Hello,
i just unlocked my htc radar and installed dft custom rom. when i connect to zune it shows that i can restore my phone to previous version (12 March 2012). I wonder if the restore proccess deletes the custom rom and install the original (with data from march 12)?
ZUNE only provides Stock updates.....if you update through ZUNE you will lose the Custom ROM and HSPL :/
You'll be back to the original state...
So if i want the original software and remove hspl i just use Zune to restore my phone to an early state (March 12 in my case)?
Thank you

Sure, but you must install OSPL before .
Great! I don't need to look for some shipped roms.nbh

The stock Focus ROMs are available in the device specific forum. Many have flashed them without issues. You'll be going back to 7004, and then work your way up the update path the nodo. Be sure to stop around 7008 and look into the Chevron Unlock and Prevent Relock, if you want to side load homebrew apps and tinker with the OS a bit. If you wait until you're on nodo (7390) you have to revert back and start again.
Hello all.. I know that maybe this is not the right Topic but i'd like to know if a rom for HTC HD2 can be flashed on my Trophy 7. Because i updated to mango and now my phone is locked.. Also i've lost my backup, because of zune update to 4.8 ... So I'm thinking of downgrading to Nodo.. Any ideas?

no. ROMs are only for one make and model of phone. You can't even swap HTC WP7 ROMs. You will need to use an HTC Trophy 7 ROM. Look in the Trophy Windows Phone 7 Developent forum here on XDA. Ansar has posted tons

So it is possible to flash my Omnia 7 from Mango back to a "normal" ROM?
Why is it then that everybody is so considered to have a backup?
I have flashed my phone approximately 3 times in the last month and getting all data back took approx. 30 minutes.
Cheers

ROM flashing is intrinsically more risky than a backup
The backup process "should" be easier than flashing a ROM
ROM flashing isn't the official method supported by Microsoft
Some handsets simply don't have any ROMs available, i.e. the Dell Venue Pro
Without the backup, some data is lost forever: SMS, internal app data, call history, purchased apps that have been withdrawn from the marketplace, etc...
However, ROM flashing is a viable method of restoring to NODO once the public release is made.

Hi
I just installed Mango 7712 on my Omnia 7 following this tutorial. If I upgrade it to 7720 using the described method will I be able to later install offical updates?
you have to revert to NoDo from your Backup to get the official Mango
So when Mango is officially out I just revert NoDo from backup, install latest version of Zune and I'll receive Mango updates?
What would happen if I would have a backup (I have it, but just want to know if there is any other way to revert)?
Is there any more or less offical release date?
if you lost your bock up you would need to go back to AT&T (or whichever carrier) to flash back to an official ROM to get the official updates I believe
u can flash a new rom alone, i debranded my mozart that way from german t-mobile
More then likely you will be able to find a stock rom for your phone in this forum. I needed one and found it here for my phone. When you find it, you can flash it yourself.
Is there anyway to revert Mozart to pre nodo , straight from Bootloader 5.01
I tried flashing , it shows me Error 226 , Is there anyway out there , Thanks
Even with a v5 SPL, you should be able to flash an official ROM. Make sure it's for exactly your phone though, not for a different hardware revision or slightly different model. The other option is to use a Zune restore point (created when you install an update), if you kept your old restore points. By default they're overwritten with each successive install.
Currently I'm having HTC HD7 with Windows 7.5 (7.10.8107.79) Chevron unlocked (9$) ..
Now i need my device to be interop unlocked. I know there is no other way than reverting back method (Healthcliff)..
So, I'm planning to flash to custom roms like DFT
Now Consider that i've flashed custom rom, (not flashed actually now, just consider! )
My questions are ,
1.How can i revert back to official rom , if i need to claim warranty?
2.Will i be able to update the device through Zune (after flashing custom rom)?
3.How do i connect my device to computer, does zune recognize it ?
1: Flash a stock ROM. There are many of them available for the HD7. This should also restore the OSPL.
2: Some ROMs are updatable directly. Others can receive CAB files but you need to send custom CABs. Others can't be upgraded. Read the details on the ROM you flash; there is a considerable variety.
3: Yes, Zune will recognize and sync with a custom ROM (assuming said ROM isn't completely and horribly broken).
Hi,
Iam new here and not allowed to post in the right forum, so I`ll give it a try here. Hope you dont mind.
I recently flashed my Samsung Omnia 7 with this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1499102 using the new DFT MAGLDR for Samsung Windows Phone devices & the DFT flash tool. Before I flashed the ROM I didn't notice the I was actually still on Mango 7740 (no Updates available for my device) and the ROM I flashed is actually 8107.
Here is the thing: Zune refuses now to restore my backup data I made with this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346030, because the version of the new ROM is higher than the original.
Now the reason i primarily flashed and unlocked ROM is because I wanted to extract the SMS from my device that have a high value to me and I wanted to store them properly. Now my SMS are gone.
I dont now, if this works, but I thought of this:
Can somebody dump me or send me a dumped 7740 ROM for the (preferably unlocked) Omnia 7, so I can restore my backup and get to my SMS again?
Or does anybody have another idea how I could restore my SMS from the Zune backup?
Your help would be highly appreciated. Thx for taking your time to read this.
I hope somebody can help...
