REQUEST: HTC Hero Flip clock w/ animation

Ive seen the 1st Hero with real animation on the Home flip clock, I know devs took it of as a memory hogger, Is it me? but I dont recall seeing the home flip clock's animation even when I had all stock apps. I;d like to get it from GSM Hero and use it over here.. if any one can get it please post apk files.
Thanks in advance.
Clock animation and i think certain weather animation too was taken out for us to reduce lag. I dont care though, i'd like to have the animated flip too.
I just want the weather animation lol, that crap is cool on a winmo phone.
i want the weather animations and the clock!!!!

I'm pretty sure nobody has this widget anymore. Sense no longer includes this. I'm pretty sure the only way to get it is to find an early unreleased build of Sense. Haykuro's old builds would work but I was never able to get one from him.

Same here. When installing, it says...
"Clock widget could not be installed on this phone."
i tried installing through package installer, adb push, and i also tried to figure out the differences between the apk's of the one that kendong included in the linked post and the one on our heros. i tried to put some files that looked like handled the flip animation work, but its not working. D:
Got the file.. here it is if anyone else wants to look into it.

It was released - the original pre.2.73 (1.7x) had the flip clock. 2.73 was a "performance" update that removed the flip. Personally, I'm of the opinion that it wasn't the flip per se that caused the lag, just that it was seen to be.
You can find the ROMs here.
Regards,
Dave
i'm thinking that this isn't possible. not sure though.
after messing around with 4 different htcclockwidget.apk s, i've noticed that there's not actually a difference between the one that doesn't flip and the one that does. i think the differences lie in the AndroidManifest.xml, which is doing some sort of weird thing because when i place the old AndroidManifest.xml in the widget we have, Clock doesn't show up under the HTC widget menu to add. i have the feeling its got to do with the version numbers that are stored in the AndroidManifest.xml, but i can't seem to open the file because there's some sort of a syntax error. if i could access it the chances of making it work are probably 1% higher anyways, cause i don't know xml
Justinisyoung, tell me what I would need to change in it. My desktop runs Linux, so I may be able to open it somehow

i'm really not quite sure, which is why i'd like to take a look. but i have an idea that it's the operating system versions, for example, the old clock widget was probably made for 1.73 or whatever the first version was. we have to probably change it so it works with our version... cause apps have to be version consistent.

yeah so do i tbh, even the winmo sense port has the animation.
Android XML files are NOT standard XML files, they're compiled binary. I'll refer to Stericson's post here on why you can't simply edit these.
i don't see how it could be a resource hog when there are other animated clock widgets?
Hopefully they'll have it figured out and fixed in the 2.1 update.

Lockscreen Trouble....

FIrst off! Everyone is simply awesome!!!!! The threads get a bit overwhelming since i cannot watch all day long. I have tried to search and start to find things but this topic just kinda falls off without me finding a fix, if there is one.....
I removed the htclockscreen.apk and the attached image is what i get. is there a way to fix without a wipe and reflash as i have just about everything i want working. I know others have the same problem with this lockscreen which used to work fine in DCv1.0 .. I appreciate everyones hard work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks in advance.

Same thing I did...and I would assume you didn't make a NAND backup...just like me. Only solution you have is to reflash...sucks. Grab titanium backup from the market. It will put most of your stuff back. Only messes up a few widgets for me, and taking the off and putting them back on is easy.
Good luck!

I wonder if the lockscreen layout is setup for a higher resolution device (HVGA) instead of the Hero (QVGA). If that's so, then you could theoretically replace the XML layout files related to the lockscreen from a ROM where the lockscreen is displaying correctly into this ROM.
-Daryel
have you tried pushing HtcLockscreen.apk back to /system/app and rebooting ? or if you go to one of the modded DC roms regawmod (sp?) there are several customizations including the espresso rosie which if they did it correctly should include the espresso lockscreen so you can just flash it and get the stock lockscreen back. as far as how to get the vanilla android lockscreen going I can help with that.

I think I understand wht you are describing ....this lockscreen worked fine on DCv1.0 after removing the htclockscreen.apk and i was wondering if we could remove the correct file from there and port it over to this rom it would be fixed .......but i am just guessing, and would not know where to start
Just trying to not get this post buried....... I hope someone is willing to help see if there is a fix for this lockscreen.....I think I officially diagnosed myself with OCD....LOL
And do really appreciate any help.
Bret
I guess either too much going on....... or no fix........ I know this must be an issue for other people... has anyone got a suggestion or a "It cannot be fixed "
Thanks again for all the hard work and dedication!!!!!!!!!! Please help
Bret
I have yet to use the lockscreen that everyone wants simply because a. I had no idea it existed and b. I have no idea how to get it. if someone figures this out I am all over it lol. Wish i knew how to help.
the stock android lockscreen will not display right on new sprint 2.1 roms this has been stated in many forums already there is no fix
Guys, just use Android Commander. It does all the ADB commands in a GUI. Useful stuff, it is. If you know where to push/pull stuff and know to backup things before you delete them, you should really only need Nandroid to save you from being unable to boot (stuck on HTC screen, not bootloop).

I f you remove the htclockscreen.apk in this rom you will have this lockscreen with the same problem as it seems that it is setup for landscape or widescreen mode...... forgive me if i am wrong but i have a hard time think this cannot be fixed with all the awesome things that are being accomplished.. I will do whatever i can to help!
thanks a bunch!
I'm interested in this as well. I haven't messed with Android too much but I develop for a living. Does anyone know if the stock 2.1 lock screen is controlled at the source code level or via a configuration file such as an xml? If someone could point me in the right direction, I'll see if I could come up with a solution...
I am living with my deformed lock screen untill someone has a fix.. i hate that htc lock screen.

You changed very few things from my theme... A link to it or mentioning my name would be nice... Even the theme's name is similar... :/
I don't want to discourage you from theming but I spent a lot of time making all of those icons.
I updated mine recently too, and will continue to. Check my sig...

I wouldn't mind if you use all of the buttons & status bar background, or just certain icons in the status bar, or just the dialer, etc. using pieces from other themes is how we all get started.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Hi a question...can you give me a link (how tu make custom Icons) and how i change the background in button Menu/ SemcContact or Mediascape?? Look attachment. pleas tell me???
Thanks and greets

thought id try help.. been a while since ive used 2.1 though! lol (this was like the early 2.1 update we first got before all the roms came out)
1) i reckon the menu button background thing is most likely lurking in framework-res.apk in res/drawable-hdpi folder.
2) the background from the launcher is probably in launcher.apk somewhere although i used to use adw launcher so never really looked into that.
3) as for mediascape background it should be in mediascape.apk although im sure theres some background in there maybe from playlist section or something else where theres a separate background file. cant remember in which apk ul find it but i think it was along the lines of the timescape or framework-res apk's!
some help i am lol sorry.. but if ya wanna look at the old work i had and maybe figure something out then feel free to do so. link should be in signature below if needed!
hope it helps!! good luck

[Request] original Tochwiz optimizing for 182dpi [Please Vote]

Hello guys!
Would somebody create a port of the original Galaxy Tab TouchWiz that is optimized for use with 182dpi? I think 8x8 rows would be nice.
Why to Hell original TW?
Because I like the original Launcher very much but as you all know, it does not work well with 182 (or similar) dpi-mode.
What do you think? let me know.
Is anybody able or interested to do this? Because of the view counter I'm thinking there are a few people who want to see a port of this.
I would do it by myself but i'm no programmer and not able to do this.
i can make this happen
but make at least 30 to 50 persons vote for it and i'll make it
Yes kOsh. I know you can do it. You did/do also a awesome job with the TW4. So i hope there are other peopel those whant to have the simple and original "look&feel" of the standart TW from the Tab.
Basicly the Homescreen is just a simple modification of the Stock GB launcher. Maybe it is possible to port it also for other devices.
For me, the point is that the app-drawer and the two "main positions" (next to the app-drawer button) are customizable. But the Launcher have still to be fast as hell like the original, combined with the usability of the 182dpi-mode.
I hope the best!

Someone have finished modify the TW4 to the TAB with 182 and 240 long time ago. You can find in this forum. I can't remeber the name but started with 'M'(really sorry).
He had ported it since MAY 2011.

Oooohhhhh realy? I know that. But i did writhe that i like the original "look&feel" of the tab. I don't like the TW4. So your post was not helpfull.
But it's okey. I burried my hope after kOsh's second post. And it looks like no one else is intressted for a port.
Too bad
Thanks anyway

sorry if i may be off topic, but is there any chance to replace the dial, contacts, logs, groups and favourites with the original gingerbread theme, the one with black background. I am so mad about the actual theme. thanks in advance!
Yea guy, you are off topic but it doesn't matter anymore.
I don't know exactliy what you asking for. Maybe you can load an other dailer (with a darker skin) from the Market.
BtW: i don't remember at a black dailer app on the Gtab. I think it was allways white.
i also need 182dpi original touchwiz
im using korea's galaxy tab (m180s)
tw4 not working on my tab
sorry to my bad english

Anyone seen this HTC ChaCha theme?

Has anyone seen this theme/look on the HTC ChaCha? or more importantly, has anyone got it? The latest ChaCha software update doesn't have this theme (1.57)
Please let me know how we can get it, if you know
cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/ChaCha_3views.jpg
I think it's just an illustration for the advertisement, sadly not a real theme.
Yeah, that did cross my mind :/
Well I've managed to get the grey/transparent status bar anyway, I'll see if there's any way to change the look of the app launcher and personalize button
