The stock Focus ROMs are available in the device specific forum. Many have flashed them without issues. You'll be going back to 7004, and then work your way up the update path the nodo. Be sure to stop around 7008 and look into the Chevron Unlock and Prevent Relock, if you want to side load homebrew apps and tinker with the OS a bit. If you wait until you're on nodo (7390) you have to revert back and start again.

Hello all.. I know that maybe this is not the right Topic but i'd like to know if a rom for HTC HD2 can be flashed on my Trophy 7. Because i updated to mango and now my phone is locked.. Also i've lost my backup, because of zune update to 4.8 ... So I'm thinking of downgrading to Nodo.. Any ideas?

no. ROMs are only for one make and model of phone. You can't even swap HTC WP7 ROMs. You will need to use an HTC Trophy 7 ROM. Look in the Trophy Windows Phone 7 Developent forum here on XDA. Ansar has posted tons

So it is possible to flash my Omnia 7 from Mango back to a "normal" ROM?
Why is it then that everybody is so considered to have a backup?
I have flashed my phone approximately 3 times in the last month and getting all data back took approx. 30 minutes.

ROM flashing is intrinsically more risky than a backup
The backup process "should" be easier than flashing a ROM
ROM flashing isn't the official method supported by Microsoft
Some handsets simply don't have any ROMs available, i.e. the Dell Venue Pro
Without the backup, some data is lost forever: SMS, internal app data, call history, purchased apps that have been withdrawn from the marketplace, etc...
However, ROM flashing is a viable method of restoring to NODO once the public release is made.

[Q] Mango build 7712 Unlock Question

I am using a HTC HD7 Nodo 7392 unlocked build, If i'm using ansar's method to update my WP7 to 7712 will it remain unlocked?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101344
Still works my way. Just did it to my phone and all my stuff is still there and working. As far as ansars way it probably works its essentially the same thing. But alot more steps.

Left out of that post is the needed update to 4.8 for Zune and Windows phone support tool for the phone to sync with zune after the update and use the backup tool. Whatever zune you have installed will handle the update fine. Its the original mango beta packages found on xda somewhere.
Though I just updated from the other mango beta build I still had to put the custclear.provxml file in the windows directory. Tried without doing that first just to see if it would relock it and it does. Just restored and did the originl way. It would be the same from nodo since the newest beta build replaced the last build in the zune phone update. U could use the files from windowsphonehacker.com which is the easiest actually to set everything up if you dont already have the files for the mango update itself.
What happens when the official mango update is release.....do we have to downgrade our unofficial 7712 build? or restore backup?

is it safe to update the Omnia 7 with mango yet?

I have the omnia 7 and because im impatient, i forced the mango update for my phone. this is because it took ages for them to release the mango update for my phone, i assume its ok for me to reset my phone and update it to the new mango now? my carrier is with orange and because i used the force mango upddate trick i have not received any notice from them saying that the official mango for the omnia 7 is available. so is it safe for me to do so now?

I see no problem there. I did the same thing, then after my carrier released the official update, I flashed back the official, old ROM to my Omnia and then properly updated it over Zune with the official update.
How did you "force" the update? If it was jsut the pull-the-Internet trick, you already have the official bits. If it was anything more drastic, you should use your Zune restore point to roll your phone back to how it was, and then check for official updates. If you don't have a restore point that doesn't inlcude the modifications you made to force the update, you my need to do a hard reset or even flash a stock ROM.

[Q] Samsung Omnia 7 - 7740 ROM Dump

Hi,
Iam new here and not allowed to post in the right forum, so I`ll give it a try here. Hope you dont mind.
I recently flashed my Samsung Omnia 7 with this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1499102 using the new DFT MAGLDR for Samsung Windows Phone devices & the DFT flash tool. Before I flashed the ROM I didn't notice the I was actually still on Mango 7740 (no Updates available for my device) and the ROM I flashed is actually 8107.
Here is the thing: Zune refuses now to restore my backup data I made with this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346030, because the version of the new ROM is higher than the original.
Now the reason i primarily flashed and unlocked ROM is because I wanted to extract the SMS from my device that have a high value to me and I wanted to store them properly. Now my SMS are gone.
I dont now, if this works, but I thought of this:
Can somebody dump me or send me a dumped 7740 ROM for the (preferably unlocked) Omnia 7, so I can restore my backup and get to my SMS again?
Or does anybody have another idea how I could restore my SMS from the Zune backup?
Your help would be highly appreciated. Thx for taking your time to read this.
I hope somebody can help...

[Q] Windows Phone Mango Jailbreak

Hi,
i updated my htc 7 pro to mango a few months ago. Now i wanna install some apps, that i downloaded. To be able to install those, an open phone is need.
Can you tell me, how i can jailbreak it, without downgrading back to nodo or windows phone 7, because i haven't a backup?
You have to do downgrade SPL and install HSPL and customROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19873059
when i've done this, i'm back at windows phone 7.0, is that correct?
Yes, but only on one moment because when you installed HSPL and customROM you have OS Version which has ROM (eg. 8107).
is there any other possibility that doesn't need flashing the rom, because i want to minimalize the risk to crash my phone?
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196183
(for HTC Gold of course)

Thank you, i will try that today!
