Play Store - Error Code 942 - HTC Sensation

Hey all!
So I have a Sensation 4G, and before i was rooted, i had an app called Cell Biology Study Guide (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobilereference.cellbiology&hl=en)
I'm taking biology in University and this app was a life saver. When i got rooted, this app was incompatible with my phone... So later on, today, i downloaded LCD Density Modder Pro, which had a new market apk and whatnot.
I was able to go to the link of the app and click download, but it would give me the error code instead.
Any fix? Is there an alternate way to get the app? I would REALLY appreciate it. This app is a simplified, detailed textbook on your phone, i could really use it
Using Ordroid
Thanks!

Try clearing data from download manager (settings-apps-all) and play store, then remove your google account, then go to play store and it will ask you to link your account after that try downloading the app. (That worked for me).

Well it did give me access to some other apps i could not see before haha, but not the one i specifically wanted. Thanks for your help, however!

Hi I'm using Ordroid 8.6.5, just download a couple days ago. Well I noticed what happened at the playstore was for some reason it ERASED my google wallet! This giving me the error when purchasing applications! So it was a easy fix. I went to google wallet you can access your wallet in a drop down menu at check out, and I Re entered my card information. This did the trick, no more error during download! Not sure if it's your error also but I did some searching and I think the code does have something to do with billing. I can't figure out why my information was ERASED but I only know it WAS! Maybe this will help you too ? Check you're google wallet and see if your info is still available. This could be what's happening to you also. Is worth a try . Good luck!

GAPPS Version
According to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1750759 you may be using an incorrect version of GAPPS.
The aforementioned post links to GAPPS downloads but also check your ROM's thread and it may have a custom modified version as well.
I was plagued with 942's and inability to install APKs [that worked before] until I finally found that post.

worked for me too thanks.

This solution didn't work for me. Error 942 still remains in my Google Play Store.. :/

This is an old post...
What's your ROM?? Using sense or not using???

My situation may be a little bit diff cause I was spoofing the market to download a certain app... first I tried the instructions above with no luck. Finally, what I did was cleared Play Store data one more time and uninstalled updates to go back to an older version of Play. Worked like a charm. Then just go back and update your Play.

Hi,
One of 2 things you can try:
Settings>applications>manage applications>all>market>clear cache.
And/or go into recovery and clear cache and dalvik.

Have you tried uninstalling the updates in the market application settings as well?
This happened to me a few weeks ago, I tried everything suggested and finally had to revert to an older backup I had. I never did figure out why it happened or why my backup fixed it, but it was suggested that it had something to do with an error on google's end. I know some have fixed this by creating a new google account.
To resolve issue you need to go to market and download Market Enabler (Green with ME in icon)
Open it. Press and hold on your carrier and say fake it.
Open market. Problem will be solved.

Just a thought. I realized this started for me the same day I added another phone to my account. Of course the other phone is for somebody else with a completely different Google account, but this is the only variable I can think of. Do you happen to be on a family plan or anything like I am now?

If you don't know, then it doesn't really apply to your situation.
For clarity...cyanogenmod and a lot of the other roms aren't really suppose to include g(oogle)apps. These are the apps developed by Google such as maps, Gmail, play store/market, etc. So when you flash a custom rom like cm7 you also download and flash a zip file which installs these on your phone manually. All done through clockworkmod recovery.
I noticed that basically any of the less-popular apps in the play store can download and install without a problem. Only popular things like angry birds space and some of the other random things I tried seem to have this problem.

What my fellow xda user just said! Do a quick Google search for latest gb Google apps. Download file and flash in recovery think latest is 8/28
Only if you running gingerbread base rom
Edit : http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
There you go.. Put on root of sd card and flash. Cwm will do the rest

Well I can say there are A LOT of forums on here regarding this issue - however they date back to over a year ago. I've uninstalled some system apps (My Account for T-Mobile) and other non-essentials. I don't assume that is an issue. But like I said the past couple days it gets that error. One forum suggested removing the Google account then reinstalling, however my phone says it requires a factory reset for this. I've already spent lots of time customizing my ROM... Any other ideas?

[Q] Cyanogenmod 9 Alpha Unable to install/update

I cannot install or update any apps on my phone. I can restore them via titanium, but not through the store. Does anybody have any ideas?
I'm running the release from 29th March 2012 if that helps...
It seems that trying to install the latest gapps has fixed it for now.
But it does keep trying to update Osmos, even though I bought it through the humble bundle instead of the pay store. Any help?
Also, don't know how to edit from the app, hence the double post.

Don't worry about the double post, nothing to worry about here.
You can try to clear the cache from play store, or maybe reinstall it. reboot your phone.
Sometimes it needs a while for the store to recognize all your apps and settings.

[Help] Can not install apps on the Play store.

Hi everyone, my setup as the signature below. This is the first time I got this kind of error.
I can choose an app to download, then it will be downloaded like normal. However when it reached 100%, it stucked at that forever but did not do the installing step.
I tried to clear the market cache, data and even remove the google account then readd. But it still did not work.
Could someone please guide me on this. Thanks very much!
EDIT 1: today I cannot download any apps. It got stuck at the very first step. I did not download any more?!
EDIT 2: I just switched to mobile network and I could download any apps that I want. After that, I connected to wifi network to see whether the issue was solved or not. Unfortunately, I still could not download any apps through wifi
EDIT 3: The last observation from this issue. I use my laptop as a hotspot and so my phone can download any apps normally in the Play store.
To sum up, this bug only occurs with the direct wireless network connection.

APP: Beats Audio

I would just like to share the app Beats Audio to everyone on the HTC Sensation! Now you don't need a custom ROM like ARHD, Darkforest, or MIUI to have Beats Audio, you can use it on any ROM (excluding stock ICS ROM)
Although this app is available on the Google Play Market, it is hard to find Try installing the app from the play market first, but if you cannot find it on the Play Market then follow the directions below.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for your bricked phone, broken sd cards, or anything else. Follow the directions carefully and be cautious of the warnings listed below.
Requirements
1) Have a rooted phone (not necessary to be s-off)
2) Have a backup (titanium backup, Nandroid via recovery mode...etc)
WARNINGS
The Beats Audio PRO app from the market does NOT work on my sensation. Install it at your own risk! Although the free version works pretty much flawlessly on my Sensation, this does not mean that it will work perfectly on your phone. Also, this app does not work on stock ICS ROM! (A huge thanks to rzr86 for testing it out)
Directions
1) Make a backup
2) Download the apk file below (attached to this post)
3) Install the apk file and follow the directions onscreen
Additional Tips
If you don't want the ads i would install the app "Airpush opt out app" from the google play market https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.airpush.opt.out.androidapp
You can uninstall the Airpush opt out app afterwards.

Exactly. MIUI already comes with beats audio, so you will not hear a difference. This app is mainly for people who don't have beats already installed in their custom ROM.
If you can't boot, go to bootloader, enter recovery mode, and use nandroid restore function.

No, the one you linked to is not the right one... rzr86, are you running stock ICS ROM?
Here's a pic of the app on the play store. Somehow I can't find the app on the play store when I search for it...I think they removed the app from the play store...
