Welcome all SGSII-Skyrocket owners (and anyone else)!
My purpose is to help organize some general info, root methods, kernels, and (constantly updated) ROMs into one thread with links. I do not take credit for ANY work posted in this thread as they should be given to their respective creators (and porters). Also, I am not responsible for any action(s)/damages you take that are from flashing or changing your device from the way you received it when it was purchased. So basically what you do with the information you find here is on YOU!
I hope that ALL questions and requests related to linked content will be posted in the appropriately linked thread(s). Hopefully, we can keep this organized and easy to read and update. Any dates are in a "MM.DD" format and are derived from the most recent date the OP of each thread was updated (in a subtle attempt to continue having devs update their OP any time they update their creations...though our devs seem to be cooler and smarter than the rest IMO ).

(With our Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket gaining more attention and ownership, I expect our current developers...THANK YOU!!!!...to gain some new developers that will add to the growing list of available ROMs. There are other ROMs out there (not many) but I didn't want to post links to other forum sites. Thanks for your input. Where do you think it should be? All the linked threads (besides one) are located within the Development section so imo a compilation (or index if you will) should be in the dev section too and at the top. Also, this isn't the first thread of it's kind. I'm sure you've seen a thread like this in each of the dev forums just to bring some kind of organization to the many roms and dev related convos/discussions.
If there is a better place for it to be then run it by the Moderators and see what they think.
PLEASE try and keep comments in this thread related to making it better, helping me/us keep it updated, and also links to any findings that aren't included

Thank you for starting this. I think this does belong in the Development forum and should be stickied once it gets where it needs to be.
Anywho, my suggestion is to add a section for CWM-flashable modems. There are only a couple of baseband versions out now but I'm sure that as time goes on and more updates/leaks come out that people will want the ability to use the one they want with whatever rom.

Ok I'll take a look for the threads when I get off work and add them ...or you could be a pal and PM me the links so I can add them easily. Thanks for your help and opinion!

I will keep this in the development section. Looks like some useful information pertaining to development. Guides are allowed if they are kept up to date

Should we organize the roms by date updated (most recent placed at top of that section) or should we organize it by ciq/no ciq? I'm currently leaning towards by date but it's a valid question.

Seen these threads made before (i.e. GSII i-9100) and the usual rules of [Dev] section is "If you didn't build it yourself, it doesn't belong in the Dev section." Since this is more a [Ref]erence... then....
but its always up to the moderator.
Either way, this is a useful thread

Lets keep this one here, it will hopefully stop some usual questions and give some answers

Yeah I got u cue, I really wanted to plan ahead for this forum and help out the Mods to keep it structured.
Again, if you see anything I can add to this please post or pm me. Also, maybe a message to some of the devs that haven't posted their roms here might be good idea to encourage them to create a thread here on XDA and show that we're being pretty pro-active on making the most out of our awesome device. Thoughts on that?

I thought the dates after each one would be enough considering the way us programmers are. A dev could revise a rom multiple times in one day, and I go off the date the OP is updated. But, if y'all really want that then um...ok. Anyone else agree with Dan?

Good thing. Maybe you can add links for stock kernel and rom for both Roger and AT&T.

hi Im new user of XDA. i tried to install ardatdat ICS kernel 4.0. after flash the kernel in CWM and reboot, the phone does not switch on. Its hang at opening "Samsung Galaxy R GT-I9103". kindly help me to solve this problem

Have you taken CWM backup before flashing Ardatdat's kernel...
Hope you have flashed it on ICS only..

Hey MJ, I think this can be discussed over ardatdat thread.. @NewbieGalaxyR: buddy you can ask whatever problem is coming to your device due to Devs development. so please ask to Ardatdat thread for kernel.

First of all this issues should be posted to kernel thread there is no need to create whole new topic for just a single issue.
Btw have u wiped data from CWM before flashing ardatdat kernel?
Try to boot in recovery mod if u r unable to boot in recovery than there are chances that its a brick.
If ur phone is booting in recovery mod than DONT RESTORE CWM BACKUP. U are having stock kernel and restoring nand backup is dangerous.
I suggest to donwload official ICS (from sammobile, see dev section for links) and flash it through Odin, than flash CWM and flash ardatdat kernel it will work fine.

There are lot of threads regarding these that how to be new user and not a noob. (like one made by mf in my sig) also we have sticky made by cooleagle regarding where to post. New users should read it first before posting.

This is okay guys. I'm happy with either:
a) a thread in General asking the question; or
b) a post in the respective thread.
In my ideal world, the kernel thread itself would contain nothing but the initial release and changelogs, and be closed after two posts (meaning people could only 'thank' the release, not post their thanks). All other discussion/praise/moaning/bug reports would be in a kernel Q&A thread in here, with one for each kernel/ROM available.
So I don't really mind seeing new topics for questions, so long as they are questions which haven't been answered time-and-time again.
Thanks for the heads-up and diligence though, I appreciate it greatly

You can discuss bugs here but not report coz I don't think FXP Team is monitoring this thread...

Since I'm a new member currently I can't post in the Original Android Development forums, but instead I say it here:
first of all many thanks to Team FXP for bringing us CM10 and for maintaining it. My Xperia J is running like a charm with it and if you could manage to fix these bugs I'll be totally satisfied with it! :good:
Boot image corrupted
Display stays off during an incoming call
Baseband / Carrier information still "Unknown"
Headset / AUX connection via 3.5mm not working, instead directs to speaker
With FXP222 I only had the baseband / carrier issue so this is not a very good update.

I think GSM for E can be fixed by smail patching

All bugs will be listed and/or discussed within the threads. It's best to go ahead and read through them so that you can make an informed decision as to which one will work best for you. There is no such thing as a "best ROM" as everyone's preferences and usage habits are different. Just do some reading and research then pick a few to try out. It's the best way to familiarize yourself with the flashing process anyway.

Please tell me the bugs in JB 4.3 and KK 4.4.* ROMs? If Any
I know not every ROM is perfect, but there are some version specific bugs in ROMs? So is there any such bugs presented in JB or KK version of TAB 2?
Please mind me sharing those bugs as I didnt find those bugs in the bugs list of ROM thread.

1 bugs of roms differ from each other
2 dev mention most common bugs in the thread
3 bugs related to a particular app are not mentioned in a rom's thread cos that is not the headache of the dev
4 the best way to find bugs is to try different roms { in the process you will also know which rom platform suits you best according to need}

Look bro, I know what you are trying to say, I respect every developer for their work.
But you didnt think from my perspective, as you are saying it a useless post.
...
1- I didnt asked ROM specific bugs.
2- But most of the time they say, "If find any bug tell me." "Bugs. same as of other KK roms etc.,
3- I didnt ask app related bugs.
4- I wish i could at the moment. Very much slow on speed. (just wanna be sure)
Well, I had an Xperia x10i, in which I had tried different JB rom, not every ROM is perfect, but each rom has 2 or 3 common bugs, such as no Video recording, no Paranoma etc., And those are only meant for JB version of ROMs.
I was asking the same question for TAB 2.
I hope you understand what am I trying to say.
PLUS, this is Q&A thread so, I am a Noob as for TAB 2 and This is meant for me, I think so.
