Know that we have a kernal source would that mean that Wifi Tether on the AOSP roms will be close to working or is there much more to the issue, I want to go sense free or miui but i use Wifi tether everyday due to not having a permanant internet location and a unlimited data plan
HTC has been pretty restrictive on Kernels. I haven't tested Wifi Tether on AOSP, but I don't think we're too far from getting custom Kernels soon enough

Hi guys,
I am new to the Infuse 4G, my employer just hand me one this morning, this is truly a gorgeous phone. Coming from a fascinate I am somewhat familiar with Samsung. But I can't stand TouchWiz and I am looking for additional functionality like BLN and Voodoo audio.
Being a work phone, I need it to be stable and dependable, so I am looking for a AT&T stock-based ROM that have all the bloat removed, but still retain the media functionality as well as enterprise connectivity (exchange) and do not broke anything. I'm also looking for a Stock-based kernel with BLN, Voodoo, AP tethering, possibly UV/OC capability and maybe FPS caps removed.
ROM ? Kernel ? Recovery ?
Thanks in advance for you guys answer !
Browse the dev section. There aren't too many options for the Infuse, but they're all great. The small selection makes it easier for you to try out everything available for this phone.
Personally, I use Infused v2 (ROM) and Infusion-GB (kernel) as my daily driver. It's very stable, and in my opinion, well worth losing MHL and having iffy H+ speeds (my H+ speeds have never been really fast anyways nor do I have a need for speed that's twice my home connection but with such a low cap). It's based on Roger's Gingerbread and has some bugs, but if you can overlook those criteria, it's a great ROM/kernel combo that does everything you need and more in a package that's simply better than Froyo ROMs.
Just a quick question. Why does Wifi Calling not work on ICS ROMs running on the SGS4G? I understand it's not just a simple port from GB, but I was just wondering what has changed that makes Wifi Calling no longer work.
I think it has to do with the fact that ics and cm7 (also doesn't work for this) are in mtd format

Because there are proprietary things in the kernel that is stopping it from working. Plus the developers working on stuff currently dont feel it is a high priority.
Would you rather have wifi calling or a working ics kernel that allows overclock/undervolt? What about stuff like better battery life?
Ive said this many times you want or need wifi calling there is two options.
1 setup a bounty thread.
or
2 use something like grooveip and forward your cell to your google voice number when you need wifi calling.
erikmm is working on it but I think he hit a roadblock with some of the proprietary stuff samsung does to the kernel.
Also please for the love of android use the search feature. This has been discussed many times in several threads.
Hi guys. My sensation is rooted and I am using the opengarden app to make hotspots. The thing is,it does not work all the time. My phone is rooted but the rom is stock. Is there any rom or fix that makes wifi tethering work all the time?
Most sense roms': in built wifi hotspot function is working. You could try arhd, elegancia, viper etc
ROMs are subjective, what someone else thinks is best may not suit you, so the only way to find the "best" ROM for you is to try them until you're happy.
As the title says, I love the functionality of AOSP type roms, yet my work needs require that I untilitze an encrypted tether. Any current non-TW roms out there that provide that? I know it's a rare commodity, but it's worth a shot. Thanks!
I have no problems using my hotspot with any custom rom i put on my phone. But any stock rom even the modded stock roms stop working after my allotted 5 gb. I have tried the hotspot fixes, changing the tether dun value to 0 and i am still blocked. I am on the 80$ unlimited t-mobile plan on the d850. I have no problems with pdanet tethered with stock. I can even make the laptop a hotspot tethered. Whats the difference and can i implement that mod alone in a stock rom?
I am a newb I admit. No script or code in my my language although I would love to speak Klingon. But it looks pretty clear that I have stumped the pros. Lol No I'm sincerely being a whole lot of not serious. But if I'm in the wrong forum... Maybe I should be in trouble shooting? Anyway I know I'm not the only person frustrated by wanting to use LG stock apps and not being able to use the Hotspot unlimited as done with a custom rom. No worries. I will chase the solution down.
