I'm trying to add the GB "on" lockscreen animation to my phone. I had it on my CM7 ROM for my old OG Droid and I liked it a lot.
I was able to decompile my framework-res.apk for my Atrix 2 and compare it to the old CM7 ROM for my droid I had lying around which had the screen on animation. Just to see the difference.
I assumed the lockscreen animations would be in the "anim" folder, namely the xml files titled lockscreen exit and lockscreen enter.
However to my surprise the xml docs were identical for both phones. Word for word. Even though the CM7 had the "on" lockscreen animation.
Am I just looking in the wrong folder/area?
Help would be awesome!
Eh maybe you can use this kitchen?
http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
Uh... thanks for the link! But it looks as though you can edit how the lockscreen looks through here, but cannot edit the animation.
If someone just knows the proper xml files, or where the animations are located, I can edit them from there.

Hello,
first of all I love the Desire Rom by Paul. I only want to modify the "taskbar" graphics at the bottom of the display. Do you know in which .apk I will find them?
Do you already knwo where i can find the wallpapers in the rom, f.eg. the blue travel wallpaper?
Thanks and regards
donner
framework-res.apk for the notification bar, and alot of other stuff is in there aswell. Try making a morph to start with, it's alot easier. You can even download someone elses, open all the files and if you have a little bit of computer knowlege teach yourself from there.
wallpaper
and where are the wallpapers? they are not in the framework-res.apk
If you're looking for the graphics on the bottom on sense these are located in a seperate .apk on all the desire roms i've seen that is next to the framework-res.apk normally called something like com.htc.desire or something similar
Isn't it rosie.apk?
Most of HTC's stuff is in rosie.apk
Definitely go for a metamorph theme.
Metamorph allows you to specify only a few PNGs, XMLs etc that will be updated within the targeted apk.
On NON-Desire roms, wallpapers are in the launcher.
So yeah, maybe Rosie.apk
I found some nice transition animations (fly in and fold) over at sdx by Stale bread. I am using it on cm6 rc2 and it looks pretty nice.
There is a metamorph attached that is both styles mashed into one and Gregalous posted a morph for these individually in post 3.

Folding animation

Flying animation

Now THATS some cool stuff
Here's a metamorph. If it gives you an error saying the theme control file is missing just ignore it. It works.
Btw, the fold animations are pretty legit.
Ah just found these, just what I was looking for. Thanks guys
Cool, now if only I didn't constantly get bootloops w/ Calk's rom. =(
In this thread ill show you how to make that notification bar transparent.
1. take the png's ive attached to this post and place them on your SD card in the folder entitled "android themes"
take note of these file names.
2.open ninjamorph select new project
navigate through: system/framework/framework-res.apk. it will then extract all the files.
then navigate through res/drawable-hdpi.
scroll down to "status_bar_background.png" click it and change it out with the "status_bar_background.png" you placed on your SD card that has the exact same file name....then continue to replace the other 6 png's the same way.
If one of the existing png's in your framework does not match the one Ive provided (for example the existing file on your phone ends in " .9 " ) then rename it to match...not all themes are exactly the same.
3. when your done replacing all 7 png's press the blue back button in ninjamorph, select finish project, select the one that says "framework-resapk"
then just keep clicking "yes" ("yes/yes/ok/yes") then ninjamorph will tell you "ALL DONE!" and your phone will automatically reboot.
this will work fine with "launcher 2" and will most likley work with whatever default launcher that came with whatever ROM you mught be using. BUT...
...!!! when using this mod with ADW launcher, launcher pro
or any home replacement app you will need to use a live wallpaper (I use "shake em all" and then just set my own wallpaper) if you want the notification bar to stay transparent. the pulldown will allways be transparent though. (you can also use a live wallpaper called "multiple wallpapers" )

Do you have to root? Stock launchers work? Very nice work.

it does look good.
Will this work with gummyjar 2.5?
Root is required to run ninjamorph. This will work on any ROM. Be sure to put pngs in Android Theme folder (imperative). Works best with stock launchers.
update: tried my LWP again and this time it worked. will update after a few re-boots if it changes back to black, but otherwise it worked this time.
been trying to get this to work but the best I can get is my lock screen to work, but when I unlock to any other home screen or if I go to my app drawer, just a black status bar.
I am running Apex 1.3.1, and additionally have changed out my status bar icons. so not sure if that has anything to do with it, does anyone have any thought on that?
thanks for any thoughts/responses.

ps. a lot of my .png's in framwork-res.apk are 9.png's if that matters, and to get to at least where I am (running and clear status bar in lock screen only) I have replaced those with the new ones. When I finish the project in ninja and reboot, it force closes once, I pull the battery and it reboots. Like I say, after that I reboot after the fc and it loads without an error, but does not give me a full transparent status bar.
thanks again for looking and any help.

I was able to navigate to the folder irregardless of location. Metamorph forces you to use Android Theme folder.
I was able to get this to work but as stated in op you must have a lwp for it to work. I thought this would be acceptable but can't find a lwp that doesn't suck battery, and look decent. I purchased the light grid pro and am ok with it. Shakem up wouldnt display my wallpapers right.
Is there no way to get it to work with a static wallpaper? And in the browser its white. Though it could be transparent and white behind it.
Edit: the browser notification bar is white. Where to change? Is possible?

UPDATED.....
some people brought to my attention that, on other themes, some of the png's end in " .9 " so if you run in to a png on your existing framework that does not match the one ive attched to the OP just rename it to match (usually you will just need to add/remove " .9 ")
so i updated the attached files and added a read me to both zips.
Enjoy!

I'm aware of the "grayish white" when in certain apps....to tell you the truth I havent even tried to fix it. sounds like a good thing to try out right now.
shake em all loads my wallpapers just fine.....hmmm,,,you can try "multiple wallpapers"...and see if you like that..i was thinking about making my own live wallpaper that is just blank as can be and doesnt use up memory/battery..and you bet ill post it up in here if i can ever get that accomplished.

you need to rename the png's i provided to match your " .9 " png's..
if you didnt do this im willing to bet thats why ninjamorph force closed and your having issues....try renaming them and going back through to replace.
btw i updated the attached files in the OP.
there are now 2 versions and i added more png's
if you cant remember wich ones were " .9 " then.....
go into...sdcard/android themes/backup/ and youll see a backup of your framework, you can load this backup and start over if necessary.
This will only work on stock launcher and launcher2 with static wallpaper. It seems others have had success using Zeam launcher as well.
I have launcher pro. I've tried both live wallpapers...no success.
How do I change the notifications text to white? I am using a black/glass status bar background and the text isn't readable (black on black)
Hey,
But can you back up it with out the back up of the rom?
I meant if i want to reverse it - can i reverse only what i have done and not to restore the whole ROM?
so ive attempted to do this exactly as your instructions show something like 6 times... nothing is working for me except the transparent drop down menu. also, ive noticed in my /drawable-hdpi folder, i dont have a status_bar_close_on.png to replace your image with in the first place. im running 2.3.3 and im not running a downloaded rom or anything ( i think?) im still using stock everything as far as theming goes.
help!?!??!?!
Figured I'd take my first stab at Framework mods in the form of Battery Icons!!!
Alright, with all I've been seeing about Honeycomb recently I decided to go with a hexagon shape as the base.
Did some searching, but it seems you cannot make a flashable file to change png's inside a .apk? would love for someone to prove me wrong there. Soo here are the .png files for you to change em yourself.
Lemme know what you think.
Black Notification Bar
White-on-Green
Black-on-White
White Notification Bar
White-on-Black
Radial-White-on-Black
Taking requests for other colors.
Second Set
More Battery Icons
Nice work.
Doh! now I find the 10% increment mod... looks like its time to start over...
Thank you

Hello, im trying to use a gingerbread theme for fission 2.4.3. However, for some reason, the insides of the silence sliders are completely transparent and do not have the dark transparent gray of the other sliders.
I've edited the .png files and tried recompiling the theme many times, but when i get to the lockscreen the slider just doesnt move. I just cant seem to get the 9-patch process right.
In other words, i want to use the attached pngs named edit1 and edit2 in place of the original sliders, which are also attached.
any help is appreciated, thanks!

How are you trying to edit the sliders? Those are .9.png files, they need to be edited different than normal .png files, as .9.png files are stretchable....
I use apkmanger 4.9 for extracting/signing/compiling etc.... if I'm only editing .png files or replacing(not editing) .9.png files, I use Simple Tasks section...
If I'm going to edit .9.png files, I use the Advanced Task sections, as they have to be Decompiled and Compiled... you will see a difference in the .9.png files when you do a regular extract and decompile, it needs those black borders/dots to make them work right... I don't get all fancy with my editing, so I use either gimp or paint.net to edit the .png/.9.png files...
I attached the sliders that you are wanting to use.. give those a try.. since you're only replacing the .9.png and not doing any editing, you should just be able to extract the .apk, and replace the sliders....
Good luck...
