file managers - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I'm trying to install an specific app that requires to put the folder in the root of the sd card (no sd card on HTC one X) so I've placed it in the root of the phone's memory drive shown in windows explorer.
It also requires to put the apk file somewhere you can start it from via file explorer.
But all file explorers search SD cards, I can't navigate to this specific location on phone's fixed memory.
help

The phones fixed memory is an ad card. That's the way android looks at it. It will be under sdcard in file explorers like es file explorer, and root explorer, and I'm sure the rest too.

You can do it through adb or root explorer (really any file manager with root permissions).

Hey Rusty4k, the easiest way to put the ringtones on the Android is to connect it to your PC as a Hard Drive. Using Windows Explorer, create a directory called ringtones in the SDCards root directory (example: \Ringtones). Next copy all of your ringtones (I assume they are on your PC) to the directory ringtones on the SD card. If you want seperate ringtones for Notifications and Alarms, follow the same procedure and create root directories call \Notifications and \Alarms.
Hope this helps

directory of files downloaded from the market,(both sd card and phone memory)

Well some of you might be wanting to know where the files download from the market are stored. The needs may be many. You might want to send the files via bluetooth or back them up just in case the phone gets wiped. Here is the directory of the apps downloaded from the market.
Requirements:
1)root access on your mobile device.
2)root explorer installed on the device.
Apps in the the phone memory:
In root explorer, go to data>app. Here you will find all the apps installed on the phone memory which had been downloaded from the market.
Apps on the sd card:
Again in root explorer go to mnt>asec. here all the files installed on the sd card will be in their respective folders by the name of pkg.apk
I hope this helps!!!

[Q] Saving / moving files from SD to internal memory

Wondering if it is possible to move files I currently have saved on an old SD card into the internal memory on the phone temporarily... to then move them off internal memory back to my normal SD card.
I'd like to accomplish this just using my phone and with out using a computer to transfer files, is it possible?
Yes, it is.
How so? Can you please provide further instruction?

Hi !
You can easely do that, providing your device is rooted, with either Root Explorer or ES Explorer... pushing files from SDcard to system.
Cheers !

Make sure you have enough space to accommodate all the files in /sdcard (e.g. df /data). You can use file explorer such as ES File Explorer to copy the files to internal storage. If you have non-rooted phone, you can copy to /data/local/tmp.

Remove stock notification, alarm and ringtone files, and replace them with my own. To me that would be neat.

I can't believe you aren't trolling.
Anyway, get the first SD Card (which you downloaded ROMs on) in, connect the phone to PC in disk drive mode, copy the ROMs onto PC.
Then get the other SD Card in, connect phone to PC in disk drive mode & transfer the ROMs to the SD Card.
I would if I had a pc.

Put the SD with the ROMs in.
Use ES File Explorer to copy to root of the device (One ROM at a time if it's Sense ROMs because they're huge).
Put in the new SD Card & use ES File Explorer to copy it from root to new SD Card.
Repeat for all the other ROMs.
Same thing can be done with Terminal Emulator if you prefer using commands rather than a file explorer.
