[Q] Help with flashing roms? - T-Mobile LG G2x

I recently rooted my T-Mobile G2x and was wondering how to flash a Rom without the use of my computer unless 100% necessary, i have titanium backup and Rom manager, i tried flashing one directly from there but it got stuck in recovery. I took out the battery and everything is normal, what i think the problem is, is my SD card its a 4GB but it only has about 300MD left. Can anyone help?
-Thanks so much

You need to Nvflash ClockworldMod recovery on your phone. Then when you have it. You put a ROM which you want to try on your SD card or internal memory as you don't have much space in your SD card.
Clear Factory/Data
Cache
DAlvik Cache
format system
Flash your new Rom
Flash Gapps (google apps)
Enjoy.

does anyone have the link for the gapps? i go to http://goo.im/gapps/ but i cant download then for some reason

Could search Google, can't really give you a link without knowing what version of android you're flashing

[Q] My cm7 screen keeps reloading.

Downloaded Rom from cm7 and at load screen it just keeps replaying over and over again. Tried to download Cm7 zip file on my sd card and when I put it back into my phone it didn't do anything. Any suggestions from you brains of xda?
Did you follow the instructions when flashing the rom such as wiping dalvic cache and data prior to flashing the rom.

You need to download google apps as well my phone did this when trying to flash. Download gapps (located on this thread) and put that on your sd. Reboot into recovery and do wipe of cache and data before installing gapps first and cm7 again. This happened to me as well and as soon as gapps was on there everything worked fine. Good luck!

[Q] First time flashing NS i9023 (serious flasher from SGS,SGS2)

Hey!
First let me say that I know all about flashing SGS and SGS2. Im a proud owner of SGS1 from day 1.
Last week I decided to finally flash my brothers i9023 so I flashed stock 4.0.3 with stock recovery. Then we wanted to flash some XDA stuff and I don't understand these guides...
I found one guide where you get superuser access with one click and usb cable, I did that, then I flashed CWM through Rom manager and flashed 4.0.4 from evilisto (v1.1) and it worked. Now I'm trying to flash some others, like nuhetri reloaded or pixel rom and I'm always getting stuck at boot animation. It just keeps "working" and nothing happens for 5+ minutes.
What am I doing wrong? Please help!
Best Regards
Luka
(in general)in recovery wipe data factory reset, format cache, davlik cache, system, boot. then flash new rom.
with nuhetri i think there is a bug where your not supposed to wipe data coming from another rom only davlik cache and cache then flash nuhetri

Hey and thanks for such quick reply!
I did all these now, rebooted to recovery (from CWM) and flashed this Fully Touched:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411734
Its stuck at boot image for 5 minutes now.
What now?
your using updated version of cwm? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22044793&postcount=82
steps
put rom on sd card
reboot into cwm recovery
wipe data, cache, davlik cahe, and format system and boot
install zip from sd card
choose rom you put on sd card
should say install from sd complete or something like that
reboot system now
let it boot into new rom (should not take more than 3-5 min)
edit: just seen this post in the rom thread your trying to flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23255456&postcount=389 try redownloading again

I did all that before... Im going to redownload, maybe its corrupted but I doubt it. Is it maybe because I have locked bootloader or something? Beacause I didnt use that long guide with "android SDK" in General, but some other very quick guide. Just plug USB, enable debugging and run some script and thats it.

do yourself a favor, do it the right way the first time and save yourself headaches in the future. its not hard. fastboot oem unlock(bootloader), flash a custom recovery, flash a custom rom(and gapps) via the recovery, then boot up. thats it.
If you are more of a visual type of guy I suggest going on YouTube and search "zedomax". He has some really simple videos on how to root your nexus s, he has a couple videos on how to root but make sure its for a GSM nexus.
Simms got all in a simply way.
Unlock boot loader
Install or flash cwm
install the new stuff from SD card
reboot
Can anyone tell me or please provide a link to what unlocking bootloader does please.
Best Regards
Excuse my ignorance, I'm pretty new to this and I might not be of any help at all... but is it even possible to flash a custom recovery without unlocking the bootloader on the Nexus S?
I followed the instructions found on the NexusShacks.com website (How to root Nexus S or Nexus S 4G on ICS or Gingerbread) without any issues at all (sorry, can't post links due to low postcount :/)
No problems for me, I had zero experience with this sort of stuff but I have flashed a new ROM a every few days now without any issues whatsoever.

Rooted and Flashed no USB now what?

Hey guys....I hope someone can help me out here....I'm rooted and flashed to CM7...absolutely love it....but down the road I might want to flash other roms or kernals but since my USB isn't working how do I go about doing that?
I do have a micro SD card reader that I've used to upload pics etc...can I realistically throw the zip file onto the SD card through the card reader and then put it on my phone and flash it there?
I only ask because I thought it is probably smart to revert to stock if you re-flash and since I can't go back to stock I don't want to screw this up....
Thanks in advance.

No need to go back to stock just follow these steps for every flash..
1) enter cwm recovery
2) wipe data/factory reset
3) wipe cache
4) wipe dalvic cache
5) flash rom of choice
6) reboot and enjoy
Unless other wise noted those are the flashing instructions for virtually every rom, although every once in a while its good to go all the way back to stock...

Nandroid Question and SD Card Question

Question - Haven't found a clear answer
I'm new to flashing and because of this, I'm constantly flashing Roms over the past couple weeks messing around.
I've determined Viper to be my daily driver so far, but I'd really like to be able to just flash a backup on rather than reinstalling everything and reconfiguring it the way I like.
1) If I do a backup with Clockwordmod on my current system, then say, Flash Baked on my phone, do I need to flash the boot.img back on the phone from Viper (I use Flash GUI) before I flash the Nandroid of Viper back on my phone? Or does the backup (nandroid) do this?
2) If I format my SD Card parition, will I lose anything like my CWM installation? (or the ability to flash)
Sorry guys, this would help me a lot.
Thanks

For a start dump CWM and get TWRP. Any backup you do will need you flash the boot.img that goes with it and ya do it the way you said. No need format the sd card.

Question 1 is answered and is what I thought but wanted to be sure!
Question 2:
Just to be more clear, I bought the phone 2nd handed (it was mint) but the SD portion is full of folders, pics, etc that the previous owner had. Rather than going through everything and deleting, I was wondering if simply formating the SD partition would hurt anything or cause anything to be reinstalled for flashing?
I've had 0 problems with CWM with flashing 8-9 Roms so far. Is there any particular reason for switching?
Thanks for the reply, Learning lots of good info.

Flashing is fine but you can't mount sd as mass storage and have you ever tried turning your phone off? The way I clean the sd is to do it before flashing a new rom and I don't format it but just delete everything there.

I've got it figured out.
Since you brought the topic up, one last question.
I got CWM installed before coming to XDA and have noticed most recommend TWRP here.
Is it simply because its touch based? Or is there anything in particular that it does better? I've had no issues at all with CWM and don't mind using the volume rocker/power button.

Its got bugs like not being able to turn your phone off and if you mess up somewhere it will bootloop to the recovery and can mount sd as mass storage. Ya it does have touch but you can get touch version of CMW too.

[Q] Soft brick help!

Hey, I use a GT-n8010 tablet, and I wanted to flash the HyperDrive ROM. So I went ahead, and did all the necessary things only to find that AROMA installer froze every single time, trust me when I say I tried over 10 times. So then I tried to mount my internal SD to try out another ROM, only to find that CWM doesn't mount my internal SD to my PC. Then, I tried copying it over to an external SD and then chucking it into my tablet, but CWM is not able to read my external SD card. I had wiped all my data and cache and dalvik cache. But then accidentally, I formatted my internal SD as well, so I don't have the ROM file on it.
Now, I tried to flash TWRP using download mode, but then it says USB debugging has not been enabled. I'm not able to go back to my stock ROM since I wiped all my data, I'm not able to flash back my nandroid since it's in my computer and I can't transfer it over to my tablet. I can't flash a new ROM since none of the SD cards are mountable.
Some help would greatly be appreciated! Please help out a noob here, I don't have any idea as to what I should do next.
Thank you so much
No one? Someone please help me out! I'm completely lost!

I did do that, but for some reason, it's stuck in the Samsung logo. And I tried resetting from stock recovery, but still got the same result.
I think you should flash stock with odin or flash a different recovery. I think it is called high on android.
