Hello,
first of all I love the Desire Rom by Paul. I only want to modify the "taskbar" graphics at the bottom of the display. Do you know in which .apk I will find them?
Do you already knwo where i can find the wallpapers in the rom, f.eg. the blue travel wallpaper?
Thanks and regards
donner
framework-res.apk for the notification bar, and alot of other stuff is in there aswell. Try making a morph to start with, it's alot easier. You can even download someone elses, open all the files and if you have a little bit of computer knowlege teach yourself from there.
wallpaper
and where are the wallpapers? they are not in the framework-res.apk
If you're looking for the graphics on the bottom on sense these are located in a seperate .apk on all the desire roms i've seen that is next to the framework-res.apk normally called something like com.htc.desire or something similar
Isn't it rosie.apk?
Most of HTC's stuff is in rosie.apk
Definitely go for a metamorph theme.
Metamorph allows you to specify only a few PNGs, XMLs etc that will be updated within the targeted apk.
On NON-Desire roms, wallpapers are in the launcher.
So yeah, maybe Rosie.apk

Im looking to make animated wallpaper for the HD2 but trying to figure out were do I start. I know there has been a few people here making them but the stuff I've seen isn't what im looking to do.
I'm looking for something in the Nexus One range, but without it being LIVE, just animated. While browsing the HD2 animated walls, there is only 3 and they are .png. Animated .pngs. When I load a .png as a animated wallpaper, it doesnt animate, just stays on the first frame. So my question is, what else is the HD2 doing to make the walls animate?
I started having a look at this too..
The pngs aren't animated. They act as the background for the animation wallpaper... the actual animations are run by a scripted manila file (don't ask me which one, I did find a thread with the details of this script but you'll have to search for it) and a bunch of manila files for the pngs.
The scripted file tells the manila pngs how to "animate" i.e which directions they go, sizes, speed etc. You can edit the script to change the "animations" and also change the manila pngs for pngs of your choice.
You'll need to get the scripted file and the relevant manila files from your windows folder on your device. If you do a search for animated wallpapers on the forum there's a few threads telling you which files are needed and how to edit them. CFC editor/M9 Editor etc
hope that helps and best of luck
edit: have a look at this thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6335350#post6335350 or do a search for animated wallpapers in the forum
I've checked out the Buuf theme for iPhone lately and I find it very catchy. I'm sorry because I'm not an iPhone fan and I've only come to know of such theme lately. Can anyone here try to make a complete skin out of Buuf icons and buttons? As if overhauling the Sense UI and replacing all the buttons (ie Sense audio buttons, video buttons, camera etc), sliders (main slider, audio slider, messaging slider etc), clock even miscellaneous tabs (ie settings and everthing within). So... what do you think? *sorry... for being kinda nervous. This is my first request post in Themes and Apps for HD2*
I haven´t seen the Buuf theme for WinMo, but for Android...
However, did you check this great theme here? Not that it is the same, but it somehow seems to have that kind of "design"...

Yeah... I've checked it out. I love these cartoon-ish themes like Buuf and Fallout by StarView. I wish there are more like Super Mario, Zelda and stuff like that. Can anyone tell me which software you need to create a theme for Sense UI? Because I really want to learn to create a theme and pack it into a CAB and share it with everyone.

You can actually make your theme with any graphics software which can save in png format (mainly because of the transparency capability).
Once you´ve done your creative work, you can convert your pictures with m9editor, or CFC GUI, and then use cab maker software to create the installer (there are some free apps).
To make things easier for a start, to learn about manila file namings, resolutions etc., I suggest you take any cab of any theme you like, unpack it (with a program like MSCEInf - CAB Analyzer) and see through all the files with CFC GUI - with all this data, you can jump quickly into theme making.
PPC Geeks have the icons
Popdog54 posted all of Paul Davey's art on PPC Geeks (see link).
All of icons are there. I downloaded them and put them on my HTC HD2 storage card and then used an icon changer to change most of the icons.
forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=77485
the Buuf theme is indeed very catchy and would look really good on HD2.
ajt320 has already posted the link to the icons.
I also found Buuf-esque slider icons, made by 12aon. Check the post 5.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437405
The slider icons were made for TF3D, so they should be modified to use in Sense 2.5
and there is also Way Out There Transparent Slider here http://ppcmods.com/sliders.html
the style is quite similar to Buuf's
Cheers
Stock clear taskbar by Rujelus on first page. If you are themed this will revert lockscreen, notification window etc

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can make a flashable clear/100% transparent taskbar and clear/100% transparent sense bottom bar launcher.
Ideally, the bottom bar launcher would be something like
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=385691&d=1282488980
in burst's plurstaralpha theme, which is transparent but with visible interactive buttons
The taskbar would be similar to riptide's current
http://www.johnwishon.com/themes/riptide9.png
In similar threads i've seen at least half a dozen people ask for these things, so i wouldn't be alone in using these.
Anyone who can help, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I've been wanting JUST a clear taskbar for a while now. I don't want 4 million changes in a theme package, it's always one or two things I want. Wish they'd do a lot more splitting up of the mods so you can pick and choose what all you want.
I really want the clear bottom bar launcher. And the 3d app drawer.
What would it take to get all the devs together to create a Theme Kitchen?
Or maybe just the top 5 devs or something. Because there are some really nice themes out there, and like jlechner says, the ability to pick and choose parts out of themes would be really nice.

Going to try something, my method won't be flashable but it might work...
Kitchen definitely would be nice though.

you can get that stuff using launcher pro. but you want to keep the htc sense also right?
pretty sure konikub made one, as I have flashed it. I dont know if I have the zip but im pretty sure if you searched konikubs posts you will find what you are looking for. Here is his 2.2 theme post, not sure if its in here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=746689
EDIT: I have something called DC-FRESH_AloysiusClearTaskbar-signed, search the forum for it if that is what you are looking for
Here you go, this is completely stock except the two things that you wanted. As far as making a kitchen, I have no clue on that.
RUJELUS22_Clear.zip
How do I remove this? I flashed it and it looks horrible. It's messed up when I swype down to see my notifications. I'm using Fresh 3.1.0.1

Reapply whatever previous theme you had to replace the framework-res package that made these changes i think.
It looks good, and I do appreciate the work you put into this Rujelus, thank you
unfortunately, since I had manup's theming, it reverted my clear lockscreen, clear notification bar, clear calendar widget back to stock and left black bordering around some of the smooth revolution battery, signal etc icons.
I thought framework theming was seperate lines that were added/removed but looks like its more complicated than i thought : /

Like I said this is completely default except the 2 edits. These edits are just pictures inside framework-res and com.htc.resources there is no way that I know of to add something like this to the theme you already using unless you do the edits to the files that you are using right now. When you do an update.zip it will replace the whole file not just the edited parts.
Oh : (
Thank you for your efforts

so what two files did you edit?
if i wanted to port this over to the current rom im using green volume sliders and actual buttons and d/l bars what files would i need to mess with??
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I'm no themer, but I believe most (if not all) the files you would need would be in the /res/drawable folder within the framework-res.apk.
I have only done minor tweeks like this, but should be a good starting point.
Any seasoned vets wish to chime in?
Actually I think the slider color is an XML edit. Decompile the framework apk and look in the layout folder
any idea what its called i found the actual buttons in the HDPI folder
not sure what you are asking but if you are asking for all the pieces, here ya go:
BACKROUND
popup_menu, they are png's in framework and com.htc
SLIDER BUTTONS
in framework as png's (you found those already)
PROGRESS BARS
xml edit in framework, i believe it is progress_horizontal.xml
the edits there are for color as well as you are going to have to edit it so that the line is a lot thinner.
BOTTOM BUTTONS
also in framework and com.htc as general buttons.
bammmmmmmmm
I was wondering if it was safe to remove fusion.apk and replace it with a different lockscreen. Or do all lockscreens require fusion.apk, and that apps like widget locker use fusion.apk as a base? Not sure if I am making sense here.
Link: Custom Sense Lockring on the MT4GS - easy step-by-step.
Take a few minutes to browse through this guide I wrote on changing the lockring - it might help shed some light on the question you are asking.
The HtcLockScreen.apk file holds all the icons and lockring graphics that show up on the lockscreen.
Some of them might be affected by graphics in com.htc.resources.apk located in /system/framework, and framework-res.apk also located in /system/framework has some lockscreen graphics as well.
Fusion.apk for our device, our version of sense, handles all the stock widget graphics, base homescreen overlays and stuff of that nature - our version of sense is made a bit different then what people are used to and fusion.apk takes on a slightly different role for us.
You have to use the mode10 editor to get at any of the graphics contained in fusion.apk
Fusion.apk is a very delicate file, and one easily broken by editing - so even if you do everything right it can still turn out wrong. Gotta be cautious and patient with it.
Hope this helps steer you in the right direction.
