kinda of likr the title says i am looking for a rom hat does good on battery and not getting warm
Tried the two revolution roms and made phone warm as did the xboarder rom.
Any ideas which i should try next?
I have the best results with Energy. I have tried every ROM and always come back to Energy.

I am running ARHD v3.6.1 as well and my phone is warm as well...I flashed the Bricked Kernel v1.2 and that has made a difference, but not significantly. I tried clocking back to 1.2Ghz but that has made no difference.
I have been running BK with v3.6.x and not had one reboot, just the warm phone problem.
I'm using energy oct3 version right now but phone is getting warm, but could just b the kernel using bricked v1.2, but when I was on oct2 version everything was amazing, phone never got hot, and battery life was amazing, and this is wwith brightness at 85% all the time, 4g on, and texting consatlly, couple calls and 6 hrs of music. Think I'm going to go back to stock kernel on Oct 3 version n if don't help I will b going back to oct2 version.

Nice will try energy then arhd wasn't a getting that good of battery life. The phone ran great just got warm.
try pyramid3D. its great. im running it right now. good battery life and rarely gets hot
InsertCoin! I'm telling you, this rom is quick, great battery life when you underclock it to 1.2ghz from the default 1.5ghz and it's amazing with the updates it gets, and get's better all the time. Great dev support as well.
if you can be bothered to read through the arhd thread (i know its huge) but theres some stuff about changing thermal config in there mite be useful to you
Faux kernels run really cool on my phone. I apply the thermal patch too but I don't know if it is necessary. You can his kernels on pretty much any rom.

CM7 one
I guess he doesn't have one listed under the Sense thread, but he has a reset file if necessary.

how will i install the thermal patch? im already running faux's beta kernel. do i just wipe cache and flash the patch?
I just flash it after flashing the kernel

Just updated to lastest version.
When I press power off, it reboot instead of shut down.
What should I do?

Re-download it and flash it again.
Do you have any mods installed like LeeDroid Tweaks?

I usually don't install any extra's before the 1st boot but hey if it works it works!
Another problem appears
The temperature remains around 40C(104F), How come?
(using Faux's 002 kernel ) setcpu: 982Mhz

The processor is being overworked for some reason. Also, SetCPU causes problems with Faux's kernel, you really shouldn't use it...that could be part of the problem. Another part is that you are lowering the device's max CPU threshold, which means it takes longer for your phone to carry out simple tasks. For a different CPU controller try No-frills CPU instead.
Yes, SetCPU is for SebastianFM Kernel ... and works very well ...
Try to flash again with SebastianFM option during install, for me work very well with or without SetCPU settings ...

Great! After No-frills is installed, the temp gets back to 30C. However the temp really is higher than stock Kernel. Is it normal?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA
I wouldnt worry too much about that, 30C isnt too hot.. The phone is bound to heat up if you are playing with the CPU speeds. Plus running a custom Kernel, And even a case can keep the heat in..
Providing it doesnt get hot to the touch you should be fine.

My sensation starts to warm up... 40 degree again..
I worry about it because some energy loses to surrounding through heat, thus battery drains much faster.

40 is still normal. But if it worries you too much. Try sebastians 1.30.2 1.512ghz kernel. You can use setcpu to clock it down to like 1ghz or 1.2 and see if it works for you.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using Tapatalk 2 Beta-4
The processor in the Sensation is the same one that is in the Amaze. This processor is designed for 1.512GHz. On the Sensation, HTC underclocked the processor to 1.2. Increasing the clock back to 1.512GHz is not a true over clock, it is restoring what the processor is designed for.
go into power or battery I don't remember... then uncheck fast boot
and use system tuner instead

The only time you should be worried about the device is when it gets between 50-60C/122-140F. Even then it still isn't high enough of a temperature to harm the device.
XE and Sensation uses the same CPU?!! Got it
I flashed a new kernel-Faux123 ~
How to use system tuner? it sounds difficult..
Have you installed it yet? Everything is pretty much self-explanatory. Undervolting also help the cpu run cooler. Mine is undervolted -100mV. Very stable.
Installed
After I adjust the voltage in system turner, then...hand & restart.
1000mV for 1.51GHz, ok?
New problem found!
The fauxclock always gives a error message after adjustment...even underclock.

Bricked, haven't track Anthrax and Faux kernel always seems to have a lower FPS in the UI no matter what rom or version of Android I've tried.
Bricked.
Show always puts out solid stuff!
I'm trying bricked and so far so good

Bricked...find battery life better that overclocked kernel. And sweep2wake is great.
SebastianFM Overclocked kernel v1.4.1
This one is the best for me... 1728Mhz version is stable for me... Battery consumption is great (average use with wifi always on can last up to 2 days.. Using with set-cpu app to limit the higher frequency border sometimes when cpu power is not needed..
Faux. Very responsive, great battery life.
another bricked here. i thought sweep-to-wake was just a gimmick but after using it a little while i'd miss it if i couldn't have it. plus bricked is fast and stable and great battery.
Sebastians for my current rom....
I'm also using SebastianFM 1.4.1 kernel at 1782 mhz. Very stable and smooth. The battery life is fine for me, better than stock.
Don't know about anyone else, but I don't use 'kernals'...
I use 'kernels'
Just saying...
I use Faux123 v004, I tried different kernels and this is for me the best, it don't need setcpu to uc when screen is off and battery drain is so good (since 20h30mn I used 25% with normal utilization)..

Faux. great battery life.
Bricked. best performance and good battery life. Phone doesn't heat up that much anymore unlike when I was using faux. I love the fact that you can set what are the default values you like for the Max/Min/Screenoff and choose also your preferred GPU OC. Very stable and very balanced.
Using v0.61
ShowP also offers great support for the kernel and its users. He is now currently working on Sweep2wake and sweep2lock. It's a great feauture that lets you easily wake and lock the screen just by swiping the softkey.

Why is it that whenever I use a faux kernel my battery temp is at 52.70 fareheit.and when I use a bricked kernel my battery temperature is 77.18 fareheit.I have read and see that a lot of people that run bricked kernels are running battery temperatures of 32-40 fareheit.could it be because I running a bricked kernel on a sense Rom and there using a bricked kernel on a aosp, aokp, nonsense Rom.I don't understand I'm trying to run a bricked kernel at preferably lower temperatures.any help or information on this would be appreciated. Thanks...

Can you please share were did you find the information?
40 Fahrenheit is about 4.5 Celsius and you can have that battery temp when using your phone in a fridge LOL
77 Farenheit is 25 Celsius, which is normal for the battery
Hi I run bricked kernel, i never
Had a problem with overheating, ive also ran faux, tamcore, shebastion, none have ever over heated on me! IM not sure why your having problems overheating? Perhaps its your battery giving you trouble. Maybe look into that because the kernels never caused over heating. Hope this helps! Good luck

I have had other members on her tell me that they run bricked kernels and.I have asked mote than one person what there battery temperatures usually run st and 3 different people told me that they are running bricked kernels and ones batt temp was 34 and another persons was 40 fareheit batt temp because at that time I was running a faux kernel and my batt temp was 52.70 fareheit.I know its not my battery because when I change right back to a faux kernel it goes back down to 52.70 fareheit.when I had Gingerbread 2.3.4 on my phone when I bought it new my battery temp was always 76.81 fareheit so I know my phones alright its not overheating I was just wondering how the heck those other people where getting there phones battery temp down to 34-42 fareheit with bricked kernels that all. Thanks...

I dont know but I do know I'm running bricked now and IM running cool temp. No overheating. However IM underclocked for battery saving. But even when I over clocked for performance it never ran hot on bricked.

What temp is your battery temp?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
i'm using faux and my battery temp always around 10 celsius. and i know that is wrong.
I use faux kernel since v7. The battery temps are between 8º - 19º Celsius in summer and lower in winter. This temperatures are with a sleep mobile, obviusly.
Possible wrong information feom the battery. Just think - you have 25 celsius in your room, yet battery has 4.5 - that's just nonsense.
Sent from my customized HTC Sensation with TTP 2
Faux always shows me temps below room temperature too.
Flash any other kernel and the temp goes up 30 degrees F. So there is some odd error in Faux for reading temp. Great kernels otherwise though!

Don't do gpu over clock then.. That will cool down your device a bit.. Also.. Try some under volting the kernel (there is a uv mod.. You can use that) .. It prevents heating a bit too

You should try that for yourself because not every device can handle every voltage decreasing the voltage makes that there is not so much electricity going trough the CPU you save battery and your battery is not overheating so fast

Mine did too with both stock and ARHD roms. Thought its the battery getting getting warm for the longest time but it turned out to be CPU/GPU. I'm using Viper S now and do not overclock CPU/GPU. Works well and heat is down significantly. Still gets warm occasionally (GPS, Browser, Google Now) but not as much and battery last longer.
I tried Vipers S Rom but everything ran VERY choppy and what govner do you recommend to get that cold GPU/CPu effect?

When you try different ROMs and have query ask in the right ROM forum. You'll have a better chance for a right answer.
There isn't a tremendous amount of things you can do to bring down the temperature significantly. As everyone said, under volting, and under clocking can do a little bit.
It isn't a big problem, because it shouldn't pass, from what I remember, 43-46 degrees Celsius. Of course it will vary with what your doing, playing games will make it hotter, especially if you are in a hot environment.
Don't worry too much about it.
