I just bought a HTC One XL here in Singapore. For the most part, it seems to be similar, or the same as the Telstra version. I need to know if ROMs developed for the AT&T One X are compatible with my One XL. While I know most of the hardware is the same, Snapdragon S4, my version has 32GB of storage while the AT&T version has 16GB. Thanks!
No work, different hardware. Try the One "X" threads.

YES the One XL is the same as the AT&T One X.
As far as compatibility is concerned as long as you don't change your radio you should be fine flashing ROMS from here, just don't flash any RUU's

Thanks! I will read deeper into it. Seems to me like HTC hacking is a little different from Samsung hacking. Still a bit bewildering right now.

Samsung is definitely easier to mod. No doubt.
Once you get the bootloader unlocked and a recovery flashed though it's pretty similar.
Happy reading!

As the thread title suggests, Telus in Canada is also set to release the HTC One X. I am wondering if this will be the exact same one that Rogers offers. The screen shot on their web page shows a black picture.
Does anybody else know any inside information? After a phone release, how long until a carrier branded RUU pops up usually?

i believe we already have 1.91 which is Telus. We have the radio and I believe a system dump. but I haven't seen an ruu.
id say it'll be the same hardware wise. but Telus likes their name on their devices... so it's prolly just branded. (I love how rogers doesn't care... they just make boot animations :-D)

Will this version work with WIND/Mobilicity?

Nah, my desire is compltely unbranded, as is the desire hd, and looking at my local store today, the One S and V. Out of the three Canadian carriers Telus adds the least amount of bloatware too.
Damn, just checked out the specs on the Telus coming soon page and......16gb, I was hoping we would get lucky and land the S4 LTE 32gb version like the Aussies.......Damn again! And yes, the storage issue is indeed a very dead horse, just a quick obeservation not meant to promote discussion or debate. There are many, many other threads for that!

The problem is we don't even have enough developers work on S4. See we only have very less S4 Roms compared to One X and One AT&T(AKA One XL).
The S3 isn't as popular as S4. Although it will ship S3 in all countries outside US now but I see almost NO ONE going to buy it in HK(and all S4 sold here).
I believe the situation won't be better on other places. The One S S3 definitely is a failure. The Asus Padphone and some of China Android phones started to ship with S4 now. HTC told us Qualcomm doesn't has stocks isn't correct.
I don't really think the S3 Variant will become that popular. I know that it is being sold outside of the US now but most people who wanted a One S wanted it for the upgraded processor. I've seen a lot of threads about people who got the ''New'' One S and either returned it for an S4 or--more likely--changed it for another phone. Why pay for an S3 variant when you can get a One XL with the S4 or a One X with the Quad Tegra.
Exactly.
The replacement of S4 variants with S3 variants in markets where the S4 one had been sold will also affect warranty and repair related exchanges, however. I have had my S4 One S replaced by a S3 One S by HTC and am currently disputing with them to get an S4 version back.

Yes, but when did you buy it? Purchasing a S4 One S isn't the problem. The problem is purchasing an S3 One S for the same amount or buying an S4 variant only to have HTC send you a S3 when you need it replaced.
Just want to know if anyone is working on ATT 2.20 firmware root?
I just bought ATT HTC one X and it comes with 2.20 firmware.
Also, what really makes the ROM from the international HTC one X section (Insert coin or Revelation HD) not to work on ATT?
Yes, i understand the 2 phones are of different hardware but how hard it will be to port to ATT HTC one x?

It'll come when it comes
Interesting! Even if it doesn't come directly, we might be able to port it if the DNA gets it - the first working Sense JB ROM for the One XL was ported from the DNA, if I remember correctly.
We have amazing developers working on our device - I have confidence! :good:
That would be cool if it happens.
And remember, we just need one carrier to push it out to one compatible device (One X, EVO LTE, DNA) in order to get a port. Complaining about AT&T is not necessary here.
i would guess people in xda will port it before the official even rolling.
sounds great http://www.androidauthority.com/htc...terfly-to-get-sense-5-in-a-few-months-163296/

I can state with absolute certainty that this is not the case.
In all likelihood, AT&T will never push out a Sense 5 update to the One X. It would hurt sales of their flagship Sense 5 phones.

I'm looking for an Android phone with a good camera and it seems HTC One X fits my budget ($250). I read that HTC One camera develops purple fringes. Is that true for One X too? Please advise if it's still worthy buying HTC One X or if you have other suggestions please let me know.
Are you wanting the HTC One X or the HTC One XL / at&t One X? You're asking in the HTC One XL / at&t One X forum. The camera on this phone is fine, I've never had a problem with it.

It's going to be mostly AT&T HTC One X. That's what I find being sold in Ebay. That said I was assuming that there should not be much difference between the AT&T version and the other versions of One X. I could be wrong.
They look similar but they're entirely different on the inside. But you're in the right place for the at&t version. In my opinion it's the better phone; far superior development if you're looking to unlock/root it, the Qualcomm chip doesn't heat up nearly as much as the chip in the international One X, and if course it's LTE too.
Sent from my Evita
That said, it's an older phone (as phone development cycles go) that's not getting the newest Android, so... you know, as long as you're OK with that.
Just to be clear, it may not be getting the latest Android via an official update but I'm currently running 4.4.2 thanks to our developers. Just saying it won't get the latest version might be a bit misleading.

I'm sure you can find Moto X's around 250 on Craigslist or eBay? There is that Monday Sale (300$) coming up as well.
Outside of that, One X is an okay choice. It would be better if you wait though. We're probably only 2 months from HTC introducing their next phone and that could probably drive HTC One prices to 250.
