58 just for the adapter), which isn't badly priced
Has gone up a tiny bit since I purchased it though:
http://www.expansys.com/expansys-mhl-microusb-to-hdmi-adapter-black-221378/
Couple of photos below, as you can see, we have a HDMI port (I just used my Xbox 360 HDMI cable and it worked fine) and the micro USB port (just use the USB cable that comes with the S) for charging the device at the same time as when you're streaming to the TV at 1080P it can drain the battery pretty quickly especially when watching a 1080P HD film or playing a few games. You can either plug the USB into a socket near by or into one of the TV's USB ports (if available) to charge the mobile. The adapter is very tiny and obviously very light weighted, you could easily carry it around with you in your pocket.

When connected to the TV (Panasonic TX-P42G20B) the video mode of the TV switches to "1080P, 24Hz and 16.9 aspect ratio". I haven't looked at any of the settings on my TV to see if I can increase the refresh rate yet but everything seemed very smooth either way, 1080P films played flawlessly using BS player lite and looked perfect, the games also worked great but looked very jaggy as they are stretched to 1080P, this is down to the apps.
Here is the info. for the film trailers that were played:
And lastly a quick video demonstrating this. Sorry for the quality and jerkiness of this video, it was recorded using a desire on stock 2.2, the UI and actions etc. are smoother than what it looks in the video.
Yes I know my gaming skills are atrocious particularly for Goldeneye It isn't very easy using the on screen controls!
One thing, which should be noted is that the sound is very low! (hence why you can barely hear the audio of the films and games in the video) When watching standard TV, we have the volume bar at about 3/10, where as with the mobile connected and playing content, I had to turn the volume up to about 6/10 just to be able to hear it clearly. Not sure why this is and I don't know if a different, more expensive MHL adapter would be better for sound level......
To sum up; I can't complain about the adapter at all given the price, does what you expect of it and the only downside (which might not even be due to the adapter) is that the volume is very low and has to be turned up a fair bit to compensate for this.

I have to agree with you on this, monoprice is THE place to buy any cable or connector you need online. Their selection and price cannot be beat.

yea idk why but the whole time i was reading about it and all that i was under the assumption we wouldn't have to plug our phones in for it to work cause having to plug a HDMI wire into a box and then a micro from the box to our phones just feels like too much to mirror a phone lol
but i might just get the cheap one just cause it's like 12 bucks lol

Thank you for introducing me to monoprice. Think I've found the right spot to buy all my cables and adaptors for sure
You actually don't have to connect the device to the media link adapter. The purpose of the adapter is to make your tv a dlna device. Kind of like the ps3. The difference is the ps3 and your phone have to be on the same network. With the media link adapter, as long as you have an HTC device capable of doing so, you can wirelessly stream your files through the device to tv. Come on, you didn't really think they would charge $130 for a device that still required you to have a cable running to the tv basically.

to be clear:
there is the MHL micro USB Port. You plug a MHL adapter to your phones USB input.
You have to plugin your powersupply into the MHL adapter. Now you have your phone mirrored to your TV.
the Media Link / HD:
The Media Link (H100) and the Media Link HD (H200) are somekind of WLAN DLNA adapters for your TV. You configure your WLAN settings by using a PC or Mac. (you can also use a instant sync to your phone by pressing the botton on the device)
Now you can make a 3 finger-flic on your device and the screen is mirrored to your TV. I dont know if you can also do this with the older version (H100) but if you are starting a movie or diashow you can switch to Homescreen on your device and use is as usual while streaming media to your TV.
The main difference between H100 and H200 is that the H100 supports 720p and the H200 is good for 1080p. Both devices need a powersupply. Because of its also a DLAN device you can stream media from your PC or Mac to your TV.
i'm searching for an alternative device to the H200 but i dont think there is none which is capable of all the features the H200 brings with.

Budget Android tablets are often of poor quality, don't come with key Google applications and used outdated versions of the operating system. At RMB399 ($69), The Allfine Fine7 Genius is one seriously budget tablet, but it does come with lots of features only seen on much pricier slate.
Key Features
◇190 x 118 x 10.4mm dimension size
◇7 inch 16M-color super IPS display at WSVGA resolution (1024*600 pixels), 169PPI
◇Actions, qual core 1.0GHZ Cortex-A5 processor, GC1000+ GPU, 1GB DDR3 RAM
◇Stock Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
◇8GB of built-in-storage
◇VGA front facing camera
◇Stereo speakers
◇Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
◇HDMI TV-out
◇USB host
◇MicroSD card slot
◇2160p video playback
◇3500mAh Li-Po rechargeable battery
◇$69 Price
Design and Build
The front of the tablet is dominated by a 7 inch IPS display, around which is the relatively wide bezel. As much as I love black, the bezel of the FINE7 Genius does feel just too plasticky cheap. Sitting in the bezel above the screen is a VGA front-facing camera.
The back of the tablet is much more gorgeous, it is pure white and has fine texture. The stereo speakers are also hosted on the back, which can produce sound of very decent volume and quality.
Allfine is has taken the simplistic approach with the FINE7 Genius, only a power/standby button and a volume rocker are hosted on the top edge.
The right edge plays host to all the ports and slots. I don’t quite understand the choice of mini USB port over a Micro USB port, given the price, I’d bet it be for lower cost.
The slate is 10.4mm thick, not really as paper thin as many other more expensive slate, but still isn’t porky at all. 300 gram in weight is really nice for holing the tablet for a long time!
Display
The 7 inch display uses the same IPS screen technology seen in most tablets. It's covered in a scratch resistant glass, which should stand up to some abuse.
With a 1024 x 600 resolution packed into a relatively small display you get a very sharp-looking 169 pixels-per-inch. That's not quite iPad4 levels of detail, but it does make it very hard to see individual pixels. The display is bright too, with vibrant colors. It's a decent little screen, and would even be respectable on a device twice the price; for a budget tablet it’s simply incredible.
Performance
FINE7 Genius packs an Actions ATM7029 chip, paired with 1GB DDR3 RAM. For those who have read my reviews before, you know I have never been a fan of this SoC. But somehow I am okay with its presence here. With relatively lower screen resolution, this slate is much faster than the Ainol NOVO7 Venus.
Also, this slate has enough power to decode 2160P videos of different formats, but that’s more of a future function as the video resources at that resolution are pretty limited. Still, you can find enough 1080P videos to play on the Genius or output them on HDTV via HDMI.
Graphics are looked after with a Vivante GC1000 processor, which is capable of smoothly running all 3D games optimized for the Tegra ULP GeForce GPU.
Connection
The FINE7 Genius’ Wi-Fi reception is average amongst Chinese pads, not very good, but by no means disappointing. Connection is stable during my test, data transmission is decent, a lot better than the CUBE U9GT3.
Battery
The Genius packs a 3,500mAh battery, giving the tablet a 4 hours, 54 minutes run time during my battery rundown test, which loops a 720P video with screen brightness set to 30% and Wi-Fi turned off. Not amazing, but decent enough for a $69 slate.
Wrap-up
If you are looking for a tablet which represents the most cutting-edge technology, FINE7 Genius is not really your best option. However, for anyone who choose to buy this slate, you would get more than what you pay for.
The overall performance of the FINE7 Genius is average, but average is already amazing for such a low-price tablet.
Well i've bought this tablet and i'm waiting for it to arrive, it looks good for it price. Thank You for the review, it was most helpful, good to know that I didn't throw my money to the garbage while looking for a cheap tablet

Fire hazard!
I bought one of these last September. It worked perfectly for exactly two weeks, then one morning I connected it to the charger, and left it for no more than five minutes.
When I looked at it again, there was a white smear on the glass (turned out to be a steam mark inside) and the shell was hot and melting! The thing was dead, of course.
I contacted the Chinese supplier, and tried to get a replacement without sending the dead one back, but no dice: they insisted I return it for repair. So I posted it back to Shenzen. They emailed when it was received, and then again when dispatching it "repaired".
It arrived a few days ago, so more then 4 months had passed. Not my original one, which was warped and melted, but (I think) a refurbished one of the same model.
Naturally, I'm hyper-paranoid about leaving this one charging now. I have no idea if they have a generic battery problem, or mine was a one-off.
I have two Allfine Fine 7 Genius. I flash both of tablet new Rom, but the fault is same. The screens are don't answer. I tried to different rom and more again, but nothing else. The screens not working. Tablets are boots, but I can't do anything. I tried with USB mouse, but I have never worked for OTG function.
I tried to different PAD product tool (1.02 and 1.05 but same)
I have written to the allfine support (since more than a week) but did not answer me until now.
When I looked for in the web I fined more video the same mistake.
Please help. Can anyone suggestion something?

USB mouse works OK on mine with OTG adapter.
Sometimes, when I boot it, the touch screen does not respond. After a hard reboot (pin in "reset" hole) it works again. (Original stock ROM in mine.)
