Hello experts
I start this thread because i need some help, well, i have a rooted HTC Desire (I used unrevoked3)
Some weeks ago, I flash the phone with CM7 (just to prove it) previously I made an bkp with Nandroid, today I come back to Sense, for my surprise I had and update from HTC, I downloaded it, I reboot the phone to install , the installation started, but stop in the middle and a Android logo with an exclamation mark appeared.
I wait about 30 minutes, but the logo continued there, so I push the power button, and appeared the following message
ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted
I tried to applied the UPDATE.ZIP (no idea what is this update) manualy, but didnt work.
I Wiped Cache partition, Wiped Data factory/factory reset, Wipe Delvik Cache, reboot recovery many times, I deleted the update and downloaded again several times, but the message still appear and I can`t update the System.
Some idea to how to fix this problem ?
The zip file is
OTA_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5-2.29.405.2_releasedauhl6jhokc5mdm6.zip
HTC DESIRE
ROM : CMod 7
ClockworkMod v2.5.0.7
Hi everyone,
I tryied to upgrade my system to ICS with this file "Blur_Version.1.272.12.MZ608.Brasil.en.BR.zip" today, everything went ok, I made a wipe data and a wipe cache, and a reboot system. Now my tablet freezes at motorola Logo, I waited for about half hour, and I had no sign of life.
If I try to apply the same upgrade I got this error:
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/multiconfig/ap/7210/build.prop". " a lot of number". "more number")
E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
restoring configuration START..
restoring configuration END..
Installation aborted.
If anyone have a idea, please let me know.
Thanks

Hey..., have you solved the problem?.. I'm in the same situation.
After doing a factory reset, wiping the cache, wiping the davlik cache, formatting /system, then attempting to flash Cyanogenmod 11 (Android 4.4 KitKat), I get the following error message:
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E: Error in /sdcard/cm-11-p500-ver4updated.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I do have the latest version of ClockWorkMod recovery, I have an unlocked bootloader and my device is rooted. I searched all over the internet to find some answers, but with no avail. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated
Here's the link to the ROM I'm trying to install:

Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
Version: 4.2.2
I tried to update to 4.4.4, but first i had to eh...get clockwork 6.1.1.0.
I was able to get it but at the moment i tried to instal kitkat 4.4.2 it gave me the following error:
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E: Error in /sdcard/0/[zip file]
(Status 7)
Installation aborted

I tried with slimkat too but the exact error happened.
The tutorial i followed said i had to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache.
Now every time i start the tab, it goes into clockwork recovery menu.
How can i fix it, and probably install 4.4.4 or 4.4.2?
Hi friends, my samsung Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100), got soft bricked after an official software update. I tried to recover it by doing few processes that i found here on this forum, but none worked for me. Here is the list of procedures i did and their out come. please read them and lem me know what can i do further.
1. Tried to factory reset and clear cache partition and reboot: when i entered the android official recovery (Android system recovery<3e>, KOT49H.N7100XXUFNL1) it shows
E: failed to mount/cache (no such file or directory)
E: Can't mount/cache /last_recovery
E: failed to mount/data (no such file or directory)
E: Can't mount/data /log/recovery _log.txt
E: Can't mount/cache /last_install
etc.... in red scrolling and finallly shows rebbo system /wipe data/factory reset options , even after doing factory reset and or wiping cache partition it still unable to bootup, struck at samsung logo screen.
2. Tried to install custom recovery TWRP.. failed to install, i tried different versions of TWRP specified for my phone , and also with different versions of odin.. still unable to install
3. Tried to flash official rom downloaded from sammobile, via odin, but this also failed.
4. tried to root by CF-Autoroot through odin. but failed again.
Note: My phone was on official ROM and recovery when it was bricked, and was never touched to root or flash anything into it before. and i never activated developer options in my phone and the USB debugging mode is also never activated.
please suggest me how to trouble shoot this now. I am not a techie, i just learned above procedures from forums like this, so please try to give me detailed step by step procedures. thanks.

Greetings and welcome to assist. It sounds like you need to flash a pit file. The easiest way to recover your device is use kies/smart switch emergency firmware recovery. Unfortunately this will wipe all your data but should fix the phone
Good Luck
