[Q] EaglesBlood 4.0.4 Gmail issue - T-Mobile LG G2x

Just installed the 6/01 nightly for EB. Everything seems to work as advertised. I was wondering if anyone had a similar issue with Gmail.
Whenever I send something, it stays in the Outbox marked as "Sending" and never makes it out. I get pushes from incoming mail instantly, and the rest of the mail seems to sync perfectly.
I did not have this with the previous version of the ROM. Anyone else see something similar??
I am about to uninstall/reinstall Gmail. If that works, I will edit... otherwise, assume that it didn't.
TIA
Jason
---- EDIT ----
Turns out, that worked... the only thing was, there is no trace of the original messages that I tried to send. The Outbox was emptied, and everything lost.
Hopefully if someone else has this same issue, they can copy/paste any important mail text before reinstalling gmail.
Cheers!

Gmail Syncing issue?

I just noticed that I hadn't gotten any emails in a while on my N1. So I checked Gmail on my computer and it showed 5 new emails that I hadn't seen. Digging a little deeper, I found that the gmail app on my phone hasn't successfully synced in the last 24 hours and I also can't access any past emails other than those that are already shown in my inbox(it won't load any that aren't already on the phone, gives a "Network Issue" error). What's even more strange is everything else on the phone works perfectly and even the number of new emails is updated in the gmail app, it just won't download the emails themselves. Is anyone else having these problems?
I just checked mine and it is up to date. In fact, I am usually getting a notification of gmail on my N1 before it shows up on gmail web site or indicated by Gtalk.
Hopefully, your issue is temporary and the 'network issue' will go away.
....and fixed. I still have no idea what was going wrong but going into the manage applications settings menu and clearing the data on gmail and gmail storage fixed it. Hopefully this issue doesn't get too widespread, cause no non-tech savvy person would ever be able to figure that out.
Alright, it turns out this is a really big freaking deal(as far as I can test it anyway). Any time I try to attach pictures to an email and send it, it causes this. And there's no way to undo it that I can find other than manually clearing the data in Gmail Storage.
...And from looking at the logcat, It gets a file not found exception when trying to load the attachment. I'm using a fresh picture taken from the camera to test it so this looks like a pretty big bug. I'll poke around a bit more though.
After a bit more testing, this only happens pictures taken from the camera for some reason. Can anyone else confirm that this happens for them too?
Alright, I think I got this(at least partway) figured out. It wasn't all pictures but just a couple specific ones. For some reason, there are some pictures that I took yesterday with my Nexus One that didn't actually get saved anywhere(I'm not sure how it even knows they exist, or where it's finding the image). The image I was trying was one of those, but trying another one that did get saved worked perfectly. So I guess this is less an issue with gmail and more an issue with the camera not always saving pictures correctly. Gmail just completely chokes when you attach a file that doesn't actually exist.
Hmmm...
My gmail hadnt synced for several hours today.
Rebooted..seems ok now.
I did actually send an attachement from a note pad application to myself last night.
No idea what the correlation is if any.
Not sure if anyone has noticed this, but if you are actively logged in to gmail (say, from a desktop) while accessing your gmail on your phone, the results are somewhat wonky and unpredictable.
I've seen this issue on my G1 and it continues on my N1.
I experinced this issue also. The issue seemed to exist across reboots. For some reason I was convinced that the issue had something to do with facebook syncing. I deleted that account and the problem went away. But know that I think about it, I did try emailing a picture that I had just taken right before I noticed the problem(emailed straight from the camera app), and I know that email did not go through. Hmm, definitely sounds like a bug somewhere.

Me too. I noticed same in G1 and now on Nexus while all time logged-in Gmail using Mozilla on desktop while at work. Totally unpredictable many time I see first on desktop and then later (some times way later) on G1 and Nexus.
Jp
I've been having sync issues too. I don't really do much with email, mostly receiving and I find myself having to refresh manually, all the time. It has been about 3-4 days or so. It worked perfectly at first...
Here was my problem: check settings and then the sync menu. It says something & sync. My auto sync was unchecked. Working great now!
Been having sync issues, posting in a thread about it over on the google support boards. Not major to me, just annoying and hope it gets resolved.
Thank you so much for the detailed responses about this Marcus. I thought I had messed up gmail with my theme, but then I read this thread and remembered that I had tried to send a picture through gmail immediantly after taking it, and after clearing data for gmail and gmail storage, it worked again.
So again, thank you, that is one less bug I have to deal with my theme causing.
I've had this issue when trying to email "large" (over 2MB'ish, as a rough guess) files.

Missing Texts in Handcent

Sometimes when I recieve texts the pop-up comes and goes away before I can read it. Then when I open up the application and goto the conversation view, the text I just received isn't there. It's been happening quite frequently now and is getting really annoying. I think mostly happens when I'm already doing something on the phone and I get a text.
I did some Googling and I found that people were reporting this in September with the version of Handcent then, but there wasn't any fix mentioned and I can't seem to find anymore information.
I'm running the latest version of Handcent on Fresh 1.1 with the Gumbo Kernel. Any ideas?
nevermind googled further and found a solution. will see if it work.

I've had this happen, also.. I think the last handcent update said something about fixing this, but It obviously didn't fix the problem...
I had that problem too, but for only one contact for some odd reason. So whenever that person sent a text, it wouldn't show up other than in the pop up box, but once I closed it, hte message was gone. I uninstalled and then reinstalled and haven't had the problem since. It's been a week.

2 Problems (Email + Text), please help!

I recently just upgraded from CM 5.0.8 to CM6 RC1 on my G1. I had to wipe and reflash because I noticed my Google apps were missing and I tried to flash the gapps zip and I got stuck on the Touch Android to Continue screen. So I reflashed CM6 and the Google apps after starting over from scratch with a fresh wipe, but now my email app doesn't work! It worked one time, it let me configure my Yahoo account and I got to my inbox, and then I closed it. I try to go back again and I get the FC message every time now! I've tried clearing the application data, rebooting, removing battery and rebooting, etc, nothing works. Any help with this?
Also, thanks to the new 2.2 system on CM6, there's an annoying grey square next to messages that I've sent in Messaging that's supposed to be my profile picture? I don't use gmail often, so I don't have a profile pic on it, so it's pretty pointless to me. I've googled this, and everyone says to set my phone number in the SIM using an old phone, but I don't just have old phones laying around like that. >_> Also they said after that you sync it to your gmail again or create a "Me" contact in your phone or something and you can setup your picture from there. I think the whole contact photo thing is annoying in general, so isn't there a way to just plain get rid of the grey square or disable contact photos in Messaging altogether?
I'm not sure if this is the right section for this since I didn't exactly see any "Android Hacking Help" forums or anything, but if anyone can help, I appreciate it! Thanks!
Can't anyone help? I solved my messaging problem by just switching to Handcent SMS, but the email problem still persists.

[Q] Gmail notification not working 5-8-2012

So my gmail app stopped notifying me at some point yesterday. I was on CM9 w Trinity, so I tried AOKP, Bugless beast etc, same thing. The emails show up
but I get no visual or audible notification. Nothing in the pull down drawer etc. My iPad is receiving fine. I have erased all Gmail data, even uninstalled and reinstalled same. I can't figure it out. Anyone?
I should also clarify that all sync settings within the app have been toggled, full data wipes, nand-restores have been performed. I have never seen this before. I'm hoping this is a google sync issue on their end. Anyone else having notification issues w Gmail 4.0.5?
**FIXED**
At some point just started working again. Must've been server related

Incoming SMS shows wrong contact

I am having a problem that I had back in 2010 with Android. Is it back? Here is what happens. ContactA sends me a message but it shows in up in Google Messenger as ContactB. I respond to "ContactB" and can carry on a normal conversation. I then SMS ContactA and they respond as ContactA. Anyone else experiencing the same issue? I switched back to Samsung Messenger. Hopefully the issue goes away. I have done some basic Googling on the issue and most cases I find are back from 2010.
I'm also seeing the same issue. If I delete and reinstall messenger it fixes it temporarily but I'm having the issue come up again. Any ideas on a fix?
