[Q] Looking to push wifi configuration to devices.... - General Questions and Answers

Do any of you know if there is a way to send a file to an Android phone which would be wifi configurations for a network?
I am looking for a way to send a file via email to other devices so that when they arrive to a specific location that has wifi they dont have to set it up them selves. This file i would hope could be just clicked on and installed to the device so when they enter the wifi range the devices connects automatically.
I know it is possible for the iPhone just not sure about the Androids.
Thanks in advance.

WM6 Dropping Internet connection

Anyone know how i can tell Windows Mobile to drop all data connections temporarily. We have an where we would like to make sure there are no network connections in progress before we make a call with the modem. At the moment if ActiveSync is up or the user is doing something with the browser we're not able to make the call.
thanks

thanks, we tried that however it didn't drop established connections. It prevented new connections from starting but existing ones were not closed.
What i need is something that will drop the established connections. On the Dash and htc 8525 the "Data Connection" tool lets me do it however i need a way to do it myself from within our app.
I've had some luck with RIL_SetGPRSContextActivated() however the state gets reset after i do it.
i don't know the system force close command for "internet connections" to do it, but it may be possible with mortscript (possibly with mouse click if you have to resort to that)
Thanks Joel.
I'll find it and give it a try. There has to be a way to do this programatically. I honestly think MotoQ [email protected]^% up the tapi implementation on the q.
Makes me want to scream.

[Q] Database integration between WIndows and Android through Wireless Network

Good day, I am new to this forum.
I'd like to ask about the possibility and the general way to do my project.
My project includes an application running on a PC(w/ Windows of course). and an android app wirelessly connected to the PC. Both application should be able to communicate with each other sending and receiving request from each other. I'm particular with database. How can they access the same database located on the PC. Also, can the android access files like pictures from the PC and use it in the app. I'll really appreciate any help becuase this is very crucial for my graduation
I don't know if this is the best place to post this but I'm desperate

[Completed] Bluetooth outbound transfer list view kitkat

Dear friends
My bluetooth outbound transfer list got deleted intentionally.
Just I want to know what all are the file transferred via bluetooth during certain time.
Any other way to do this either via Developer mode or Rooting.
Waiting for your reply
Hi,
I see you've already asked this in your device sections q&a. That's the right place to ask.
Xda Assist is only here to help navigate the site, not support. And you found your way already.
Good luck!

[Completed] [Q] Question about hotspot security

Hi to everyone, this is my first post even if I've often read this beautiful forum. I have a question about hotspot capabilities in CyanogenMod 12 Lollipop (5.0.2). I had my S4(jftlexx) personal WPA protected hotspot (though with a very dummy password) and was sharing connection with my girlfriend, when suddenly looking at the phone I found out two devices where connected. As soon as I was aware I stopped the hotspot and now here's my question: if someone was able to deduct my hotspot password and connected to my personal hotspot, was it able to browse my personal file and eventually steal it?
I'm asking because I have on my phone very sensible data, that should remain on my own. I know that it's not directly possible without a dedicated app installed, like an FTP server (i have superbeam installed even I'm 100% sure its server was not running and sharing nothing), but someone with some knowledge and hacking intentions could be able to do this? thank you, and sorry, I'm a little in panic
We see you have also posted your question here http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/hotspot-security-t3100751
