So that's a no?

I'm not sure if you can or not (Need to get mine working again XD) but pressing the "x" doesn't remove the notification?

Theres no "x"

Lets you be reminded that the SD card is there and working ... ;-) .(pun intended) in the prime the micro SD slot was so flush that it would just spring out when you accidentally touched it and fly across the room ...Asus did some minor changes with the shape of the back panel of tf300 after the issues with prime.

I too was hoping there was a way to hide the SD card notification icon.

Any luck on this? Very annoying. Or is there way to make the shortcut open different file browser? Thanks. Guess this is a bump

Please, I have the same problem, it is very frustrating, I do not know why is this information in notifications
OT: Does anybody know if there is possibility to change the web browser what is opened with key on dock keyboard - the browser button??
Thank you

I know this sounds obvious, but did you try to tap on the logo and then hit the x like all the other notifications work?

There is a dismount and open file explorer to the external SD, no x
Yes, this is annoying. I'm one of those people who compulsively gets rid of notifications, and not being able to get rid of this one is annoying.
For me it just seemed to go away after having my SD card in for a while and after a reboot
If you have root

Its worth noting that revolver has the option to hide the status bar built in which makes the notification disappear when u re enable

YouTube app totally borked on Transformer

Anyone else seeing a problem where the YouTube app is totally borked on the Asus Transformer when it's docked? Type something into the search and press the spacebar, and it seems to scroll the page rather the type a space...
bizzare...

I got that problem too, anyone found a fix yet?
Im not getting that here, running Prime 1.7.
Forgot to say I'm using Revolver 2.1.2

I have the same problem, and no not touching anything except the space bar.
I have just been pressing the search button on the dock when I'm looking stuff up on youtube. The space bar works fine that way til someone finds a way to fix it.

WORK-AROUND: click the youtube logo at screen top/left and use the search box on the home screen instead, as that one isn't affected by the typing bug.
I have the same problem. Thanks for the tip.

[Q] Eliminate "External storage inserted" notif. icon

Hey guys,
I searched for this thoroughly, so if this has been covered, my surprised apologies.
Anyway, it drives me insane that there is a persistent "external storage inserted" icon/notification in the Honeycomb toolbar!
I knowthere is external storage inserted, and there will always be external storage inserted...that's (one of the multitude of reasons) why I went Android!
I want to just pretend like my microSD is internal memory...is there any way I can eliminate that eyesore SD card icon?
+1 it's not just that the icon is unneccessary, if you open the notification area there is a chance you accidentally press the unmount button that is next to the icon. btw my tf is unrooted so hopefully there is a solution unrooted devices.
Yeah, that's happened to me more than enough times, too.
(Shameless bump -- surprised this isn't an annoyance for more of you!)
I couldn't agree more.
I hate that notification...
Luckily since I am on the Revolver ROM I can toggle the status bar.
When I hide the status bar and open it again the notifications gone.
A suggestion if you're not on Revolver, go to manage applications > all > force quit System UI.
It SHOULD come back... if it doesnt just reboot.

+1- With Revolver, you can actually turn off the status bar all-together! And when you re-enable it, there is a known issue where the MicroSD carn notification icon will NOT re-appear! Some call it a bug - I call it a feature!

Bug - no.
Improvement - yes.
Good tip, guys. How's Revolver treatin' you? I thought my rom switching days were behind me (I've been really happy with Prime 1.9, latest Clemsyn kernel, and a mild overclock)...but if Revolver somehow mutes the icon, I might just have to flash.
Prime has been more stable than stock and zippier thanks to the OC -- without any hit to battery. However, I see Gnufabio added the power button mod (which I love about Prime), and I have been intrigued by Revolver Parts...
Can anyone speak to more differences between the two? (Self-threadjack.)
And now for unrooted users on stock rom? please?

Doesn't come back, after reboot the pad "finds" the external storage again and the icon is back

Damn, sorry to hear that.
Unless google changes it in an update it is most likely going to stay for rooted users.

I was only on stock for about 5 hours before I installed Prime 1.9.
Saw the extra options in Revolver and switched about a day later.
I can't speak about battery life but Revolver has been really stable for me.
Revolver parts offers a nice way to get themes/mods for the rom but atm is rather empty.

Uh, sorry guys for the mega up of this old topic, but as it's the first one coming up Google's search for "android hide external storage inserted", I'd rather post my solution here...
Root, then install Xposed and NotifiyClean mod and with that you can hide any unnecessary notification you want

[Q] Can not delete notifications

My SW2 has a bad behavior that after a few notifications even if I try to remove all notifications it lost something and does not delete.
I´d like to know if someone already fix it or have a workaround since it´s making me nuts.
I already tested all kind of apps and now i´m using watchit!. It appears to be a lost of pointer in internal DB just a guess.
thanks

I have the same problem. Really annoying. Were you ever able to find a solution. I hate having to do a reset on the watch to clear the notifications.
Works OK for me. Just swipe notification "bar" down, press menu button and then press X
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
In fact you just stop to show them. If you go to an application like Watchit you will see several notifications and you can't delete all only resetting the watching. Funny part is that is not boring more people over here...
I already test several notifications app. The same for all. The problem is with SO. I´m waiting Huawei Watch launch and I´ll be moving to Android Wear.
There are steps to clear all notifications on your SW2:
swipe notification topbar down
click menu button
click "x" button
like it

[Q] Getting rid of the Swipe up or down for the applications drawer message.

Hi there, anyon knows how to get rid of that message? it's frankly driving me nuts...
Thx
Its in the settings.
I dont have my phone yet(will by tonight) but from the reviews i say there was a setting to add the normal app drawer icon and disable the swipe.

Yes there is. You can either have no drawer or a drawer icon. I'll let you discover how in settings.
Go to settings then display and turn on easy stand
Easy stand? Haven't seen that yet...
I think I didn't explain myself correctly, I want to get rid of the Text message that scrolls from time to time and keep the swipe...
same issue

Driving me crazy as well. I'm either going to go back to Nova Pro or I'm going to turn on the app tray icon.

I remember that it's some built in "help and tips " app but I don't remember what it's exactly called. In it you can disable all these annoying hints.

after my first reboot and a night on the charger it is gone. maybe a number of uses gets rid of it.

Really hope so, 2 days of use 1 reboot to install the update.... Still there...
Hello, I have figured this out after searching and coming up empty. It was annoying me too.
Press and hold on the home screen like you're going to add a widget. Click 'home screen settings'. Click apps button and choose 'show apps button'
The swipe motion will still work to open the apps.
Take care

Use the Samsung members app. Log in and use the device management in there to clean ram and storage. It stopped for me after using that.
Just enable and apply the Apps Button, then disable and apply the Apps Button and it will go away.
use nova launcher,done,never appears.
Just got a new replacement device after a cracked screen and the "swipe up Or down on screen for all apps" won't go away on home screen. Never an issue on my old device. Does anyone have any new details on this besides a work around?
I will go away in a week or so. Mine was driving me nuts and it went away without me doing anything.
Just scroll up or down through the app/home screen 20-30 times in a row and it will go away. It was driving me nuts and I found this discussion. Saw it was going away after a certain amount of time so I scrolled through it a ton and it was gone. Lol.
Reboot
I went through the swiping up and swiping down and it still showed the message after. But then I shut down the phone and powered it on and it was gone. Just like another user mentioned.
