Unable to stream video from Dropbox. - HTC One S

I am using Leedroid on my US One S. Using EU base. Try to stream an .mp4 video and it says unable to play. I installed VPlayer and still same result. On my HPtouchpad when I select video from drop box it asks which video player to use and then does play video. On my One S after selecting video from drop box it does not ask which video player to use. I tried setting defaults on every video player I have in apps association settings and still no go.
Any ideas?
Edit: found that is I use an AOSP from ,such as AOKPCB, drop box streaming works and prompts which player to use.
I guess issue has to do with Sense syncing.

[Q] Can anyone play all kinds of music files and video files from their Asus Pad?

Seems like some video/music formats can't be played on this pad.
Anyone know a good program to download that will let you play all formats?
and is everyones facebook widget force closing on them? like mine it keeps force closing.
Transformer only opens mkv, mp4, mp3, ogg as far as I know (I don't have the device). To open other formats you need to download apps - look into the apps thread or to Xoom forum for some direction (or search on market for file types you like to open).
for music use power amp. It works.
Rock player works for video, so thats every format covered?
Popular (for music) are also APE and MPC but searching the market reveals many, many apps that play them (and personally I convert all the ape files I get to flac anyway).
And yes, the facebook widget and the application itself "force closes" almost immediately.
I looked for the friend stream widget that I have on my Desire HD rom, but I guess that is part of HTC apps.

vital player ( free ) is also working well for me.
however annoyingly when using MyNet ( dlna ) you cant choose a program to open the video files with so the file just errors with can play this video type
Currently trying to play a 1280x720 -x264- MKV file. Standard player is full of green blocks when trying to run it. Using Rock Player the picture is very clear but it's very jerky like the frame rate is about 5.
Am I doing something wrong? Surely it should play perfect?

[Q] Videos play on device but not on PC?

I have a IRREPLACEABLE video on my phone that plays fine. When I try to play it on my PC or when I transfer it however, all I get is audio.
I've done a reboot. All other videos work fine except this one and 3 others I shot recently. Same situation. On the phone = fine, PC...no bueno.
I have a codec pack installed, it is too large to attach via email, and astro tells me the 3GP was not found...but it's there...and it plays.......HELP!
Try a second pc?
Sounds like a codec issue to me.
this is not a signature I type it in every time it may be sent from my computer or my phone.
Didn't work on another computer either. I copied it to my harddrive, played it with 3 video players, and finally loaded it in video editing software. It saw the video.
I have the K-lite MEGA pack installed though. Weird.
ffdshow > k-lite plugin codecs
http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/
vlc player on windows usually plays whatever i throw at it
Handbrake is free and will convert the 3GP file to a format that is more pc-friendly. HTH

Yeah... I finally got it in my video editing software. As I stated above, I already have the k-lite pack installed. It was weird...wouldn't work on VLC, WMP, or Quicktime...just audio.... gave some weird error.
Even on the phone, these videos won't create a thumbnail in the gallery or astro, but all play just fine. STRANGE!

[Q] Video player requesting WiFi

Aftering rooting with Stock, my video player is requesting that I open WiFi in order to play a movie from my sd card.
Has anyone else had this issue and what was done to correct it?
Thank you in advance
Sounds like you are using the connected media app on your phone instead of the gallery or watch (it maybe videos, im running bamf gingerbread). I just tested mine, and when using the connected media app and selecting videos, I get a prompt asking me to connect to wifi.

Do you mean a connected media like VLC?
No, I believe all sense roms have an app called connected media. Try looking for it in your app drawer.

Roger...Got it. I down loaded MoboPlayer app and now I am using it
excursively as media play (movie player). Do you have any other suggestions for media player apps?
Thank you again!
I use v player. Simple to use and has all the standard screen ratios. Rockplayer lite irritated me with the damn pop up everytime I tried to use it.
Ok, I will play around with V player again. Thank you very much!

[Q] Media player recommendations for HC that can play mkv's

Hello all,
I have finally made the jump into the honeycomb hideout from my rather comfortable gingerbread house (deck's stable evo build). On GB, the qqplayer was/is the perfect media player for most of my needs, plays mkvs, ogm, subtitles. On the newest update on our 7.0+'s, the player installs fine and can play videos that are placed on the internal storage (the program doesn't see the microsd for whatever reason), but the settings cannot not be accessed to change anything. I thought that the bottom status bar was hiding the options, but even with the bottom bar hidden with Honeybar, no options appear. I installed Rockplayer too, but had the same issue on not being able to access any options. At least Rockplayer sees the microsd and can play from it, although it won't find/play the embedded softsubs, like the qqplayer.
So, what media players are people using that work? Or can anyone think of a workaround?
I've been using MX Player, though I just picked one and it worked for 1080p mkv so I didnt bother looking further
found one!!!
I tried MX, it plays files, but didn't support internal subs. I have found a damn near perfect player, "mvideoplayer" version 2.91. Plays 720p mkv's with internal subs no problem.
Also there is Dice Play which let you play additional format regardless of system codecs
Have you tried Mobo?

Allshare Play not streaming video

For some reason I cannot stream video content through Allshare Play. It will stream music and photos from my PC, but no video. It gives me this message, "sorry, the Video cannot be played."
Did I miss some key information about how Allshare Play works?
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
My Galaxy SIII is not rooted. Everything is stock.

I'm new here and virtually unknown, but after 72 views, no one has any advice or recommendations? I hear great things about this place, but this is disappointing.

Either it can't decode the video or if its digital copyleft, it won't stream.

So it has to copyright protected in order to stream?

What format are the videos? File extension, etc. Do they have DRM on any of them? If so, that could be a problem.
Did you install the codec pack that ASP asks you to install during installation?
I've been using it since day one and have only run into a few files it won't play. Mainly flash files. I do believe I've gotten a similiar message on some files if I accessed them via the video menu, but they played fine via the files menu.
Avi. What's DRM? I will give the file menu a try. Thanks for the advice.
Edit: I did download the codec program, don't really know how to use it.
I tried the file path. It just downloaded the video, and that has always worked. I just preferred to stream. At least I know now that the inability to stream avi files is not exclusive to my phone.

DRM = Digital Rights Management. Basically, you get a license installed to play the file. If they have DRM, they won't play to my knowledge. If you downloaded the AVI from a torrent or something, it shouldn't be the case. If you downloaded it from a store, it may be there.
The codecs work automatically and supposedly transcode anything that your phone can't play natively on your computer before streaming to you.
Keep in mind, depending on your home net connection and how good your 4G / 3G reception is at the time, streaming could take a while to buffer and if there is any transcoding needed, it will slow it down as well.
I have FIOS on my home network and my 4G is fine. I sometimes get a delay of up to a minute before the video will start playing due to the size of the file, etc.
I have Fios as well. Just to make sure I understand movies without DRM should play? Because most of the movies on my cpu are from torrent. Most often I try to stream over Wi-Fi, so should I try to stream over 4G?

From the Allshare Play main screen tap the "menu" softkey on the phone then : Settings === Video Quality settings === then make sure to UNcheck "Use mobile optimization" . ENJOY
This worked for me

I generally leave the mobile optimization on,but I'm wondering if the popup play features works for you guys with or without mobile optimization on/off.
I've noticed videos in general play better using Mobo rather than the stock app when streaming from Allshare Play.
allshare videos stream but they keep buffering then ends up closing itself, its starting to really annoy me, Is anyone else havign this problem
