I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000. I am enabling USB debugging mode, but it still does not show in adb devices list. However my LG GT540 shows perfectly fine. The tab used to work earlier and I have not changed anything at kernel level.
I am using Fedora 13 and it used to work with the same OS.
If I turn off USB debugging, it does not even give an option to copy files.

Check cables first, then try different USB ports. You may also check installed drivers in device manager.

Your phone is in Tethering (USB Modem) mode. You need to put it back in Zune mode before it will sync with the PC. On the offhand chance that you got it into tethering mode by accident, there are instructions on the forum for how to change between the modes. Note that USB tethering is not the same as the WiFi "Internet Sharing" feature that is built into the OS; I believe that USB tethering uses the Diagnostics app on Samsung phones.
Hi, I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 on my S3, the adb binary is up-to-date.
I'm trying to connect my S3 and my S4 or my S3 and my S Plus together via an OTG cable and usb debugging but it doesnt work.
The device gets listed but as "offline". Usually you get an prompt to accept the RSA key and you're done - that works if I connect any device to my PC - but if I want to connect any 2 devices together I just get an offline device and I have no idea why there is NO prompt at all.
Does anyone have an idea? Is therw any workaround?
Basically I just want to connect 2 devices (target >= 4.2.2) together via an otg host cable and adb.
Cheers

Adb on phone...
Well, I've been trying to get it though...have a SGW with kitkat rom and a SGT3 10.1 LTE on 4.2.2. Understand that the device need RSA auth to get it online. But the thing is, how to get it pop when we connect though phone. Updating the ADB on PC would help. So far, it works on kali linux (Serch for p2p-adb setup on kali linux tutorial [noob-friendly] by Jacker31). If we can get the adb updated on p2padb phone version...it might works.
Hi I rooted my Galaxy Gear 2 using ODIN flashed with R380XXU0BNDDrootfs_root.tar.
I had troubles getting it to detect so I installed Android SDK Manager and only ticked Android SDK Platform-Tools and extras Intel x86 emulator accelerator to install,
Anyway installing Android SDK Manager got my phone detected in ODIN (Gear 2 (08FF)) and I was able to root my phone with ODIN.Now Im going to the next step to run Cyndia Impactor.Well I open Impactor.exe but I get the error no device found.I tried going to usb >driver scan it also says no device found. What am I doing wrong ?
Also , I just installed Wondershare on my pc and also my galaxy s5.I connected the usb cable to the galaxy gear 2 and launch wondershare. It keeps showing the screen please enable usb debugging to continue.I have already enabled usb debugging on my gear.I didnt need to click the build number to activivate the screen on my gears firmware.Just clicked gear info and there is a checkbox right there to enable usb debugging. I really like to run playstore apps on my gear but it seems in stuck atm .
Thanks in advance for any guidance and help !
Phone model H955, Windows 10 x64, following drivers installed: LGUnitedMobileDriver_S51MAN313AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.13.2 (which installed LGE Mobile USB Modem AFAIK)
In download mode phone is recognized as LGE Android MTP Device and there is no adb interface in control panel, also it doesnt install the device and it says CODE 10 (This device cannot start).
When i connect the phone when it's booted (normal mode), it correctly shows my phone's name and adb interface (with usb debugging enabled).
Any idea what is wrong? (and yes im connecting using USB2 port, using original usb cable)
Im about to give up, this is beyond stupid.
Let me add screenshot to show how it looks like, maybe it's supposed to be like this. (?)
same problem here, any fix, only flash tool works even installed the drivers 4.0.4 to test and the same result error code 10 but if the phone is on the, driver works fine the, usb debug is always on
link for 4.0.4 driver

This may be a bit late but did you manage to fix it?
Same issue on my H950 G Flex 2. Been searching for weeks for a driver that works in Download mode.
Greetings.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with a completely broken screen (no display, no touch response).
Android version is 4.2.2.
The phone is working, as pressing the power button lights up the bottom bar.
The phone is rooted, however, USB debugging is disabled. The phone is also pattern locked.
I am aiming to gain remote access to the phone through my PC, ideally mirroring the screen so I can manually backup everything from my phone. In the worst case, backup through ADB is also acceptable.
Initially, I attempted to mirror the screen using:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395
However, it requires ADB, which in turn requires USB debugging to be enabled.
To enable USB debugging, I attempted to modify the build.prop through ADB shell in recovery mode:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335799
However, it is done so using custom recovery (TWRP) which I assume cannot be done in stock recovery (not confirmed, please respond if untrue).
I attempted to edit the build.prop manually:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g4/themes-apps/tool-edit-build-prop-pc-t3312517
But It requires USB debugging to be enabled as well, and I assume it to be true for most such tools.
I also attempted to install a custom recovery (TWRP):
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/
However, out of the 3 installation methods listed, 2 require USB debugging and 1 requires application installation on the phone.
Using a USB OTG mouse to enable USB debugging would be difficult, since display is broken.
Since 4.2+ also shows a prompt to allow access to USB debugging to PCs, I assume I could use this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/bypass-secure-usb-debugging-prompt-t2965462
However, I would need ADB first, which also comes back to USB debugging.
I would prefer not repairing the phone or getting a new screen, the phone is old, i'm trying to change phones.
Data in the phone must be preserved, as much as possible. I am willing to compromise, somewhat.
ADB seems powerful enough that I could achieve my goals if only I could access my phone through it.
Is it possible to enable USB debugging remotely through some other method to allow me to use ADB?
Is it possible to flash a custom rom with an edited build.prop without screen input and while preserving phone data?
Please suggest options.
